i think....the elements yohmei mentioned are kinda wrong...the original 5 elements of the pentagram were: fire, water, wood, earth, and metal. theres no wind...theres a whole cycle but its too long to post so nyah. Cycle? Do you mean in the show or real life? Enlighten us... In the show Yohmei mentioned "the spirit world" being the fifth...I've been told one system is Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, Soul...I'd like to know more about what you know Resurie!

the whole thing has to do with Hao-sama.... hence the reason i know about this XD i try to find out everything about him...yea..well.. In his first life as a onmyouji (a type of japanese shaman), Hao mastered all five elements. According to Chinese mysticism...i believe..( ) The five elements and the powers of nature are represented by a five pointed star (the pentagram) Based on Chinese mysticism the five elements that created the earth and what all nature and things are made of are Wood, Fire, Earth, Gold (Metal), and Water. Each element can be weakened or stregnthened by another element, in an endless cycle: Wood fuels fire. Fire burns and becomes ash which is Earth. From the Earth, there is Metal. Metal is melted into liquid which is Water from. Water helps Wood to grow. Wood weakens Earth because Wood can be placed into the Earth. Fire weakens Metal because it melts Metal. Earth is used to absorb Water. Metal can cut through Wood. Water is used to put out Fire. hmm...guess it wasnt so long after all...anyhoo...Haos powerful because he can combine his power over the five elements with the Spirit of Fire....he can transform the spirit into Water, Earth, Metal, or Wood at will, and so an attack directed at the Spirit of Fire can be stopped by changing the element. Thus protecting the Spirit of Fire and himself from most situations.... thats all i know...im not so sure about it being in real life or just the series...but if its based off chinese mysticism...then maybe it does have to do with real life... yohmei said the fifth was the spirit world? ...i mustve missed that...but...i believe thats wrong...the spirit world cant be an element...can it...?

Yeah, it sounded funny to me too. Yohmei was building up his huge speech about Zeke and his power and he names off the four points, and I'm like, the fifth is soul...Zeke mastered it, and that's how he can do what he does...and then Yohmei says spirit world and I'm like, uhh...okay...
And now for my ramblings... Seeing as how the Asakura family is Japanese, I believe he's a Japanese Shinto Priest...but I don't know any specifics about the religion except that they believe that Japanese people are directly descended from the Sun Goddess...
The elements make sense though...the days of the week are assigned those elements with the sun and the moon taking up the other two days...
Someone like VisciousKatana or Lovely or someone else well versed in Japanese / Chinese Religion might be able to fill in the gaps...
