What if they(4kids) make Hao female? At first glance he looks kinda like a girl, and we all know how much 4Kids likes screwing stuff up, and this wouldn't be the first time I've seen a dubbing company change a character's gender on a whim...I'll stop now, don't want to jinx it :P Anyway, am I going insane, or is this a semi-valid worry?

What other gender changes have their been? The only one that comes to mind for me right now is Zoicite in Sailor Moon. I can't think of any others from the anime that I've seen.

Dude, I'd be scarred for life. xD Honestly, I don't think 4kids would be THAT messed up to make a male character female. The only other gender change that I can think of than the one Saturn mentioned was in Digimon. But that was changing the gender of a digimon! And it had pink in it anyway! xD

Fisheye from Sailor Moon had his/its gender change as well in the Sailor Moon dub.
I don't see why they would change Hao's gender though. He is neither gay, nor genderless. Nor is there any guys that are paticularly in love with him.

I forgot about Fisheye. Never really liked SuperS so I really didn't bother watching much of the dub for that season.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! well i CERTAINLY do NOT think THAT would happen. *shudder* First off, Hao is shirtless a lot. And if you failed to realize...no boobs. nah-uh. But that made me remember when my cousin's friend was watching Shaman King with us and she says about Hao "Is it a girl?" and that she has a friend that looks exactly like Hao. "Is she evil?" I asked. ehehe. Oh, incidently, is Opacho a girl or a boy? Does anyone know? And another thing- I heard someone suggest that they would change Lyserg to a girl in the dub. all i can say is "Riiiight. Lyserg looks JUST like a girl." pfft. i mean, Ryu thinks he is a girl ONCE. so...? aw man they'll cut that out, won't they? T_T

Well, the thing with Lyserg is that Ryu keeps on crushing on the poor kid even AFTER he finds out that Lyserg is a boy ^^;. But then, Milly has a crush on Lyserg too.
Hm, well, we'll see (sadly).

And if you failed to realize...no boobs. nah-uh. 2 of the Sailor Moon peeps already mentioned(Fisheye & Zoicite) were also CLEARLY flat-chested, but that didn't prevent the dubbers from changing their genders :P And it appears that I'm not going insanse, well at least not completly insane... |

Like insanity's a bad thing? :P Anyway, changing the gender of Hao would not only scar the fangirls for life, but it would also be too hard for the dubbers to convince he was female, regardless. To quote BakuraObsession, Hao's shirtless time and time again. They'd have to cut out all of those scenes for nudity, just for being female. |

I don't know about cartoons but if you've played Samurai warriors checkout Renmaru Mori, he looks and sounds like a girl.

Yeah so does Suburu from Tokyo Babylon.
Oh And they did NOT change Hoa's gender.He's still male.I've seen The 1st season of the dubbed Shaman King And Hoa was in it.('cept his name wasn't hao)Anyways He looked Like A boy.,Sounded like a boy,And even said he was a part of yoh.Or yoh's brother they said he was his brother AND his part (wow they are stupid).Oh and I highly doubt they'll make Lyserg a girl.He doesn't look THAT much like a girl.So.....

they cant make lyserg a girl.....and thats a fact! you see...remember tha episode 'american hotsprings' you see all of them with just towel...oO meaning (like hao) lyserg is clearly shirtless in that episode so they couldnt turn him into a girl....unless they skip that episode...  |
