Not refective of girls at all. No wonder boys think girls are all a bunch of braindead, easy, airheads. I've got to tell the kids networks to respect females. I TOTALLY agree with you. I have realized that in most anime's and such the dubbers change it so that the girls look like wimps half the time. It makes me sick! |

that show is a joke to me, it's just horrible(almost offending b/c of it's horribleness) art, with plot lines copy and pasted from popular works(aka. SM, the whole "princess from a destructed kingdom" thing is just TOO obvious, and HP "magic school"). and they not only copies them but also destroys them.
actully, shows like that are generally jokes to me, you CAN'T draw anime, so PLEASE DON'T. but I have to say, this one is one of the worst. Compare to this, Witch look somewhat better, the artwork at least(I don't put much hope in the plot line from what I've seen from the preview), but if anyone calls it anime I'll FAINT.

Okay, the animation is horrendous, the characters are all preppies/valley girls, and well...it's so preppy it kills. It's even worse than Totally Spies! I cannot see how ANYONE would like Winx. I mean, I can't see how little girls would look up to the main characters! Little girls, get some REAL role models.

I have another reason to hate Winx...the spells! I mean, you can so tell what they're supposed to be! Just normal words with "us" added after them, like for example:
Hairus Permus Nowus! (Not a real spell, but I wouldn't be suprised if it was).
It's really annoying and un-original. >.<

Come on now. I mean this show is no worse than say...some singer getting their own show on network television, like rapper Eve's (uh) "Eve."
Give those Italian fashion designers who created this thing some credit. At least you can sit through it. Not like Kirby Right Back At Ya. I can't sit through that show.

Wow. XD People agree with me!
Nagu, I do give them credit, but they should've put more effort into a series. If they're going to do something, then do it right.
And about the girls, I completely agree. They all think every girl must like clothes, is thin, can't do ANYTHING for themselves. >.> What fantasy world are they living in? It's demeaning to females.
And if there's a 'I'm taking no crap' person for me, Anna, Nami, and Lina Inverse (Slayers) are my favorite characters. >3 Though I know there's more.
I thought the series ended...why are they continuously doing it? Is that show REALLY getting ratings? o.O Especially since they're showing it twice (oh the horror!)
And Pinkechidna, you scared the crap out of me with that. XD
As I remember someone on this message board about Winx...

Yeah, I know. But it's one thing to be an Italian fashion designer, producing a show of watchable crap. Then another to be a full fledged producer producing unwatchable crap. LOL.
As far as bad ass chicks, put Kiva from Megas XLR down. I know it's not anime, but she does prove that in America, not every girl is made into one of those stereotypes.
