Well, just in case anyone was interested... The Process of how Grace CG's! This is a pic I'm working on for the PatchVillage RP. It's a pic of my character (me) and my spirit ^^; . Yep, when you draw yourself... pure narcisism ^^; . Anyhoo. We start off with the rough sketch. Sometimes if the sketch is clean enough I can just fix it up in Photoshop and then add color. However~  As you can see, this time it's waaaaay to messy. As a side note, I drew this on the back of one of the Shaman King scripts ^o^ . So, if I can't clean it up in Photoshop, I just have to trace it over in Illustrator. So here is the clean line version of the pic. Notice the dead looking eyes. Spooooky~  I should note that I then take the pic from Illustrator and put it into Photoshop. And I clean up some of the line work from there. Fun fact-- Lovely and Fini are actually on different layers. Well, that's all I have done for now. Let's see if I ever get to coloring it ^_^; . |

it's so cute Lovely I wish I had photoshop I've seen it do awome things but I'll just have to stick to GIMP and Pixia for now.
but you've got to color it it's just so kewl!!!!!
I plan on doing a pic of me and Dixie but right now I'm covered in school work.

Illustrator huh....would that be Adobe Illustrator? I'm rather curious about this because normally I hand ink drawings on a different piece of paper and I can never get straight lines. That looks really nice in illustrator though. I'm going to have to look into that...
*checks Adobe's site knowing full well she can't afford it*
$499!! Meh...I knew it would be something stupidly expensive. Thanks for the info on how you do that though.

Oh, and inking with Illustrator isn't perfect. Especially with the mouse AKA "the bar of soap".

oooo kawaii! Amazing how you can do that with a mouse, especially if the ball is sticky...-_-
Even though I'm like a computer half-admin in my school, I don't have access to this stuff, cuz the arts program in our school is...well, let's just say that our music program is something to be proud of!!

Well, this thread IS titled "The Process" so I'll show you step... erm... 3 I think. It's called coloring the "flats". I color sections in BRIGHT colors so I can easily go back and use the magic wand to click on these sections and color/shade the sections properly. Besides the hair and skin color, the rest of the colors are DEFINETLY not the colors that will be seen in the final. They are intentionally super bright so I can work with them later. I only have the "flats" done on Lovely so far. I need to get crackin' on Fini.  Oh yeah, the eye reflections will probably be different in the final as well. I just added them because, while working on the pic, Lovely's blank stare was REALLY starting to freak me out ^^; . |

Haven't even STARTED on trying to cg fini... And, yeah, I know it would of been best to CG Lovely "cell" style, but I just didn't feel like it right now .... maybe later. Anyhoo,  The background is just a random screen cap from the series by the way. EDIT: Ugh... as I look at it now, I can see that I missed some spots to shade ;_; .... |

That is really cool all shaded, and with the background there. Almost like a tourist's photograph.
