dont know, it was never mentioned who was shaman king in the past but i do know this:
***when yohken asakura died, he chose to go to Hell for his actions....
im not 100% sure on this one though ><
and crystalstar, yes your right, hao was killed both times by the asakuras...

yea, manga, *yohken asakura* is never mentioned in the anime, nor is Matamune. Hao's past in the anime was less detailed than in the manga...

Everything is less detailed in the anime. That's why I wish I had the manga, but it's so expensive!!
