Morty Manta is only in the dub. Yes, it is uncut, so it's strange they continue to use the dub names.
But the sub had all the original names, they're just romanized.

Do you know if the subtitles for Japanese is accurate in the uncut (supposedly) DVDs? I want the originals, but they aren't in my price range right now.

Well, the subtitles are actually dubtitles (in other words, they use the dub translation but just replace the names). So the english subs, and the Jap. subs are the same, only with different names.
But they are pretty accurate, like Lovely mentioned before, they're about 95% accurate. I agree. The only thing that annoys me is that the subtitles don't really match sometimes with the Jap. dialouge
Example:
Audio: [insert some word here] o_0 Subs: AHH!

I was wondering if this delay is going to affect the uncut Yugioh DVDs any or is it just Shaman King? If it's just Shaman King, maybe they're not going to cancel their releases, but they're just trying to fix some sort of techincal error.

The thing is, they might be putting them off because not a lot of people are buying them. But that might be because either 1) they are expensive (I spent 80 bucks on them!) or 2) nobody knows about 'em. I mean, it wasn't exactly publisized anywhere except online and in Shonen Jump (that I knew of anyway) and when I went to Suncoast to buy them, I couldn't find them.
I asked the guy behind the counter about them and he looked at me as if I was a moron. (I ended up "pre"ordering them).
I've been to several video stores and the like since and have never seen the uncut DVDs for sale.
It kinda makes me angry. Like when 4Kids released uncut Ultraman and Ultumate Muscle (<- I think) and when nobody bought 'em claimed that people didn't want uncuts O_<

I bet it's some sort of scam!! Like, they finally agree to release uncut DVDs, but they don't promote them anywhere, that way, no one buys them. Because in fact, no one knows they're out! That way, 4kids can claim: "Oh, no one bought them, that must mean they don't want Uncut DVDs... because they never knew...mwahahaha!" (Random Person) "You say something? o_0" (4kids guy) "What? Oh, nothing..." It's a scam I tell you!! >< ........ Nah, I'm just kidding...^_^;;; I couldn't help it. XD

They seem to be selling pretty well in my area. I still cannot find them, whenever I go into Wal-MArt all they ever seem to have is one copy of the second Yugioh DVD. This elads me to believe they got the Shaman King ones at one point...

I'm pissed yet not totally bummed. I can always go on ebay and buy all three Japanese boxsets for $60.
You have to blame 4Kids though, they didn't even plug them at all, too damn expensive for just three episodes, and nobody had them the first week. Me and my Grandma (she bought them for me) searched everywhere for them. I bought Vol. 1 in FYE, and Vol. 2 in Media Play.

I got them for $25 (though it was the HK version T-T, which is the only kind I could find on eBay). So, ya. I'll share Sanji's opinion, in that they're too dam expensive...I'm also pissed, but not totally bummed.

$20SRP for 3 episodes is hardly expensive considering most anime DVD's are about $29.99 for 4-5 episodes . Basic math people. And yes, I realise the "boxsets" are super cheap on E-bay, but one must remember that those sets are also subpar quality bootlegs.

Lovely got to it first >< And yes, it's not that expensive x_O Concernign subtitles, there seems to be two versions of them. If you have a remote control for your DVD, click Subtitles two or three times and you notice (at least for me) 1, 2, OFF. I forgot how they go, but one is one that seems to follow English subtitles or the dub names and the other is the accurate ones. Such as, 'Morty Manta' and 'Oyamada Manta'. You'll notice they use the correct name then. So, there are two version, just so you people know =3 *restating what Resurie said mind ya* And I can't seem to access this via Option screen...So, use your remote control~

Bah. BAH. My FLCL boxset cost me something around 70 dollars...and I never got that artbook it supposedly came with!! ><
But FLCL's animation is expensive, so meh.
And I got the SK DVDs for around $13. =P Thanks to Lovely for posting the CD Universe link. ^_^
It's always more fun to buy things from online stores. No mean people behind the front desk who don't know what the hell you're talking about! >P#nosmileys

While I agree that individually the uncut Shaman King DVDs are very cheap compared to most other anime DVDs, 4Kids is only releasing three episodes per volume, and it'll just end up making the series on a whole more expensive (not to mention take up excessive space on my video shelf). Now if 4Kids would release six episodes per volume for the same exact price of $20, that would be fantastic, but if they did release six episodes for every DVD, they'd probably price them at $40. ><
