Confrontation (Jr. Vs. Akio) (Ep.51ish)

[Jr.]

(OOC: This takes place a day or two before Team Modogumi fights Xeno-Ikkou! It has to be more than a day or else Jr. would be unable to compete in the battle!)

Jr. was still kind of in a daze from all that has happened recently.

First, I find out the Zohar has revealed itself, then I get a mental beat down from Nyourai, then Joe gets taken from me, and now I find out that Wilhelm is trying to get to Dessa! And I have to fight her and chaos soon!

As Jr. was walking and thinking, Akio was traveling towards Jr. from the other side of the street lost in his own thoughts.

I was unable to help my team win in our first match. Maybe the Hanagumi were right. I wasn't any help at all!!

"You don't scare us. It'll finally be better once you're gone, Akio. You put Master Hao's group to shame." Kanna scoffed.

The two of them bumped into each other as they walked along. Akio's glasses fell to the dirt. He knelt down to find them but was having trouble. Jr. knelt down and picked them up.

"Looking for these?" Jr. asked.

"Give them back please!" Akio growled.

What's eating him? Jr. wondered as he gave them back to Akio.

"Hey! You traveled with Hao's group didn't you Akio?" Jr. asked.

Akio was a bit shocked that Jr. knew this, "How would you know?"

Jr. just smirked, "New travels unless you're good at covering things up! I want to ask you about a shaman that I know traveled with Hao! His name is Ashil!"

Akio nearly fell to the ground, Ashil?! Why Ashil? "Yeah...I...what about him Jr.?"

Jr. looked at Akio with determined eyes, "Where is he? I promised myself that I would meet him here! Why isn't he with Hao's group anymore?"

Akio returned the stare, "I don't want to talk about it!!"

Jr. wasn't giving up that easily, "I want answers Akio!"

Akio and Jr. called forth thier spirits at the same time.

"Great Joe! Spirit ball mode! Oversoul into the Makarov's!!" Jr. yelled.

Akio yells, "Miss May! Spirit ball mode! Into the flute!"

There the two shaman stood preparing to face off. Jr. eyed Akio's flute which has now become a sword. Akio stared at Jr.'s pistols.

Jr. was the first to speak, "I don't want to hurt you Akio! But if this is the only to make you talk than so be it! I made a promise! I need to know where Ashil is!!"

Akio shot back, "You don't know what I've been through Jr.! Those memories are buried in my past. I've left them behind! You shouldn't live in the past either!"

Jr. raised his gun, You couldn't possibly understand what I'VE been through! Ashil was such a great guy! He was my best friend.

"You can see him?" Jr. points to Great Joe who was floating behind Jr.

The boy nods, "I see you are also a shaman! My name is Ashil! So....." the boy trailed off as he was worried he was pressing Jr. to stay.

Jr. looked around, "Well, actually I have no where else to be so why not. I'll hang out with you Ashil. I'm kind of new to the area so maybe you can acquaint me with this place."

Ashil smiled and nodded, "What's your name?"

Jr. blushed a bit at his own rudeness and said, "My name is...(Should I use Jr.? I could use Rubedo, but I just don't like that name....He's staring at you say something moron!!! >_< )...Jr.!"

Ashil looked puzzled, "Just Jr.?"

Jr. laughed nervously to himself and said, "Well, I have a name, but let's just keep it at Jr........OH! And this is Joe!" Jr. motioned to his spirit ally.

Joe butted in, "That's Great Joe thank you very much!! It's a pleasure Ashil!"

Ashil bowed in respect to the spirit gunman and laughed a bit at Jr.'s upset expression at his spirit.

They get along so great Ashil thought. I hope I can find someone like that. He began to depress himself and this didn't go unnoticed by Jr.

"Hey!” he explained, "How about that tour?"

Ashil had nearly forgotten, "Oh! Yes! Let's go then!"

"PRELUDE TO BATTLE!!" Jr. yells firing his guns at Akio. If I get the first strike, maybe I can end this quick, and without hurting anyone!

Akio just stands facing the ground as the bullets fly towards him.

He suddenly looks up. Eyes wide open as he raises his sword and yells, "CANON IN D!!" Akio fires blasts of furyoku that meet each bullet head on. The two blasts cancel each other out and the two remain standing there unscathed.

