If this was already done, forgive me... but if not... continue please!
After enjoying the debate from the good old "choose your Shaman King" thread that was posted, I figured why not do one for Naruto? Simply place your nomination, why he or she is the best (or worst) for the job and all other good stuff.
As usual, I'll begin:
Rock Lee and Naruto- To me these boys both have very strong qualities that one could look up to. They've been categorized as failures, but surpassed them and they can motivate other people into bettering themselves as well. The only problem is that both of my nominations tend to train themselves to death and Naruto has a hard time being serious.
Okay guys, your turn...

Hokage? Shikamaru, no question. He's wise, capable-- the perfect leader. He'd be able to make the transition from leading a single squad to the whole village with ease.

I'm going to agree with Gus, if you've seen his battle against Temari and the Let's Find Sasuke Arc, you'll realize why he deserves to be Hokage out of all of them. Besides, a lazy Hokage would be awesome. : D

Shino, because no one would see it coming and it would give him an actual ROLE in the story.
Come on.... bugkage........ >_>;;;;
I, actually agree with Gus and SoM. Shika's tactics and intelligence probably make him best suited. Although, I really have to wonder if he would WANT to be leader. He would probably let Naruto be leader and just be a "Shadow Hokage"
Ha-ha, the irony is thick, like Lee's brows.....

I agree with Gus about shikamaru. I would think that he would be the best hokage... afterall he is sensible well... then most of the people in the series
Naruto... he is kind of dense sometimes but he is really strong and understand those people who are like him. He also tries very hard. He has a good heart.

Wow, I see that a lot of people agree with Gus about Shikamaru. He is an excellent strategist and a brilliant leader. Naruto: Traitor!!! But before we crown Shika-kun as the board's Hokage, let's go over some of the other guys as well. Oh yeah, and just as with the Shaman King thread, bad guys, non-Konoha ninja, and people who don't have a relatively major role can also be included. Okay, Shikamaru's in the lead... any other takers?

How about Jiryaria (sorry if I spell his name wrong) Jiryaria: YES! First new law, all women must wear MINI SKIRTS!!! ;D ... on second thought, I always though Neji or Shino would be good leaders.

Neji as the leader? (MetaKnight's imagination starting...) Neji: Okay, I'm the new Hokage for SKU. Neji fans: Hooray!!!! Neji: First things first... (starts handing out brooms and gray jumpsuits to certain people) MetaKnight: What're these for? Neji: To everyone I've handed cleaning supplies to... you suck and will forever suck! So your worthless selves will do janitor work for the rest of your lives since that's all you're good for. Newly made janitors: Say what?! (screams loudly) But anyway, could you explain why you'd prefer Neji and Shino?

Well, although Neji would probably do that stuff now that I think about it, think about how he handles his team. He seems like a natural born leader. In a few years, he would make an excellent leader, in my opinion at least. As for Shino, I just think he hardly gets any air time, so I needed to give him some credit. Plus, he's a pretty good leader. This is proven in episodes 149-151 of the series. ... wow, that sounded a bit nerdish...

This is proven in episodes 149-151 of the series. Hate to burst your bubble, but those episodes are filler, non canon.

Sorry to contradict you, Throes, but I think that proof from those eppies is just as good if not better than from any others. Besides killing time, the purpose of the fillers was to introduce character development for the minor characters whom the main storyline had left on the sidelines. So just because Shino didn't have a chance to shine in the part you can read in the manga, doesn't make him any less qualified in his filler scenes. They're all coming from the same place, so it's pretty stupid to dismiss the fillers as uncanon.
No offense.

But you also have to remember that since it is filler, there is a good chance of error. In a One Piece filler, they had Zoro cut steel chains saying he could cut anything, but in a later manga release, it was revealed that he could not yet cut steel, and the filler was completely contradicted. So there is a chance of Shino being a terrible leader, or a great leader for all I know. I'm just saying that there is a chance of that information being incorrect.
No offense taken.

The problem with Neji is that the seal on his head effectively means he's under the thumb of those assholes in the main family...

Hey! Hinata isn't an asshole . But I think that being in the branch family has no say when it comes to being a Hokage. But then again, I'd better go ask the 5th, see what she says...
