This is my first yaoi-ish fic. I hope it came out alright, please be nice. I don't really like yaoi or the couple of RenxHoro, but i had the inspiration and i haven't written anything in a while so i went with it. Also the title may change if i think of a better one.
Title: Of Love and Lust
Rating: PG-13 or R
Genre: Angst, romance(i guess), drama
Coupling: RenxHoroxOC
Summary: Ren has been having strange feelings for Horohoro lately. He can't explain them and wants them to be gone. Is he falling for the Ainu? Things change when a new shaman girl makes the scene and Horo seemingly has developed feelings for her. What will all this drive Ren to do?
Chapter 1.
Why did he do it? How could he let himself do such a thing? There he stood over her body, he, Tao Ren, now a coldblooded killer. The girl lay there motionless, in a pool of her own blood, eyes wide. What had he done..?
Ren felt sick, he dropped the Kwan Dao and sunk to his knees, covering his face in his hands. He could not bare to look at her anymore. What drove him to do such a thing? Love, lust, and anything inbetween perhaps. The last thing Tao Ren had ever wanted was to fall in love, and now that he had he had done the unthinkable. All over him...
It had all started nearly three months ago. Ren had been staying in the Asakura household, and he was not the only guest, Ryu and Horohoro were also staying for a while. Horohoro...A friend Ren had treated more like an enemy half the time. Horo was a true friend to him, even if Ren would deny it, in his heart he knew he and Horo really were friends. Perhaps best friends...
It had been a week since Horohoro had come to stay with everyone at Yoh's, and during that time Ren couldn't help but feel weird. Whenever he was around Horo he felt different...it was all new to Ren. And it baffled him because he had known Horo for so long, and had never felt this way around him. He didn't know what it meant, and frankly didn't want to, he just wanted to feel normal again. The chances of this happening though, seemed slim...
Ren had now begun having dreams of his friend. Different dreams, all unique. Some were just Horo, others he and Ren were together. The one he had just had had him upset and confused. They were together in it, alone, it was snowing, white all around. Horo had taken Ren's hand. They looked into eachother's eyes and stayed silent for a moment. Then Horo had begun leaning in to..KISS Ren! And at that moment, before their lips touched, Ren jolted awake. Sweating and breathing hard, he couldn't believe his dream. Was he...falling for Horohoro..? The thought came into his mind and he quickly shook it out. No way. No way he, Tao Ren, would fall in love with someone, especially not Horohoro. And besides, Ren didn't even want to fall in love. Having friends was fine, but he didn't believe there was someone out there for him. For him and only him, Ren couldn't believe such a person existed, nor did he want them to.
Ren stayed quiet at breakfast, eating little and his expression remaining that of being deep in thought. It was then Horo poked his shoulder.
"Ren? Ren are you there?" he asked, looking at his spiky haired friend a bit oddly.
Ren snapped back into reality then. He realized he had spaced out and he scowled at Horo. "Yes of course I am! Can a person not think in peace?!" he said angrilly.
"Whoah, ok ok, chill out. It was just a question. You haven't been yourself lately, you ok?" Horohoro asked, obviously concerned.
"I'm fine! Why wouldn't I be. Just worry about yourself." Ren replied, his cheeks reddening ever so slightly.
"if you say so..." Horo said, and got up, leaving.
Ren sighed and looked down. He always had to snap, always be offensive. Even when all Horo was doing was being concerned for his friend. Sometimes Ren really hated himself...
Ren soon got up and looked outside. It was a beautiful spring day. It looked almost perfect. ...He wondered what Horohoro had planned. He angrily shook that thought out of his mind, why would he think such a thing! Ren decided he needed some air, and so he went outside. This was how it started. This was the beginning of things that had led Ren to do what he had just done.
Later that same week, Ren was walking out in the city. He felt thirsty so he went into a conveinance store. To his surprise, who stood there but Horohoro. Horo looked over and saw his friend. A smile appeared on his face and he waved.
"Hey Ren! Come here, i want you to meet somebody." Horohoro asked cheerfully.
Ren didn't want to come off as rude, so he somewhat shyly made his way over to the cashier counter and next to Horohoro. "What is it?" he asked, sounding a bit impatient.