Is he toying with me? Jr. wondered.

Akio still stood there. He hadn't moved since he oversouled. After a moment, he looked over at Jr. and raised his sword again, "AILE HOSHI!"

What's that?! Jr. wonders.

Akio stands there still. Jr. can't stand waiting anymore and attacks again, "PRELUDE TO BATTLE!!" This time however his attack is broken by the wings of Ashil's attack! They had detached themselves as Jr. was preparing to attack. They flew like knives and cut Jr. in the middle while he was preoccupied with his next attack.

Jr. winced and fell to his knees, It can't be over yet! I came too far! I went through hell to get here! I won't be defeated now!!

"Great job Jr. One blast was all it took for you to win!! You came a long way in a very short time with your Oversoul!!" He yells jumping around Jr.

Jr. laughs, "Yeah! I can't wait for my next battle! Oh yeah, you have yours later today right?"

Ashil nods, "Yeah. It's right here. I can't wait!!"

Akio watches as Jr. gets back to his feet, Why is he still trying to fight me? His determination is admirable, but I refuse to let myself fall into that dark depression again! It took me a long time to lock those feelings away! I won't set them free.

Jr. then moves around the street. Akio watches carefully. This time Akio makes the first move, "AILE HOSHI!"

Jr. was ready for it this time. He watched carefully as the wings detached and came at him. He dove to doge the first and called out, "MYSTIC NOCTURNE!"

The blast of furyoku from Jr.'s Makarov's destroyed the Oversouled wing and went right through to Akio, knocking him to the ground. The blast engulfed Akio in a fog of furyoku that continued to damage him. He swiped his sword and cleared the fog away as his first wing returned. The second one regenerated.

"Nice attack Jr.!" But it will take more than that to make me talk!!" Akio warns. Jr. noticed that Akio has already begun to change.

His movements seem more aggressive. Have I yet to see the true "Akio"? he wondered.

(OOC: Almost forgot! There will be no interference with this fight! You are free to spectate but you can't run out and tackle one of us or anything! )

[Secretofmana]

Biggs walked around randomly, again. He liked seeing the sights of Patch Village. But one sight he was about to see wasn't going to please him.

"It's Jr., and........the Future Boy???" Biggs stared. They were battling, and things weren't looking up for Jr..Biggs stared as blades sliced Jr..

"This isn't pretty. Should we help, Nano?"

"I don't think so. Who knows why they are fighting?"

"Hmmm......" Biggs was very worried. The only other shaman he knew aside from his teamates who was nice to him was Jr.! And he was just going to stand here, and watch as he got cut to pieces? Biggs clenched his fist.

"I know how you feel, master, but you shouldn't let your emotions get the best of~ MASTER!!!!!"

Biggs was charging towards the battle, pendant in hand.

"Baku! What's he doing, rushing into battle without an oversoul?!" asked Nano to no one.

Biggs was charging towards the battle, ready to aid Jr., when.............

BAM!! Biggs was sent flying by an oversoul! He got up, looked up, and saw~

"And just what are you doing before our match?" asked Yurri.

"He needed my help, and~"

"Don't be stupid! There is absolutely no reason for you to be rushing into battle without an oversoul! Even with an oversoul, it could force us into forfeiting!" yelled Yurri.

" Darn it Yurri, he needs my help and~"

"Are you saying it's importent enough to risk forfeiting the match?"

"YES!!!"

There was a dead silence, except for the fight in the background.

"Fine then. If it's that importent to you, then prove it! Fight me!" yelled Yurri.

"Fine! Nano, into the pendant!"

"Master........" said Nano quietly.

"ARE YOU DISOBEYING ME??!? INTO THE PENDANT!!!!"

"Yes, master......"

Yurri smirked.

"Hah! You should be glad you're getting this warm-up! You can't even make your spirit oversoul!"

Yurri whipped out her weapons.

"Icearie, into the sais!"

(insert the upbeat part of Biggs' theme, found in team page 3, here!)

Biggs growled, gave a quick look at Jr.. and raised his pendant to strike. Yurri raised one sai calmly.

CLANG!!!

((OOC: Don't worry Jr., I will not interfere with your fight! Just think of this as something that's happening nearby!))

