I don't think a lot of you probably don't like Pokemon, but does anyone here likes Pokemon? It was one of the first anime I liked, and I still like it to this day. My favorite characters are Ash, Misty, and Brock.

I used to watch Pokemon when it first came out. After a while I just got really tired of it because it just became too repetitive for me. So I don't watch it anymore. I'm more of a Digimon fan (but only 1st season and Frontier, I couldn't get into the other seasons).

I like Pokemon...in a light teriyaki sauce with...oh wait, yeah, the show.
I really liked the show when it first came out...about that time I just wanted something light and funny to watch after classes.
I was a huge James fan for awhile, even cosplayed as him at a college rave (50 people in black...2 in bright white with big red 'R's on their chests.)
Once they finished the first story arc, the show got stale for me.
On the bright side it defined the pet monster genre and brought us a legacy of other shows! I'm a huge fan of Digimon Frontier (jp) and Shaman King is kinda based off of the pet monster philosophy...good stuff.

Pokemon is cool. I'd like the anime more if it didn't have to go through the 4Kids Treatment. Seriously, would giving us as little as Japanese language tracks on the DVDs be THAT bad?(I think that 4Kids has a grudge against the people who like anime that hasn't been dubbed down to a 5th grade level)

I liked the first season. Just until the end of the first league. What was that one called again? The one where you first meet er... that Richie guy. Yea. O.o I dunno. I've never heard the original so I can't compare it, but IMO the dub was pretty ok if you don't know how it really was. Just the first season though. >P

I liked Pokemon when it first was released, too. I even bought one of the games (Pokemon Yellow). It started getting old towards the Johot League arc, which was very filler-ish. I did enjoy the movies, though, my favs being Pokemon: The First Movie and Pokemon The Movie 3. Unfortunately, I'm a dubbie when it comes to Pokemon. I've never seen the Japanese version and other than Pokemon The Movie 3, (which DVD had a nice full-length audio commentary track included) I have no clue what was changed in the dub. I wish 4kids would release subbed versions of all of their anime series, so I could see them. Sadly, I think we have a very slim chance of that happening.

Never seen the dub,only played the games. Me more being the manga type, I've only watched the Japanese and Korean pokemon versions. In anyway, I have to say I have no idea who you guys are talking about But the main guy's name is Satoshi, the orange haired girl Kasumi, the rock pokemon guy is Takeshi. I still have no idea who you mean by Ash, Misty, and Brock.... Are they minor characters or are they the dub names of the ones I mentiones above? *gasp* I hope not....

Yeah, it's the dub names
Ash= Satoshi Misty= Kasumi (which is actually a literal translation I believe.) Brock= Takeshi (I think, I'm not positive ^^; .)
Erm. yeah, I liked the show in the begining, but then it just got old. WAY to repetitive. The story needed something. I dunno. Like Ash/Satoshi finding his father. A person gets killed by a group of angry Raichu's. Having Someone think, "hey, putting these critters in these little balls and then forcing them to fights seems a bit mean." The Team Rocket group of Meowth, Jessie and James (Nyasu, Musashi, Kojiro) finally coming to the conclusion that, "hey, maybe that Pikachu just isn't worth it. Lets get drunk and play ping pong!" I dunno, SOMETHING According to people I've talked to online, the Pokemon dub isn't really all THAT bad (content speaking.) It even has some of the original music (in addition to having extra music put into spots that originally didn't have music 0_o .) Heck, it even has some of the original voices (namely pikachu and some other pokemon.)
------------ The rest of this post is bit ... o.k, a lot off topic
By the way, I did actually become a fan of Digimon as well ^_^;. My favorite season was the third one. (I always wished I could see the original Japanese version of that season.) I discovered recently that the third season was written (directed?) by the same guy who wrote(directed?) for "Lain" and "Big O". So that explains the odd mood of the tamers season (and probably why I enjoyed it so much ^^;.)

Ash, Misty and Brock are the three main characters. I guess then they would be the ones you mentioned. Satoshi is Ash, Kasumi is Misty, and Takeshi is Brock. And Jesse and James are the Team Rocket villians.
edit: beaten out by Lovely...oh well...sigh

I wish that Dogau's backpack(the unceonsored site for Pokemon) did SDAs, because I seriously doubt that the charaters talk as stupidly as they do in the dub as they do in the original. And the story DOES need a little more plot-the really good storylines seem to be reserved for the movies.

Oh yea, the movies are actually really good. And the games are too. The same thing with new pokemon and places in the games is actually really good. Pokemon Red was actually the very first RPG I ever played. ^^ (Though I didn't know it at the time.)
I really liked the first and second movies. I always pictured Lugia's voice to be a girl's though. XD

I used to like Pokemon. I mean, not that I hate it or anything now, but it just got too repetitive for me. I still try to catch it every so often (that is, if I can force myself up early enough on the weekends. xD).

Just an interesting note, but I once read somewhere that the name Ash ( or was it Satoshi? Now I'm confused ^^;; ) meant "lucky", which actually seems to fit his character well since he seems to be pretty lucky most of the time. ^^;;

i still sorta like pokemon...i mean if nothings on...ill watch it...but like everyone is saying...it gets way too repetitive: *ash and the others run into person/pokemon and become friends *person/pokemon has problem, ash and co. decide to help *team rocket comes along and tries to steal pikachu or pokemon *either team rocket fails or ash foils their plans *everyone is happy and the narrater signs off with a lame pun thats basically what happens in every episode and now kasumi is gone and was replaced by that may girl (haruka in jap.) i for one think she and her little brother are annoying...one reason why pokemon was fun was because misty always kicked peoples asses and just a fun note: jesses jap. name is musashi, and james is kojirou....supposedly their english names were given to them relating to the western outlaw Jesse James ....
