Actually, I noticed that in the episodes previous to "the seizure episode", the screen tends to darken with certain lighting effects. The Japanese actually went back and added the screen darkening thing. Heh, I only noticed because... well, I notice odd things like that ^^; . (I noticed it back in the day when I used to watch the show. I found out that the effect was done on purpose later.)
The whole seizure incident is the reason why a lot of t.v anime have that "please watch in a well lit room and don't get too close to the t.v" warning.

I was meaning on a changed form on TV as an episode. Do you mean, "re-air" on the news or "re-air" in a changed form on t.v. Either way, it DID re-air. For the news thing, I remember hearing about it on U.S news that wasn't even anime afiliated (and a bunch of other places at the time too. This was even BEFORE Pokemon even aired in the U.S).

Well, I looked it up, and from what I can tell, it seems you are right Vicious. Though a lot of people seem to contradict each other (lots of rumors and the like) @_@ . But for the most part, it seems that the episode was never re-aired in Japan.

Worst Animes: Windaria - pray you never find out.
Escaflowne the movie - the only anime I've EVER walked out on.
Neon Genesis Evangelion - yeah, the animation quality was years ahead of it's time, but that's no reason to throw together a bunch of plots, try to call them a story, and then screw over your audience at the end of the series when you can't tie up all of your plot holes and bad ideas...

Indeed. =3
Ah, I wish I could participate in this discussion but sadly, I have only seen several animes. I don't have a solid idea of Digmon Season [insert number here] or Pokemon for that matter. Hearing what you guys say are reviving my fear of animes..o_x For Digimon, I've only seen the Manga starring Taichi and Zero. Pokemon, the violent one by Someone-Oro (An Arbok was cut in half and Acid used on Psyduck melted it, and you SAW it melt... xP )
Ah Kirby...I only like the cute puffball. =3 *pokes Kirby*
Sonic X....Chris must burn. End of Story.
I have no idea of DBZ or DBGT... x_o I lost track of the story starting from DBZ... I only like the first one. At least that time they didn't stare at their opponent for thirty minutes and they actually had some plot...in a way.. And you didn't think to yourself "Oh how's Goku going to die this time" or "How's Goku going to come back to life this time". >< You may throw stones at me.
.......And I shall hide now...

Do you mean Toshiro Ono? Pokemon, the violent one by Someone-Oro (An Arbok was cut in half and Acid used on Psyduck melted it, and you SAW it melt... xP )

anime I didn't like very much...Beyblade was pointless, I thought the characters are cute, but after a few minute I was just so board. It's just one battle after another, and so what if they lose a spining top battle? the whole idea is just lame. I guess the only anime I hated was Fushigi Yugi(actually I dind't like Ceres much either, guess I just don't like the author) and Tenchi Muyo...well, I can't say I hate them since I've only seen bits and pieces of both, but I just really can't stand them. I was especially bothered by the main guy charater of Fushigi Yugi (whatever his name is) gave that whole speech about how everyone(from the world of that book), was only created to protect Miyaka. That is what I hated about Sailor Moon(which I have only seen the manga and a bit of the anime), they made it seems like everyone else was there just to make the main character look more important. As for Tenchi Muyo...I've only seen the the movies and one of the episodes, but all I saw is a ugly(I'm sorry but I really don't like the way he looks) guy, with nothing whatsoever special or attrective about him, living with bunch of girls who loves him(for reasons I can't think of) and fights for his attention and gets into catfights out of jealousy. It just really annoyed me. despite these things, the storyline and everything else in general seemed pretty cheesy too. I didn't like Kirby and Sonic X animes either, but I can't say I hated them. The plots just don't have much originality, typical "good over evil". I guess is meant for very young audiences.

Hey, I actually LIKE Beyblade...if only for Kai. XD
Anyhow, I must say that I hate Digimon Season Two, Beyblade Season Two, Pokemon in general, and I hate Fruits Basket even though I've never seen the anime, but I've read the manga and I hate it. I also hate the Rayearth OVA (and Magic Knight Rayearth in general, though I've never watched the anime).

Well, i basicaly like all anime but some of the anime shows just suck... they are so bad that i try to forget their titles! *laughs evily* actually i just don't want to remember... period. I don't really like pokemon... that is sort of like... weird. i mean everyone knows that the main character is going to defeat the enemy in the end so why bother watching? I only like the first season of digimon, the other versions after is sad... real sad and in sad i mean BAD!! I watched Escaflowne.. didn't thought it was that bad, although i only watch the first few shows... wasn't it once on foxbox? or am i just imagining it? well, if it was, what happened to it? It just like.. canceled automaticly. and i wouldn't concider kirby as anime really... it doesn't look like it, but if you say it is, i guess it is.. o_0 hard to think of it that way though. Sonic X.... i don't watch it allot but i think the video games are good! heh heh! thats all i have to say.. maybe some bad anime will pop up in my mind one day and i can complain all i want about it on this thread!