((OOC: Kind of off topic, but technically Jr's full "cover" name is "Gaigun Jr." ^_~.

EDIT: Might as well add somethin'.))

From atop a nearby building Lovely and her spirit Ally Finius gazed down towards the fight that Jr and Akio were having.

"Hmmm... you're right Fini. Looks like Jr IS picking on somebody."

Lovely took out a notebook and proceeded to watch the battle while writing down various notes.

"This is perfect! I DID need a bit more data!"

Finius watched the battle closely as well. It's yellow eyes looking thoughtful.

[Vasuki]

Geo and Vasuki sat in an alleyway in direct view of the battle...

"It stands to reason...that Akio will beat that weird red haired guy with the guns, I mean come on, he has no control over his darkness, The red hair guy is toast unless he can last longer....."

Vasuki turned to Geo..

"Master Geo, I regret to inform you, that we have actually ran into that red hai..."

"And, as much as I hate to admit it, that cat spirit isn't half bad from the looks of things, she creates a fine sword...and with the evil within him, and the evil within the cat.... I am not sure if the red-haired guy's can handle it....I wonder who he is, and what he is doing anyways..."

"Master! Don't you remember the lake, I mean, we overheard some sort of death thred to the planet and....

Master Geo! Look, up there! On that building!"

Geo is deep in thought, and continues with his rare linear mindset......

"Well, I guess we should leave Vasuki, no use waiting around here, we might get killed in the crossfire, the look in Akio's eyes is frightening...almost, fermiliar..."

"GEO! think about the past later, I mean, think about the past now!, up there! With the fox thing! please! listen to me!" Vasuki cries in desperation,

as the soundwaves fly over Geo's head.....

"Come on Vasuki lets go to the lake I havn't been fishing in a while...."

"Master Geo..... "

Vasuki sighs as he returns to spirit ball form and follows his master to the lake.....

Sarah walked by with Dixie on her head she looked at what was going on.

“Oh a battle… but who to cheer for?”

she thought for a second and said.
“Erm… go… JRkio!”

Dixie sweat dropped at Sarah before jumping off her head letting a low growl out at JR.

“Why the heck are you growling?” Sarah asked then she realized

“Oh that's right! Akio has a cat spirit!”

Dixie was quite partial to cat spirits if it came down to anything VS. a cat Dixie would surely be on the cat’s side she didn’t seem to care who the shaman was.

“Heh... go JRiko!” Sarah cheered again an odd look from Dixie

Annelise was strolling along with Tyto flying along side her. Tyto caught a glimpse of the battle, his eyes widened, and he took some of Annelise's thick, golden brown hair in his beaked and yanked it hard. "Geaaahh...Tyto! What was that for?!" Annelise stared at the owl, but he just pointed his wing at the fight. "Huh? Oh! A street battle! Hey, that's the guy from the Future Girls team, right? And...that other guy...isn't he a moderator on the Patch Forums?" Tyto looked at her and slowly nodded, noticing his friend was now fixated on the battle, barely blinking. Tyto turned his head around in many ways (because owls can do that) to see that there were many spectators watching the battle, too.

[Gus]

((well, if everyone else is here...))

Gus sits in an alley. He looks up from the bag of gummy worms he's eating only to see... JR. GO LEAPING PAST IN FULL OVERSOUL MODE!!! He cranes his neck over a bit, and sees... SOME OTHER DUDE CHARGING AT JR. ALSO IN FULL OVERSOUL MODE!!! Seriously confused now, Gus looks around, only to see... A BUNCH OF OTHER PEOPLE STANDING AROUND WATCHING!!!

"Well, " says Gus to himself, "It's not like I can leave this alley until they're done fighting... (I'm too lazy to oversoul up and FLY out...) and I do have all these gummy worms... Hell, this should be some show!"

Realizing sides are needed, he decides not knowing someone's name is even cooler than having red hair. So...

"GO OTHER DUDE WHAT ISN'T JR!"

Gus said:

Gus looks around, only to see... A BUNCH OF OTHER PEOPLE STANDING AROUND WATCHING!!!

((OOC: Dies laughing. So true, so true. I wonder if Akio and Jr will even notice when they end their fight? *laughs*))

Biggs: Let me through, Yurri! I don't want to fight you, but I will if I have to!

