XDD that made me laugh... this confused me how is there an 'influence' when shaman king IS a Japanese anime? and I don't know why but I just busted out laughing at this.

I've been corrupted by seeing Yoh get beat up. Yep, that's it.
Nope, my starting to read guy/guy lemons at age eleven has NOTHING to do with my dirty mind and actual *gasp* sexual urges at age sixteen. It's all the fault of those @#$@%ing overly violent Japanese cartoons that are influencing American cartoons (which are better and patriotic and YAYAYAYAYAYAY for the fundies!) and overly sexual programs like Disney's "Sister Sister".
Never mind that there's a kind of catharsis in seeing characters get the crap beaten out of them (even sympathetic ones), that I've got hormones I hate, and that *gasp* I don't plan to run out and spread my legs for the first hooker I encounter.
Am I the only one tempted to flood the inboxes of this Parent Television Council with Goatse and Tubgirl? Just to make them whine to the authorities about how they're being harassed?

Am I the only one tempted to flood the inboxes of this Parent Television Council with Goatse and Tubgirl? Just to make them whine to the authorities about how they're being harassed? Ahahaha, if you did that I'd worship you or something! That is brilliant! You should tell those bitchy whiny overprotective, undercaring parents, "Would you rather us show your kids this?" HELLO.JPG BITCHES!!!! Seriously, those are exactly the kinds of people I hate. When will they ever learn that because of them, the world is such a shitty place to live in, where f**king shitty two-faced parents are the cause of the worlds problems. If you don't want your children seeing violence (which probably happens in the househole anyways), then don't let them watch it!!! It doesn't take a f@cking rocket scientist to figure that one out! Oh wait, maybe it does! F@cking asshole parents. GAH I GO TOURETTES CRAZY ON THEIR MOTHERF@CKINGASSES!!!!! Oh, and I'm using @ to censor the word "f**k" because I think it's funny. >.<

parents are stupid. "The analysis covered a three-week period during the summer of 2005 for a total of 443.5 hours of children’s programming.[glow=red,2,300] The study did not include children’s educational programming."[/glow]
This is where they really f**ked up. They don't give a flying f**k about their education. Thats why some kids are so f**king ignorant when it comes to reallity. They do not care about what their children are actually learning.
In less than five years I will be a certified (art) teacher. I will not tollerate a few upset white parents promoting ignorance. why dont you tell the kid to turn off the tv and read. When presenting a case like this you must look at it from all angles. Do parents really want to hide the truth of what the world really is? how are kids ever going to learn if all their parents do is hide the truth from them.
well when it comes violence good thing hellsing or berserk isnt on television. (for the parents sake)
ok now. sister sister. They failed to identify that lisa is the mom of one of the twins. she is an adult. I wonder if they ever went back and saw batman from the 60's. I grew up with that show. Its filled with violence and sexual inuendo, but its FUNNY!!!! A SIX YEAROLD IS NOT GOING TO REALLY UNDERSTAND INNUENDO!!!!!
[glow=red,2,300]Don't currupt the children, save the children. "You know what I say, F#ck the children!!" -george carlin[/glow].
Personally, I really miss old american cartoons like tom and jerry, and all those others that arent played on tv anymore. They are filled with violence, sex, and adult humor. THEY WERE FUNNY!!!!!!
(Innle: we could show them the worst fanart ever. muwahahah)

First off....What the f*ck kind of statement is that!?
It seems that by already reading the title of this article, various angles are failed to be considered or included in this study.
Not only that, but the actual content of this article seems EXTREMELY overanylitical. (Once again, we find an anvil falling on Wile E. Coyote's head to be the work of Satan so to speak.)
I can't stand this kind of thing. I remember the old Nickelodeon, I remember Ren & Stimpy, I remember the old Looney Tunes, and to another extent, Beavis and Butthead. I could describe those shows as "funny" and "entertaining" not "role-model" or "beacuse I saw that on the TV I'm supposed to do that in real life!"
Were definelty on the same wavelength here so I won't really say too much more.
I'm sorry, I really don't think that "parenting is a 'sometimes' job." Try interacting and talking to your kids about that sort of thing once in a while! That just might be the best way to ensure that your child can distinguish between fantasy and reality!
Bender can sum this issue up a little better:
"Have you ever tried just turning off the TV, sitting down with your kids, and hitting them?"