Yeah~Kai is cute, the characters are Ok, and today's episode was alright, but the whole idea is just...is about spining tops. I don't like clamp story lines period, at least their earlier works(some later ones is ok), but I adore their art. I watched Escaflowne.. didn't thought it was that bad, although i only watch the first few shows... wasn't it once on foxbox? or am i just imagining it? well, if it was, what happened to it? I saw a bit of it because my best friends use to be obsessed with it. the anime didn't look too bad to me, but the manga art is kinda horrible~(ironic, I usually have problems with the anime art)

Hey, I actually LIKE Beyblade...if only for Kai. XD Wow. I'm not the only one. ;D Yes. I too love Kai. I always think the coolest characters are the distant quiet brooding guys who always kick everyone's butts when challenged. I also like Hilary. She always puts the guys in their places. Another dub I hate is Winx if it qualifies and .........I had another one, but I guess I'll have to come back after I remember it. Dang!

There's a reason I've been staying away from this thread. I don't believe in these threads. I agree with ones asking people's opinions on bad dubs, as the dubs are changes to the original piece of artwork, and for many people (myself included), they find the fact that the artwork is changed in the first place to be damaging to the integrity (which is why I love that GitS2 is subtitled-only). However, the reason I really don't like this thread is 'cuz you're ALWAYS going to get people saying "the worst anime ever is Anime X" when 'Anime X' just happens to be someone else's favorite series. That being said, I happen to like Pocket Monsters (early stuff and movies), Fushigi Yuugi, Ayashi no Ceres (manga, haven't seen past episode 3 of the anime), Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki (OAV, not TV), Magic Knight Rayearth (TV season 1 and the manga, haven't seen tv season 2 or the OAV), Tenkuu no Escaflowne, and Fruits Basket (anime, haven't read the manga). As for other topics brought up... Duel Masters vs. Yu-Gi-Oh!No, Duel Masters isn't ripping off Yu-Gi-Oh!. In a way, you can say that Yu-Gi-Oh! is ripping off Duel Masters. While I don't know exactly what's going on in the manga (I only have one chapter), the card game itself is Magic. The Yu-Gi-Oh! card game is obviously 'inspired' by Magic ('inspired' is the word used by companies who don't want to fess up to 'copying', whether they did copy or not), so you can look at the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game as being 'ripped off' of the Duel Masters card game (most copywrited material is changed from manga to anime. That is why Jiipu is named 'Hakuryuu' in Saiyuki... 'Jiipu' is Japanese for 'Jeep'). Digimon 'Seasons'There are NOT four seasons of Digimon. There are three SERIES of Digimon. Because of how it was released in the US, most people don't realize this. While there are many series (Sailor Moon, Dragonball, etc.) that have different titles for different seasons, Digimon is not one of those. Let me review: Digimon Adventures- Series with 2 seasons. Known as "Digimon" and "Digimon Season 2" in the US. Digimon Tamers- Series with 1 season. Known as "Digimon Season 3" in the US. ONLY connection with first series is that in the universe (completely different from Adventures' universe) that Tamers takes place in, Digimon is a popular anime and card game (take note that in the original, it is not mentioned specifically that the anime is Digimon Adventures. Takato does not name any characters by name). Digimon Frontier- Series with 1 season. Known simply as "Digimon" or "Digimon Season 4" in the US. No connection whatsoever to the first two seasons. Toshihiro Ono's Pocket Monsters mangaToshihiro Ono's series of Pocket Monsters manga HAS been re-released in the US. After they were released in standard US comic book format, they were re-released in graphic novel format. Don't know where you can find them, but they are out there, and still in print. Tenkuu no Escaflowne dubwww.geocities.com/TelevisionCity/Taping/6785/esca.htmlThere's the best website I know of for the changes to the Escaflowne dub. It's also, I believe, the second of the 'uncensored' websites (although they don't use the name). Only 6 or 7 episodes were aired (depends on your area, however, the dub ran through episode 9 of the original, due to heavy editing.

I also noticed No Need for Tenchi is still in print - but Viz recently gave it a new "cover"
I wonder when Ono's Pokemon will get their "action edition"-style GN's.