Yurri: Sorry, Biggs! But if you want to help so badly, you're going to have to prove yourself worthy, first! If you can't beat me, then you'll be a nuisance!

Biggs clenched his teeth. He started attacking in a fury without end! However, Yurri stood her ground. Biggs delivered a hard attack which made Yurri lose her balance.

Biggs: Hah! Now's my chance to go help!

Biggs made a run for it, but Yurri swept him off of his feet and teleported on top of him.

Yurri: You can't afford to make errors like that if you want our team to win, Biggs! Only when I run out of furyoku will you be able to proceed!

Yurri teleported away.

Yurri: Now then, fight me!

Biggs: Fine, I will! But you'll be seriously hurt!

Biggs cleared his mind and charged. Nothing was going to stop him now! He wasn't going to~

Biggs: GU~

Yurri smirked. He should have paid attention as to what was going on behind him. Biggs collapsed and his oversoul disengaged.

Dead silence.

[Jr.]

(OOC: Well, this is a fine time to get writers block!! XD Everyone is expecting a show!! Well, okay here goes...)

Akio and Jr. were both beginning to feel the damage they have done to each other. Jr. was still holding his side from the cut the wing of Akio's sword gave him. Akio was a bit drained by the effects of Jr.'s Mystic Nocturne.

Akio then came to a realization, "Jr.? I just realized something. You haven't been very honest either about your past have you?"

Jr. froze, He can't know. I was very careful to keep it hidden!! "I don't know what you're talking about Akio!!"

Akio just smirked, "You can't fool me Jr. I see right through you!! It all adds up. You know Ashil, you know Chimi Moryo. Alicia told me what you did at the Karaoke Bar. It all makes sense now." Akio pointed his sword at Jr., "You worked for Hao didn't you?"

Jr. stood there as sweat came down his forhead. The only sound that could be heard was Lovely scribbling frantically in her notebook. Finally Jr. came clean.

"Yes. I did work for Hao. For about a week or two, but it wasn't like you think. I...I did it for Ashil!"

Hao looked at the two shaman, "So...I have a proposition for you two. I want you two to join my cause!"

Jr. looked at Hao, "And what cause would that be?"

Hao turned to Jr., "I want to be shaman king. And I need help from powerful shaman to do so!"

Ashil pounced on the offer, "We would love to join!! To be teamed up with a powerful shaman such as yourself would indeed be an honor!!" The boys eyes gleamed.

Jr. looked at Ashil, I can't just let him go! But my mission....Ashil! DAMMIT!, "I also accept your offer! Thank you Hao!" the boy extended his hand and shook hands with Hao.

Akio's eyes narrowed, "You lie! If you were such a great friend than why didn't Ashil ever mention you?"

Jr. lowered his head, "He never mentioned me?" A tear fell, "I always thought...that somewhere in his heart he still had a place for me..." Jr. then raised his guns to Akio, "Hmph! I've had enough of this! I want to get answers not give them!"

Akio stood there wreathed with sweat. He raised his sword into the air and shouted, "UNCHAINED MELODY!" The crystal from the handle of his sword shot right at Jr. and paralyzed him.

DAMMIT! I can't move! C'mon!... Jr. thought as Akio came in for a strike. He cut Jr. across the chest. He gave a howl of pain that only made Akio shudder.

My heart made that same sound...that day... he thought.

It was horrible. I could remember seeing Ashil's giant oversoul in a shaman battle from far off. I rememberd watching it from atop of a cliff. I had a gut feeling that something bad was about to happen. The pain was excrutiating as I ran. I ran so hard and so fast that it almost felt like I was flying. Then I saw it, a huge flash of light and a loud noise of something exploding. The shock from the explosion made me lose my footing and I landed hard on the ground. This wasn't going to stop me. I stood up qucikly and ran off. The next thing I was going to see would change me forever.

There was debris everywhere. Each step I took, I was stepping on shards of glass from Ashil's giant oversoul. Then I saw him, laying face down amongst the pieces of earth. I rushed over to him and held him in my arms. He looked so pitiful and fragile that I was afraid to even hold him like I was. His eyes opened slightly and met mine.

Jr. fell to the ground as blood dripped from his body, My...heart. I can still feel it beating! I'm not through yet! "You haven't won yet Akio!"

