Alright, here's what I mean. I know the title might be hard to understand. With the dubbing, I started worrying about certian parts of Shaman King that I was sure would be butchered into oblivion. With that, I came up with a sort of list of 'high risk' characters, who would be especially vulnerable to all the editing....Now, I haven't seen a lot of the series, but this is what I guessed from what I've heard and seen so far.
Faust: We're gonna find out soon enough what's gonna happen to Faust. Between the violent background story, his ancestor selling his soul to the devil, the fact that he carries around the skeleton of his murdered wife (bullet hole and all), and the psychotic rampage he sort of goes on in his fight with Yoh...Episode 15 got so creepy, I couldn't even really watch it. I'm hoping to change that soon enough.
Hao and his minions: They go on sort of a killing spree, from what I've seen. That and 4Kids might wreak the evil twin subplot by turning it into a stereo-typical scenerio and Hao and company into cookie-cutter villians. Definately a bit of a worry for me, mostly cause I'm sort of a fan of Hanagumi and seeing them ruined....Grr, I don't even want to think about it.
The X-Laws: Similar to Hao and his group, the X-Laws seem go kind of crazy. I came up with a joke saying that the X-Laws are kind of an anime portrayl of Christian Fundamentalism, but that's another story. ;D For some reason, they set off the 'high-risk' bells and whistles on me.
The Tao Family: Ren has already been trashed and Jun isn't much better off. What's to stop them from wreaking the rest of the Tao clan? A family legacy of assasinations isn't something that I'd imagine would sit well with 4Kids.
Comments anyone? I just wanted to actually post something around here, so I put this up to see what everyone thinks. Maybe start a conversation or something.
