Hello, welcome to the board.
I personally don't hate the English version of Shaman King. Although, I've never even seen the Japanese version so I can't compare it. I actually find it to be a relatively decent dub compared to other dubs I've seen.

If you read the episode comparsions at this site, you will know why so many people hate the English adapation of Shaman King so much. Anyway, welcome to the forums.

Well, I don't really hate the dub, but I guess some people would dislike it because of the way it's been dubbed. The name changes, the voices, and the script changes are a few reasons. It hasn't been so bad lately, though.

see i like watching the english version then getting my hands on the jap. version *unless it's a dvd and it has that option*

i don't hate the dub, i just have nothing to really compare it to. i've read a couple comparisons on the site and read a few manga episodes. i think the name changes are stupid and they NEVER state countries. IT'S RIDICULOUS!!! and the way they brush out all the written words, even ENGLISH ones, is pointless!!!

I believe that they put as much of the original as they can in the dub. The F.C.C. is just so anal about what a kid in america can watch on t.v. so they butcher a good anime and we see the result.
I really like the dubbed Shaman King.
