On AoD they say volumes 3, 4, and 5are being released on Dec. 12 this year. iirc, that's just a date they use for when they're unaware on a release date - right stuf usually uses 12/12/2012 for when they have no clue (i.e. delays), and i would assume 12/12/2005 would mean "sometime this year". unfortunately, right stuf and amazon still haven't changed their release dates for them.

Amazon's got YGO volume 4 listed as shipping in 2-3 days.
It's not. I placed the order and it said shipping in DECEMBER!

I think the inevitable is, there will be no uncut DVDs in the future that are released by 4kids. I mean, they just screwed Australia over with their Uncut One Piece DVDs, which "will be released on a later date". Does that sound familiar? It's the exact same line used for the SK Uncut and YGO Uncut DVDs. And yet they never showed. There's no sign of them being released either. SO, i say that the only way to get any Uncut DVDs of Shaman King, Yu-gi-oh!, or One Piece is to wait until 4kids' licence expires, and hope a more credible company picks them up and re does them..

The truth of all truths... why the uncut DVDs were canceled is revealed (thanks to YGO! Uncensored owner, Kevin T Rod). I can't post the full details (seeing as how what else I know Kevin will probably want to keep private and there's probably more to it), but basically what happened is that 4Kids got greedy with the uncuts, FUNi didn't comply, and OH SNAPZ, uncuts get yanked.
So 4Kids wasn't being stupid/biased, just greedy.

So instead of being big retarded money-grubbing bastards, they're just big money grubbing bastards...Hmmm...
I wonder if its that same principle which is preventing an uncut One Piece from seeing the light of day...
...and does this also mean that FUNimation and 4kids are officially out of terms with each other?

Not really, FUNi does still distribute 4Kids DVDs.
There probably isn't a problem arisen from 4Kids wanting more profit off of those, seeing as how you know, they sell like crap.
Last I heard, One Piece is still being "considered". Viz did bring up a Naruto fashioned release for One Piece, so maybe they're waiting to see how that turns out?

I hope so. That would'nt be a bad idea at all, I was already planning on getting the Naruto box set when they get released. (Although I've got a feeling that even the edited-for -TV version will do pretty good too.)
And I could easily see Viz's method working for the other Shonen Jump that 4kids has, Shaman King and Yu-Gi-Oh.

I'm afraid that FUNi has the sub-license to release uncut Shaman King (I don't know if they could pass the ball to Viz to release Yu-Gi-Oh! since they only have distribution rights, but probably not). If the uncuts are to continue, something will have to be worked out between the two.
Also, this may just be wishful thinking but if the uncut Shaman King releases DID continue, I would hope that 4Kids is able to sell the uncut episodes, or even edited episodes, to Cartoon Network. TV airings would definitely help the DVD release sell.

I dunno. A new TV airing would r0x0rz, but I'd rather take uncut DVDs.
I'll give it a whirl though. It'd be especially awesome if the uncut dub was aired on Toonami or something.
BTW, what is this guy's position in 4Kids?