Horo smiled and pointed to the girl behind the counter. "This is Kojika, Kojika this is my friend Ren. The one I told you about." He said.
Ren blinked, and looked at the girl. He studied her, she was quite pretty. She was tall, taller both he and Horo, and looked to be about 18 or so. She had long dark blue colored hair that went a little bit past her waist and dark navy blue eyes. Ren also couldn't help but notice she was very...shapely. Curvy with large...assets...He quickly removed that thought from his mind of course.
"Um...hello.." He said, a bit timidly.
The girl smiled. "Hey there! Horo told me about you. So your Ren, the stuck up Chinese guy who's really a sweetie underneath. I see. And he was right, hun you win the award for weirdest hair style. Hi, i'm Kojika Eiyuko!" she said, in a very bubbly tone, holding her hand out to him.
Ren blinked twice. He really didn't know what to make of that. This 'Kojika Eiyuko' seemed very energetic non the less. He shook her hand and replied the only way he could. "Um...nice to meet you too...Kojika..." Taking his hand back, he looked over to Horo. "..How long have you two known eachother..?" he asked.
"About two weeks." he answered. "She's really great. I invited her over to Yoh's for dinner tonight."
"What? But...Horohoro, shouldn't you check with Yoh first? It IS his house..." Ren said, feeling a headache coming on.
"I did. He and Anna are happy to have her." he said happily. "And..." he leaned closer to Ren, to whisper in his ear. "She's a shaman."
Ren felt his cheeks redden slightly as Horo leaned in so close to him. Taking in that information he looked at them both questioningly. "What..?" He then looked directly at Kojika. "Your a..?"
"Thats right!" she said, bubbly as ever. "Never would have guessed would ya?" she sad, winking.
"No..." Ren replied. He really did have a headache now, and he had forgotten all about the reason he had come into the store in the first place. "I'm uh....i'm going home..bye Horohoro..." he said, turning his back to leave.
"Bye." Horo said.
"Bye, nice meeting you." Kojika said.
Ren nodded in reply to her. "Bye.." he said and walked off.
Who was this girl really? So she was a shaman, and she and Horohoro had hit it off. But who was she really? He didn't remember seeing her back in the tournament, and she apparently wasn't from Funbari. She was different....and Ren also wondered, were she and Horo an item? The thought of the answer to that being yes made Ren feel sick. But why? Why was he feeling such things. In fact, why should he care what Horo does and who he dates. It just, wasn't right...Not to mention, this girl would be at dinner that same night!
Later that night Horo came home with Kojika. Everybody introduced themselves, and then they all sat down to eat. This girl really had Ren confused, what kind of girl was she? She seemed nice and bubbly, but he could tell she wasn't someone to mess with. And she was now out of her work uniform and dressed in a tight red shirt with ruffle sleeves and that was rather low cut. She also had on tight fitting jeans and black heeled boots. Ren just couldn't tell if he could trust her or not...Meanwhile, Ryu was obviously checking her out. She seemed to notice, yet not care.
"Oh, Miss Kojika where are you from?" Ryu asked, blushing.
"I'm originally from Okinawa. But I lived in Tokyo with my mom from the time i was two till I was eleven, and then I moved back with my dad in Okinawa. And I have an apartment here for the time being. I just wanted something new." she replied.
"Oh i see.." Ryu asked, looking south of her neck.
Horohoro noticed, and it wasn't going over well with him. "um...Ryu.." he was cut off by Kojika herself.
"Oh sweetie, i'm so glad my breasts interest you so, but why don't you eat now and gawk in amazement after dinner?" she said.
Everyone looked at her and Ryu. Ryu blushed and nodded and went back to eating. Horo started laughing.
"Hehe she knows how to take care of herself." he said, smiling at her.
"I'm just used to it." she said cooly.
Ren kept glancing at Horo. He noticed the way he would look at Kojika, it was different. Different then the way he'd look at him, or Yoh, and even different then the way he looked at Pirika. He had said she was his friend earlier, so they weren't dating but...somehow Ren could tell Horo had developed feelings for this girl...
Upon coming up with this conclusion Ren felt sad inside. But once again he didn't know why. Why should he care? Why shouldit matter to him what Horohoro felt for her. Why........
Why was he feeling this way..? That was all Tao Ren wanted to know...
