About Oversouls *Spoiler...I think...*

[Matamune]

As of anything, this is just a random act to inform people of character's oversouls, to those who don't know, though I'm betting everyone almost knows, especially Lovely and all the rest. ^_^ But I just felt like posting this to clear any questions on the character's oversouls. Please know this is based on the MANGA, not the anime. ;D And if anything posts late, it's cause I'm being thrown off the computer. >.>

Yoh's Oversoul-Spirit of Sword



This is Yoh's Big Oversoul, first shown in the manga in volume number 15 against the match against 'Ice Men' in Hunbari Onsen's first Shaman Match. This oversoul is created by first, Amidamaru in Harusame in The Soul Sword or dagger or The Soul of the Sword....((I think this is the translation of it, if not please inform me. XD My mind fails me at 1:00 a.m.))

The result: A HUGE sword that is translucent due to the fact that it is a 'Spirit' sort of thing. I think it's about 10 or 11 Manta's if he was lying down on the ground. Yoh has his hand in the oversoul as usual and moves with him fluidly like water despite the fact that it's quite huge.

The reason: 'The Soul Sword' or something, is an item that extracts the soul of a sword, an inanimate object. When Amidamaru becomes one with Harusame, that combination is extracted by 'The Soul Sword'...

The Soul Sword: It was the sword of the God of the Katanas or so if I believe. I'll try reading my manga over for anything I missed.

Origin: The 'Spirit of Sword' is actually based on an ability someone Yoh knew back when he was 10. The name of that person, or in this case, animal, is Matamune. Matamune was a spirit who was able to create his form using Huryoku. However, as a living cat, he learned his ability from his master,


Hao.


Matamune was Hao's one true friend and Hao explained that even though Matamune's body will die, he will be able to retain his form by his spirit, to do so required huryoku which Hao gave. Matamune was also Yoh's first true friend when they met. Yoh was on his way to see his 'fiance' in Aomori and Matamune was his escort.

(( There's a thesis that Anna has of why Yoh considered Manta his friend in the first place. Think Matamune and Manta. She comes up with the idea that Manta is actually 'Mantamune' XD It's cause Manta and Matamune are near the same size and such. XD))

Back then Anna had been quite the loner, but it was because she had uncontrollable powers if you put it in a way, and summoned Oni up because of her thoughts which the Oni feed upon. Matamune had to protect both Yoh and Anna when the Onis attacked. His 'attack' is the same as Yoh's Big Oversoul. However, the thing is, because Matamune does not have a physical body in the world and huryoku is his energy, everytime he attacks he uses the stored huryoku which keeps him alive to the world of the living. Near the end of this flashback, Yoh integrates Matamune and uses the huryoku Matamune lends him. He is no longer able to keep his form because he has lost his energy.

And...being thrown off the computer.
