Okay. In the Prelims, Ren said he had one loss and one win, and had to beat yoh.
And did'nt he say Yoh was the only one who ever beat him, at one point?
Well then who handed him that earlyer loss..?

Ren didn't have a win and a loss. He had a win and a draw. ^^;

Don't quote me on this, but I think it went down like this:
In the dub, Len had one loss and one draw and had to defeat Yoh to advance. In the original, Ren won all of his battles and faced Yoh out of a personal vendetta.

Unless I'm very much mistaken (I think this is right for the manga at least, though), Ren had one win and this would be his second battle, but there was only one more spot open for the next round of the tournament. But then, I'm no expert.

No. in the original Yoh said "I can't loose. Then I can't move on and Anna will be mad at me."
then Ren said "I can't loose either. If I do, I cannot be Shaman King."

Just a guess, but maybe he said that because he felt that if he lost to anyone, he wouldn't be good enough to be the Shaman King...

But then, I'm no expert. Actually, Ren had a win and a draw, and Yoh had a win and a loss. They were both fighting for the last spot to get to the next round.

Original Anime: Ren had 2 wins. He was just fighting Yoh to settle things. Original Manga: Ren had 1 win. His match against Yoh would be his second fight, BUT after Yoh there was no one left to fight. In other words, in the manga the Yoh vs Ren match was the last of the "In Tokyo" fights.
