They cut the FAUST!!!! I was soooo excited to see how they would handel that! I've been looking forward to it for WEEKS! KuroiInu-chan and I were theorizing and hypothisizing (oooh, PH34R) about what Faust's dub-VA would do...
"When Choco was getting attacked by the Sof in his dream, they kept in some random guy getting burnt! Poor random guy, though"
I thought that that 'random guy' was the old-dude (GOME! I can't remember his name...) who gave Choco Mik, and died... Which is why I was quite confused when Choco started looking around and calling for that mentor... guy...(wow, Choco Mik really makes me think of chocolate milk.)
According to what I've seen, the original reason Tamao beats Chocolove is that he pronounced her name wrong. He was not commenting on her breath. Choco said Tamago (egg) rather than Tamao. (Ryu made this mistake once in the manga, when Tamao first shows up). Although, with the breath thing, I suppose if it was a stinky egg...? *shrugs*
I thought it was the point that Choco's joke wasn't roll around on the ground funny. Tamao just has a... strong... sence of... humor? *shrugs again, then eats MooShi*
Oh, and yeah, I noticed the French accent. (mind goes to Mr.Cheeks (or whomever) from Ultimate Muscle) They seem to enjoy changing Ponchi and Conchi's voices. It's like every time they speak it's different. I think they may be less annoying than they were in the beginning of the series, though...
Part of the show was cut out to me by a comercial break. The adds ran long, and it cut in in the middle of Pirka's showing Horohoro the code. Did it cut out any Faust? I cannot remember. But it seemed kind of odd to me how Faust was suddenly there later. He was not found, he just... appeared. With his Faust powers! *is happy with that theory*
Has anybody else noticed that Faust in the dub seems to have delayed-vocal-reactions? Think back to... was it when they first saw that ruined village (?), in the drowning/blue cave eppi. Everyone: "Ooooh!" Faust, as an afterthought: "Oooh" He didn't speak until the camera was on him. I guess that's a little understandible, though. I just find it amuzing.
(ShiroiUsagi thinks of Faust, thinking: "everybody else is saying it... I'd better, too" Faust outloud: "o-Oooh!") In this week's eppisode, when everyone was coming to see Yoh, they were all 'hi!' when the camera was on them. Faust called to Yoh afterwards. I don't remember if that was how it was in the original.
Awww! They cut the 'melon theif' line...
