The name sounds familiar, I may have played it. I can't really remember though... can someone explain what it's about?

Well, the game IS kind of older now, hence the reason many aren't talking about it as much. I loved the game though. In fact, I bought a Gamecube the week ToS came out simply so I could play . But really, I've enjoyed EVERY "Tales of..." game I've ever played. (Er... well, except for maybe the Super NES version of Tales of Phantasia. But that's only because your team members AI is HORRIBLE. )

except for maybe the Super NES version of Tales of Phantasia. The PSX version is hot, though. Just..everything about it is like 50x times better. *_* I also liked the OP Animation/Theme. Arche looked so cute and *five paragraph post about how Arche is awesome* Tales of Symphonia the first popular game in the Tales series, right? I think it was the best marketed one, at least. Tales is the second most popular RPG series in Japan (Final Fantasy obviously taking the first), so those games have always been held to a higher standard over there.. orz Anyway about the particular game in question, I thought it to be enjoyable throughout several playthroughs, though some aspects of the game are..flawed? Lacking words..I think some of the characters just got on my nerves on an almost constant basis (The villians were much cooler. :0)-- The story was kindof stretched thin at the end too (I was basically begging it to end soon sometimes..)--But once you start collecting titles, costumes and recipies you'll be hooked. One of the best parts about this game is that I can beat it in half a week.

my friend has my memory card ..... but i like tales of legendia so far.... my friend also has my shaman king master of spirits 2, but she says she doesn't have it.... sooooo looks like i'lll have to buy a new one....... and she has my tales of symphonia !!!!!!!! but i'll get that from her if it's the last thing i'll do!! and from the way you put it TOL sounds shorter than TOS (it probably is since TOS had two discs...) PS i seen to jump subject to subject often ;D

I think Tales of Legendia is the longer than Tales of Symphonia actually. Some people tend to thing the first half of the game, Senel and Shirley's story, is the whole game. And they think of the second half of the game, The character quests, as side quests, even if they've never played them. They would be wrong however, the second half of the game IS STILL PART OF THE GAME. And the better part really .

i think i see why TOS had two discs now... either it was an older game, and they needed to put it on two discs because of the length of the game, or it could have something to do with the console.

Symphonia and Legendia are on two different systems (uh, in the US anyways.) I believe Legendia might be the longer game time-wise. But Symphonia probably has more dungeons and towns. Mm... Legendia has more anime sequences though. (Though kind of short-- TOUCHING AS ALL HECK though XD .) Concerning uh, Alimony's news, wow, I'm actually kind of suprised. But that will really be fun . I hope it gets ported to the US and the same VA's that were used in the game are used in the anime. .....Ok... I just like Zelos' voice a lot . I also hope that the story flows better in this Symphonia anime than it did in the Phantasia OAV. The Phantasia OAV, though pretty, just went all over the place story-wise 0_o . And that was just the first episode!

i didn't really know what an OAV was... but i think i have an idea now i want to draw the cover >_< i think i'll do that in a minute though.. what's everyones favorite part in tales of symphonia? ( it's not my favorite part, but the most touching part would be when Corrine died in my opinion...i thought it was so sad...i hated Volt after that because not only was it a big pain to beat, but it killed Corrine too

Ah, an OAV stands for "Original Animation Video". Basically, it's a straight to video release. The animation quality for OAV's tend to be higher than t.v series, but with less episodes.
SPOILERS **** Though it most definetly is NOT my favorite scene, it is a scene that sticks in my mind. You can have Zelos permenately betray your party and you are forced to kill him.
"You never trusted me."
The scene's during those moments are VERY sad, and after viewing it once, I reset the game to my previous save to do things so that it wouldn't happen ^^;. Still, it's a good stand-out scene.****

Tales is the second most popular RPG series in Japan (Final Fantasy obviously taking the first), so those games have always been held to a higher standard over there.. Ummm... no. Dragon Quest and FF are pretty much tied for most popular RPG. Tales and Suikoden are both popular, but neither hold a candle to those two. I hope it gets ported to the US and the same VA's that were used in the game are used in the anime. Not likely, considering they never brought over the Tales of Eternia TV series, nor the Tales of Phantasia OAV. Granted, they've also never brought over some of the games, either... **goes back to watching the ToE anime, with Ishida Akira and Hoshi-sama in it**

I couldn't confirm, I haven't paid attention to sales of Games in Japan since my marketing class. But since they're both tied from your statement, Tales can take the second place. ;0 No need to get all "UMM..NO." on me. edit: oshit, it sent through before I could finish I agree with Lovely on the memorable scenes thing, The Zelos ending..not a favorite, but one of the most emotionally charged scenes in the game. It was interesting how one sided Seles and Zelos' relationship was. I can understand that Seles thought he was unworthy to be Chosen..but, damn girl. You're cute, act like it. D: I also liked that scene in Palmacosta ranch when Zelos answered a question before Collete, and she looked back at him like ">( fuk u okay". :0 Oh, and the official site for the ToS OVA is up.

You're not understanding what I said...
The Tales series cannot even STAND next to FF and DQ.
I did a quick search, and came up with some numbers. Bear in mind that these numbers are not based off of total units sold, but off of the top games (RPG and non-RPG) of the year, 1996-2005. It also includes total units sold of the Famicom and Super Famicom games for Dragon Quest (I couldn't find older system sales for the other game series):
Pokemon- 26,486,849 Final Fantasy- 19,225,420 Dragon Quest- 19,400,000
Super Robot Taisen- 3,880,826 Tales- 3,684,214 Zelda- 2,647,955 Saga- 2,187,366 Rockman- 1,553956 Star Ocean- 1,544,684 Xeno- 1,331,790
You can't call something "second place" when there's well over 15 million units between them.