It's funny, because at the end of the show, it was revealed that the whole episode was just a huge gag, with the censor "bleeps" (the aforementioned dolphin chirps, but there were others) being the swears themselves.
It's amusing how they were able to notice that Spongebob and Patrick were cursing like sailors (haha), but didn't notice the ultimate joke of the episode.

I almost have no words to justify just how ignorant some people are. Not stupid, ignorant. Now, these are children's shows mind you--but in all honesty, when I was a child, I enjoyed violence and horror. I'm thankful to have a good family, because when I was coming up as a wee one, we read and spent time doing creative things like drawing and storytelling. I don't even think I knew what daytime TV was until I was dropped off in dayschool for a while (the woman actually asked my mom just what my problem was, because I didn't sit down and waste brain cells with the other kids when she went off to neglect tending to us).
But I can see that their complaints are justified in some ways. Some parents are bad about it (and probably use it as a cover-up for the fact that they don't monitor what their children watch), but not always. The violence in Dragonball Z did stem violent behavior from my brother, and I've seen Yu Yu Hakusho banned in a household of a friend of mine because of the same thing (violent behavior in her younger brother), and it's not because of a lack of parenting skills. The boys act out what they see, and the parents discourage the watching of it. Not because they're bad parents, 'ignorant to the way things are', or haven't taught them the difference between fantasy or reality, but because they actually do care about what their children are seeing in the time that they don't spend with them. It doesn't mean that they're neglectful in what they're letting their children see. The way children act isn't always a good image of parenting, s'all.

While the parents are busy with Shaman King and SpongeBob, they might as well consider bashing Power Rangers for blowing up bad guys and Pokemon for abusing wild animals.

*shakes head sadly* It's amazing how idiotic some people are. Honestly. The first ammendment of the Constitution of the United States is freedom of speech. If you don't want your children to see something, fine, don't let them see it, but don't prevent everyone else from seeing it too.

Guys, please send e-mails lamenting the factual errors and errors in judgement. I sent this: "I am disappointed in your article about what kids watch on TV. www.parentstv.org/PTC/publications/release/2006/0302.aspYour article makes factual errors AND it ignores a lot of facts. In addition, the proposed solution is not feasible and the solution ignores a simple fact. " VIOLENCE – The influence of Japanese anime on children’s cartoons is quite evident. This very intense scene took place on Fox’s Shaman King:" Shaman King IS a Japanese televsion show. If you want examples of shows INFLUENCED by Japanese animation, try American shows like Teen Titans. " “Parents often take it for granted that children’s programs are, by definition, child-friendly. While a lot of entertainment programming for children is perfectly wholesome, parents nevertheless have to worry about the part of it that isn’t appropriate. This disturbing trend signifies that parents can no longer be confident that their children will not have access to dark violence, sexual innuendo or offensive language on entertainment programming targeted toward children. We do realize that this is probably not a deliberate effort to undermine the social fabric of young children, but this thoughtlessness still produces the same end result,” said L. Brent Bozell, president of the PTC." How does seeing fantasy violence ruin kids forever? Kids have seen action shows like Superman for eons? Superman does the same things Yoh does. Superman punches, kicks, and beats up bad guys. As long as you teach your kids not to fight like Superman does, it's okay. In addition the English version of Shaman King has been edited in many ways. Names have been changed. Crosses and other religious items have been removed. Blood is stylized silver and is removed. 4Kids has edited this series so extensively to cater to the American audience. home.earthlink.net/~shamanking-uncensored/Many American fans of the series are upset over the editing because of parental demands and complaints. I see that you are ungrateful of 4Kids' catering to your children. Have you ever considered not allowing your children to watch the said programming? It's very easy to do. Instead of trying to get something changed (especially if your children are under the age of 7). Have the TV turned off and/or lock it. If your kids visit a friend's house, tell the parents that your kids are not allowed to watch a said program. Instead of trying to force American TV shows and companies to cater to your demands, YOU should be more active in your child's life. Watch shows with them. Tell them that certain acts are not okay for certain reasons. E.G. "No, fighting only works in Shaman King because it is a fantasy world. In the real world, fighting only makes problems worse." (It's a bit of a fib, but it will work for children)."

You admit it, and reinforce the idea that Shaman King should never have aired in a kids' TV block to begin with by doing so. Thus, linking to your site is good!