Akio's eyes just grew colder as Jr. stood up and yelled his next attack, "Get ready! KILLING SKY!" He fired multiple rounds into the air that began falling to the earth in random locations. Many spectators began to retreat as they were also feeling the effects of this attack.

Akio though, seemed unphased, You call this pain?! You have no idea what true pain feels like! I will make you hurt Jr.! I will make you feel just as terrible as I did that day!

(OOC: I'm not scaring people away with the retreating spectators. I just thought I could give you guys something else to do besides sitting there and watching!! ^^; )

"GYAAAH! Wh-what was that?!" Annelise's eye twitched as she merely dodged something that Jr shot. Tyto quickly flew off of Annelise's shoulder, thinking the bullet would hit him.

"Wait a minute, what on earth are they saying?" Annelise cocked her head like she usually does when she's confused, and Tyto flew back up onto her shoulder to try to here the coversation of the battling shamans.

[Gus]

(sitting in the alley, his oversoul wings folded into a protective umbrella above his head...)

"Good god... I... they're both hiding something... their pasts... so... but they both know."
He realized it suddenly, the shock in his eyes obvious even to the other shaman watching from across the street.
"They both know each others secrets... but neither told..."
A trickle of sweat runs down his face...
"If they can read pasts so well... if I ever had to face one... look him in the eye, let him see me... would he know? Would he be able to see my own secret? If he could..."

The boy runs through the empty town, chased not only by the angry mob, but by the phantoms of those no longer able to chase him... The mob catches up. He lies on the ground, surrounded by people...

A man in a preist's robe spoke. "Augustus Boehling.((Gus is short for Augustus)) The tears in your eyes are not going to fool me. You have no sorrow, no remorse! Your tears are those of fear! You know you will die, and Satan has abandoned you to face hell alone!"

The boy whimpered. "Father Manoraen... I... I didn't mean to! It wasn't me!"

"Of course not!It was Satan, flowing through your veins! Yet that is no excuse, and you must die! Witchcraft must be eliminated to bring peace!"

"I... I DON'T WANT TO DIE!"

The boy's body erupted into flames.

"Hmm. The flames of hell have accepted him back into- WHAT?!?"

The flaming shape spread, engulfing all those gathered, and spreading their ashes across main street.

And amid the ashes, the boy cried.

"Everyone who finds out tries to kill me... and everyone who tries to kill me dies. For them as much as for me... I cannot let them find out!!"

[Jr.]

(OOC: You didn't steal my color Gus! I use aqua by the way. It's brighter than teal! I thinkit just makes it easier to read if you change color if you're going to another scene! )


Jr. was weakening more as the battle drug on. It seemed that nothing could break through Akio's defenses.

All my attacks haven't even phased him. Now I have a gash on my chest and he is just standing there ready to kill me! His eyes...they're the same as his...

Jr., bloddied but not out couldn't even speak. He tried to get to his feet but he was too badly wounded. Ashil came up to him.

"This is my time to show Master Hao my loyalty Jr.. I don't understand why you decided to betray our friendship, but I won't take it anymore! It's time for you to leave!" Ashil yells as his golem kicks Jr. another 100 yards away.

Ashil... Jr. thought as he raised his guns again, I need to tell you that I'm sorry. I also need to return something to you... Jr. called to Akio, "Ready for more Akio? I still have plenty of furyoku left!!"

Akio continued to stand there. Inside, he was fighting a firece battle with his emotions, I should have been there...I...I...failed him...

"Ashil...please hang on. I can go find help for you." Akio cried.

Ashil shook his head and said in a low voice, "There is no hope for me...I glad that you came back. I told you that I'd wait for you..." There was a short pause, "Do you think....you could sing for me one last time?"

That promise must have kept him alive for that short amount of time. I started crying as I began to sing the song that he had requested.

All I did was play my song for him. I couldn't save him...but why him? Why did he have to die?!

Akio stumbled a bit as he moved in for another assault on Jr.. This didn't go unnoticed by Jr.. He's beginning to lose his focus. Is it the battle that's fatigued him...or is it something else?

Akio yelled, "UNCHAINED MELODY!" and erratically sent the crystal from his sword at Jr.. Jr. was able to dodge this time but Akio didn't notice. He continued to move in on Jr..

