(I pasted most of my post from another topic. So shoot me, I'm lazy. ) Ever since I saw episode 56 subbed, I have had a horrible hunch... I have a feeling 4Kids may abandon the series and not dub beyond episode 55. Why? Well, I know Jetix are weird, but showing just three new episodes before showing reruns again is NOT something they would normally do. I have a feeling 4Kids may have abandoned the series. Episodes 56 onwards get pretty violent (mass killings, etc). And I don't think even 4Kids could fully sugarcoat all the violent stuff going on. I mean, Shaman King probably is one of the most violent shows 4Kids do, and all the deaths towards the end of the series are almost essential for the plot. What do you all think? Also, how would you feel if they DID ditch the show? ^^;;; It would surely be very shameful for 4Kids, as they have never had to leave a series unfinished before, to my knowledge. First, when they only showed 3 new eps, I was angry ad confused. Now I have seen how crazy the last 9 episodes get, I now fear the worst for the dub of Shaman King. (But, maybe it's a good thing if 4Kids don't dub them. XD)

I hope not! How else would I get to see the rest of the series? But in the preview for the next season at the end of the first season they showed a few scenes past from epi 55 I think. But this doesn't really mean anything.

you bring up a good point, Rapid (some British wisdom there, only Britism people would know XD)
I say it wouldn't be unlike 4kids to just leave out 10 episodes, and just go, "Oh ya, Yoh becomes Shaman King. The End." Hey, they edited out more than half of CCS, so it wouldn't be the worst they've done I guess.
however, if they do take this completely irrational course of action, I hope they at least release the last couple of episodes on uncut DVD (wishful thinking).

Yes, that could happen! I think it's in episode 56-57, that ***One of the Xlaws is shot. It shows a sillohetted image of him from behind, and he looks like Swiss Cheese.***
So by all mean, it's possible.

I don't know what episode it happens, but remember FOXBOX showed the teaser for Shaman King's second season. This showed what I would assume is near the last episode. Implying that they already dubbed it. Meaning, it will likily be shown one way or another. I am not sure if this means it will stop on Jetix/4kids TV. But it likily means it will be aired. I think mabey you all are just being a little paranoid.
Anyways, with this sorta thing and the DVD thing, and the slow Manga release, looks like Shaman King is quite unlucky in the english speaking world.
In a way, 4kids HAS abandoned Shaman King no matter how you look at it. It is not on 4kidsTV's fall line up, and the DVDs seem to have been axed at least as it stands now. I believe come the fall, unless syndication starts, Shaman King will be reduced to the slow, painful Manga releases. And the card game... but I have a feeling it is not doing so well....
It is a shame, Shaman King had so much going for it, a GOOD dub (in my opinion) AND uncut DVD releases. A shame indeed.

Thats not good! they shouldn't be aloud to do that i know they can and if they do decide to abandon it they will no matter how unfair it is but still! i dont think they should its annoying enough they only show three new eps but to leave it at that, it would be just plain irritating

It is not on 4kidsTV's fall line up, it's probably not in 4kids's fall lineup because there are only 13 episodes left. There isn't much room for another season...

If they did, I would cry. And throw rocks at the TV. Which wouldn't really do any good...it would just make me feel better...for about 3 seconds...

Hmmm....I have a hypothesis here.
4kids has a partnership with FUNimation right? Well, should 4kids abandon SK after episode 55 then could the possibilty come with FUNimation taking over the series and airing on a different timeslot on, say, Cartoon Network with less editing than 4kids?
If not, then the last few episodes will most likely be a DVD-release only. With and advertising campagin going something like "THE EPISODES TOO SHOCKING FOR TV!" or something along those lines. Like I said, only a hypothesis.
Besides, If 4kids is gonna abandon any of their shows, I think it's gonna be One Piece

It's too far for 4Kids to abandon Shaman King.
Cardcaptors, AFAIK, was only abandoned on US TV. It may have been cancelled later on Canadian and British TV.
As said earlier, One Piece is the possibility for cancellation.

Cardcaptors was NOT abandonded in the U.S. It FINISHED. There are 70 episodes in CCS and only 39 episodes were aired in the U.S., but the series did reach the end. They just had a ton of episodes skipped/combined in between the beginning and the ending, then they took the series off the air on TV because all that was left were reruns, and CC was a horrible dub anyway, so it's not like many people were watching it. I think you guys are being just a little bit paranoid. Don't you think that maybe the reason why the episodes are going into reruns so much is because they might want to have the series finish airing in the U.S. first? After all, 4Kids is an American company and the Shaman King dub first started airing in the U.S., so why shouldn't the U.S. be the first English-speaking country to finish the show, considering they were the first English-speaking country to air the show?
And I don't see what the big deal is about Shaman King not returning to Fox this Fall. The show is reaching its end and it's not like there's anymore episodes of it that are being produced, so why should it stay on? All that they would have to broadcast would be endless reruns and they only have like five hours to air cartoons, so why would they air endless reruns of a bad dub when they could be making room for new episodes of other shows or newer series to begin airing? It's not like Fox is CN or something, so they can't keep the same old shows airing in reruns all the time. And I thought you guys hated the Shaman King dub, anyway. So, if the dub gets taken off the air, what's the big deal?

If they continue to show new ep.'s of SK each week, they will finish by July here in the U.S. so yes, SK will probably not be thrown into reruns after it's completion it will probably be done away with in favor of a new crappy anime. Or a third episode of the Winx Club or a revival of the Cramp Twins!! >_<

But you're right they will probably just end it this summer I don't think they'd cut it short because they've already merchandised it to hell and back. ^^;
