Okay, well really I have two fast questions.
1) In episode 5 (I think; it's the one where Anna shows up), there is this one spot when Anna is talking about the Shaman tourny, and there is this person floating in the air, surrounded by, I think, the X-Laws. Who is that person? At first I thought it was Hao, then I saw they had white hair, then I thought it was Jeanne, and I noticed they have no shirt o.O so...
If I knew how to do screenshots, I'd provide one.
2) I've notice Shaman King is often referred to as Mankin. What's that mean? (I really should prolly know this -_-) Did it come from:
shaman king
sha MANKIN g ?

Not sure about the first comment, but as for the second, you got the reason why it's referred to as Mankin.

(Don't feel stupid, a Loooooooot of people don't realise what it means at first. Including me back in the day. I felt so silly when I finally figured it out ^^; .)

Mankin actually comes from writing. While SAYING "mankin" actually doesn't save you much from "shaman king" (even when using the Japanese "shaman kingu"), but it does in writing. To write "Shaman King" in Japanese takes 7 characters (shi-ya ma n ki n gu). To write "mankin" takes 4 (ma n ki n).
Others make a lot more sense. Like "Hagaren" for "Hagane no Renkinjutsushi" (or FMA for Fullmetal Alchemist), or "HaruToki" for "Harukanaru Toki no Naka de ~ Hachiyou Shou" (good show).
As for the image from episode 5... Look at the pants! It's clearly Hao... Yes, those are the X-Laws, but are they looking on with awe? Nope... it's not light hair, it's just shadowed.

I always thought it was Hao...but I don't know...I always tell myself I'm going to pause that scene but I never do.  Also, if it was Hao, how come they showed another shot of him after that scene? (X-Laws-Hangumi-Hao is how it went I think) I can take a screencap for you, but I'm at school right now, so I'll have to wait until I get home. >< That is if no one posts it before me.....><;; [EDIT] Whee~ I'm at home now...so erm... Yeah, after looking closer. It's Jeanne...xD;; Yes, she has no shirt for some odd reason...but it is her... ;; Jeanne in the bright shiny light with no shirt! 0_o The X-Laws staring at Jeanne ...And err....here's the real shot of Hao...if it matters...XD;; Jeanne has poofy pants too...when she's in that night gown thingy of hers... ; |

Thanks everybody! It all makes sense now...('cept for the fact Jeanne doesn't have a shirt ) What th... On my SK DVDs (got the uncut 4Kids ones), the X-Laws' logo isn't there... Weird... But my questions have been answered, so if Lovely sees fit, she can lock this now. (Not like you need my permission anyways, Lovely, but... ^_^) (Btw, I love that picture of Hao) |

Character designs can change from the begining of a series to later in a series. So maybe... they wanted a shirtless Jeanne ^^; ?
Oh, and the JPN T.V broadcast and the JPN DVD masters are sometimes different in Shaman King. For example, the episode 1 star thing. In the t.v broadcast, the stars weren't all that impressive in episode 1. In the DVD's they brightened them up considerably.
The director might of thought he was being a bit TOO straightforward showing the X LAWS logo, so he probably had it removed to be a bit more vauge.
(you'll notice Hao's gloves don't have his name on them as they ussually do.)
Because of the red tint on the ends of Jeanne's hair in that pic, In the past I had always thought that that person was a character who posses red wings that shows up muuuuuuch later. Looking at it closer.... yeah... it's Jeanne ^^; .

If only she'd kept the pants! ^_^ Hao's pants are much cooler, but I think Jeanne's rival Tamao's.