Now is my chance!! Jr. thinks as he calls out his attack, "MYSTIC NOCTURNE!!" and blasts Akio at close range sending him flying through the air. As he hit the ground dead silence filled the streets of Patch Village as everyone wondered if Jr. had killed Akio. Expecting remorse for what he had done, everyone looked at Jr. to see if he was concerned. But instead of remorse Jr. displayed a look of pure rage on his face. He too was affected by the point blank blast of his own attack.

He pulls out an oracle pager from his coat, "Akio? I need to see Ashil! I need to give him this! It belongs to him!"

Akio rises to his feet with an even more crazed look in his eyes, his emotions won the inner struggle and he had lost all ability to reason, "A pager?! Ashil never wore an Oracle Pager!!"

Jr. explained, "Yes......he did! Before Hao corrupted him, Ashil had indeed entered the shaman tournament!!"

Akio paid no attention to Jr. as he moved in again swinging his sword wildly. Jr. could only dodge as he had no room to counter attack with Akio's fast and furious sword techniques.

He's too close!! I can't hit him from this close again! Another point blank range Mystic Nocturne could kill him!! Jr. thought, But I can't get him to back off!!!

While Jr. tried to think of a way out, Akio got a strike in that cut Jr.'s leg. Jr.'s rage took over.

Jr. glared at Akio, I don't care what happens...I'm not going to lose!!

He yells, "MYSTIC NOCTURNE!!!" and the blast sends Akio back to the other side of the street. This time a trail of blood followed Akio to where he lay. The blast hit him in the arm. Cuts were noticeable all along his right arm as he got back to his feet.

Jr. stood there staring at Akio. The battle had really taken it's toll on both of them. Jr. calls out, "I'm not leaving here without answers Akio!!" Akio looked up and smirked. The crazed lookin his eyes made the spectators shiver.

"Then you won't be leaving!!" he calls back. The two increase the amount of furyoku in their Oversouls and prepare to continue their battle.

Jr. yells, "MYSTIC NOCTURNE!!"

Akio swings his sword and yells, "CANON IN D!!" the attacks meet between them causing a shockwave that flies towards everyone in the vicinity. They attempt to weather the attack but both Jr. and Akio take serious damage from the wave. It rips viloently through the area where the two shamans are battling.

Jr. stood up. He kind of shifted from side to side a bit as he tried to regain his balance. He shoots Akio a glare and yells, "I won't be defeated!! I WILL NOT LOSE TO YOU!!" Jr. had begun to break down. His vision had become blurry and his decsent into madness didn't help matters.

It's Hao! I see him across the field! I will make him pay for what he did! He took Ashil from me! I won't let him get away with this! He raised his guns in the air, his hands shaking.

Akio looked over at Jr. as his mind began playing tricks on him as well, I see you Hao! You threw Ashil's love away! I won't let you hurt anyone again!! He raised his sword. The two stood there as if under a spell. One ready to end the other one's life!

(OOC: Well, this battle will take place a few more days before Modogumi's battle so Jr. and Akio can heal! I wasn't going to have this battle be so violent, but I wanted to try something new and I really hope you don't mind the direction I've taken this bro. Anyone that is still sticking around after this chapter better be warned. What happens next could very well do damage to your character unless you have some means of defending yourself. Don't leave yet Lovely. I'm going to need you for the next part!!)

[Lovely]

(OOC: Well, since I've been especially requested to stick around...)

While all the intense battle took place below, and while other shamans in the nearby vacinity took cover. Lovely remained on her perch atop a nearby building.

Her guardian Finius sat next to her, glaring at the combatants below.

A small smile came upon Lovely's face as she looked upon the events below and muttered something softly to herself.

Lovely then stood up and said with a shout,

"IF YOU GUYS MESS UP ANY OF THE PROPERTY AROUND HERE I AM NOT PAYING FOR IT!"

(OOC: I hope I didn't mess anything up for ya Jr ^_~ . Of course, you don't necesarily have to HEAR Lovely say that last line *laughs*. ))

(OOC: XD!! It's creepy sometimes how your additions just fall into place! You have the exact attitude I want you to for the next installment!! It's perfect!)
