It's time for this week's mankin post.
Here are my thoughts on the original episode, as always it is VERY spoiler filled so don't read if you want to be surprised!

Cute episode with an unexpected ending
I like this episode because I enjoy seeing the boys be nice and have fun. It's nice that towards the end Lyserg finally lightens up a little.
That is, till the very end! MUWAHAHA!!! The thing that MAKES this episode is the ending.
It makes an otherwise happy happy epi go decidely dark and tragic. Poor Lyserg, no wonder he's a bit on the loony side.
EVEN BIGGER SPOILERS FOR THIS EPISODE. Seriously, DON'T READ if you haven't seen the episode before.
I'm wondering how the dub is going to handle the ending and story. I'm HOPING that they don't make the fairies malicous.
The fairy's are mischevious to be sure, but they aren't bad. Which is something that makes the ending all the more tragic.
Another thing, the fairy's get burned ALIVE. You see them on fire and screaming. While techncially it's not all that violent (I mean,
basically the fairy's are just glowing orbs of light.) It's still a rather disturbing scene.
My only complaint about this episode is that the inclusion of the Lilly5 was handled badly. They should of either incorperated the group in the story better or not had them in this eppisode at all.

the fairies! those guys were funny....especially with the bucket and bason ;D the only thing im worried about is their voices...4kids is probably gonna give them sqeaky voices like they did with mor--ahem..chloe.. the part where the fairies...are...you know...i laugh...  ....yes i laugh....hey i support haos side...yes im weird....*cough* say lovely, what do you think they're gonna put when Brave Heart is playing? do you think theyll add something of their own, or just have all the guys laughing and stuff...? |

I haven't seen the original, but my curiosity got the best of me and I couldn't resist reading. Now I'm spoiled.  Oh well. It won't take out any enjoyment out of seeing it and now I can look for comparisons myself since I have a little background on the episode. Can't wait until Sunday. |

just finished watching the episode and i thought it was cute when they had a mudball fight. (at first i thought it was poo cuz the spirits were monkeys ^^; ) i almost cried when the faries got burned alive im just glad the elders didn't die... the begining of the ep was hillarious when rio was trying to "page" billy and he was stranded because of the cows. the bucket and bason was to funny, especially the 2nd time around. ren: *opens door* go on bason. bason: i really don't want to... ren: bason... |

I was confused by one part. One minute they are in the cave, and then the next second they are outside ready to fight. Did a scene get cut or something? Because how did they get outside that quickly?  |

I believe that was another fairy illusion.
I thought the episode was great, mainly for the reasons TreyRacer mentioned. The english overlaping of words seemed a big obvious and annoying though this episode....

That happened in the original too. From how I understood it, the cave was merely an illusion created by the faires .

yeah i didn't like the lilly 5's cameo. it was kinda unessecary really. and sharona had her cigarette holder thing in this ep too. guess they didn't see any need to edit it out.
i loved the pun name for the village

Ha ha, this episode was great, despite the creepy ending. O.o; I liked the part when Horo got blasted by the fire then frozen, and when Yoh was tossed out of the rocking chair. xD Then the Ren/Bason scene was funny~
Door: *knock knock*
Ren: Bason.
Bason: ...I don't want to...
Ren: Bason. *glare*
Bason: ...*goes in door* *thud* OW!
XD Poor Bason; that was so cute.
And the fairies really looked like the ones from Zelda. O.o

Yeah, definetly a surprise at the end. About the only other series that I can think of that goes back and forth from lighthearted and comical to deadly serious so well is Slayers. I do want to know if in the origenal version the faries talked about the previous Shamen Fights. My favorate line in the episode was Lyserg's "I did not enjoy that."
On another note, I now have to fight the urge to call Hao, Zeke. Curse you 4kids!!!

Argh! the stupid cable company keeps switching signals! now shaman king is on at 12 30! ><! and since for some reason i wake up on my own at 6 or around there...i have to wait! curse you cable company! ahem...now the episode.... Hocuspoc....i wont even comment...although the original name was kinda weird too...o_0... the bucket scene is my favorite in this episode! ;D makes me laugh every time! oh and in the original, there werent any comments about the town being haunted...nor was there any gold.... the scene where the lily 5 show up is funnier in the original: Lyserg: I'm going to be blunt, and say... Sharona: How much is the reward? Lyserg: Exactly! How much is the... Wh... what? the sign in the mines "Monsters this way" or something like that...was so stupid it made me laugh XD and the whenever the mud scene comes up i always start screaming "blue monkeys blue monkeys!" yea...dont ask... and finally...the hao scene...i mentioned in another thread i laugh during this scene... ....im sorta the type who laughs whenever someone dies...and not just in SK......i bet everyones staring at me right now...well...mentally... the fairies voices surprised me.... they werent sqeaky! and how come at the end they were mentioning the whole 1000 and 500 years thing..? thats not explained until later...i mean...it doesnt make any sense...you would expect yoh and the others to be confused if they really said that... ...since they still dont know about the whole hao being yohs *spoiler!!!!* ancestor and brother... they kept the name of the 1080! XD! i couldnt sworn they were gonna rename it something like Mystical Beads of (insert freaky 4kids name here).. im done now...yea.. |

I liked this episode.It was cuuuuuuute!*hugs spirit ball Bason* He's just so abused!!
But, I'm hopelessly obsessed with a minor detail that made no sense to me.......every time it showed Ren at the table he was drinking something in a container shaped like a pyramid.What was it?Why was it in a pyramid carton?Was it juice made out of gold and mummies?

It's milk, Ren has a thing for milk ^^; . Also, it's incredibly hard to tell, but he has exactly three cartons piled up ^o^ .
