O.k, I just got back from watching the episode... um... n othing much to say that hasn't already been mentioned ^^; . Oh I will say that the audio for the next episode preview was correctly played in my area.
One more thing... I HAT MIKIHISA's DUB VOICE AND CHARACTER CHANGE.
Originally, when he spoke at the end of the episode, he sort of mentioned casually that Yoh and Hao are twins. "Yeah it's true, their twins" .
In the dub. "IT IS TRUE, though I wish it were not so...."
Gaaaaaaaaa.... that formal way of talking and that gratey "evil" voice is SOOOOO not Mikihisa ;_; !

Yoh and Zeke AsaKUra....someone shoot me >_< Then again, there was the CCS Movie 2, which was dubbed differently..the English actors pronounced Sakura correctly but....it just doesn't sound right... >_>;; And I'm getting off topic again >< Bah. If I post a manga scan of the sword...I'll get shot, right?^.^;; I don't think so...if it's just a scan of the sword...like just the picture...then I suppose it's fine..but I'll let Lovely decide. his voice is annyoing grrr to 4kids with their 'dystory'and world of the no longer living and grrr to Jetix for starting the whole series again before showing new eps grrr to them Dude...what are you trying to say? Anyhow, pretty okay episode...I guess. Though I believe that the "No Peel" joke would have been better off as "Anna, Banana". The next episode...erm..."Yoh and Hao" sound so much better together than "Yoh and ZEKE". I mean, "Yoh". "Zeke". Those two names just don't go together! They clash! ARRRGHHHH!!!! NO!!!!! Also, my VCR quality was rather....low. The colors were so screaming bright...and the screen kept...bouncing...(for lack of a better term). It was kind of distracting. And finally, I conclude on a sad note: I'm starting to get used to that horrible 4Kids TV logo, though I'll never get used to their stupid commercials. |

lol they really should've left them as they were Hao way better but 4kids no doubt thought we might get mixed up with names and they can't have good names at all because 4kids don'tlike fans being happy and must enjoy people hating them for being well annoying
On Jetix they have this really really annoying Totally Spies advert that goes on forever and is ahhhh grrness to oh welly only about 48 episodes to go before we're back where we were at ep 52 and no doubt Jetix's will decide to stick the old eps on again to annoy everyone and do another re run of 52 episodes

Just a quick thought regarding Hao's name change...
The only logical reason I can think of is this:
1. "Hao" (as far as I know) is pronounced "How".
2. "How" is a stereotypical Native American greeting.
3. Hao has the appearance of a Native American person.
4. Naming anyone who appears Native American "How" would appear tastless and bigoted.
That's what I figure anyways.

I loved this episode. I watched it three times and then my VCR ate my tape  Opacho: Look how big Amidamaru is (or somethin..) Hao/Zeke: (has eyes closed) Yes, I'm looking! -XD Zeke: Oh didn't you know? We are two halves of the same whole. -The delivery coulda been better... Zeke: We'll meet again...my brother... -YEAH, YEAH, DARN STRAIGHT! (I really liked that part...) Joco: But when ya gotta go, ya gotta go... Len: (high-pitched voice) RAPID TEMPO RAPID TEMP RAPID TEMPO!!! -Laughed for like ten minutes straight at that... Lyserg has pretty eyes in this episode... Glad you like it. >D And--! Next episode! Oh yes, about the Hao name change. It might of been changed simply for grammar reasons.
Here me out.
"Hao" sounds like "How" (as Sam said)
Now "How" is a very common adverb in the english language.
They probably changed the name to make things a little easier for themselves. Not to say I advocate this behavior. Just that I can see a bit of the reasoning.
I've read once that names with "Z' and "K" tend to sound harsher and therefore names that include these letters and sound make good "evil" names. So that can be some reasoning as well. However, those of us who know Hao realise that EVIL isn't really an accurate description.
(in case you are wondering where I heard the "Z" and "K" thing. It was mentioned once by Brian Jaques, author of the "Redwall" series.)

*cough* Well, I could agree with both of the reasons why Hao's name was changed, but I think Lovely's is more...erm...believable. Hao doesn't look so much like a native american...(it's the hair isn't it?) he looks a bit cowboyish (blame the pants)...he does dress in a native american outfit in the manga though...
Plus, it would be just odd in the dub if someone questions something with his name in the...um..question...like so:
"How can Hao do that?!"
Meh, it's just an example...=P

Yeah, Lovey's explanation works well too. We all know how hard it is to get inside the heads of the 4Kids dubbers. So I'm sure there could be more reasons as well.
