Looks like a complete rip off from Yu Gi Oh... another anime butchered by dubbers...

Oh yeah and let me guess the only good anime is in Japanese or something that's not in America.

No...it's just the fans like to complain more about bad dubs(like anything dubbed by 4Kids...although the One Piece dub seems promising) than praise good dubs(such as .hack//SIGN, Inuyasha, Yu yu Hakusho, and Gundam Seed) >_>
Getting back on topic, I...really haven't watched Duel Masters, so I can't comment on the dubbing. Oh, and about the Yugioh comment...go read the manga from Shonen Jump. It wasn't always about cards.

yeah.....I've seen Duel Masters and it was pretty good although some people won't agree with me (Actually pretty much everyone)That the dubbers did a pretty good job on it.
And can someone PLEASE guess My avatar's species?

Actually, from what I've heard, the show was apparently pretty bad in it's original language as well.

yeah, and I'm definetly not a Yugioh fan so I use the time it comes on to do important things cause it's the only show on Toonami I don't like.

I tried watching it... but I couldn't really stay glued for long. It seemed kinda boring. As well, it was probably based of Yugioh anyways... Hrm. The animation reminded me of Beyblade (which I'm not really fond of either).
I agree with Overosul about the dub thing though; not all dubs are bad. O.O Hellsing and Cowboy Bebop were, imo, amoung the best dubs out there; I thought those were excellent dubs. And Evangelion... Watching the dub with the subs, it was almost exact. O.O Or had the same meaning.

The entire thing is one big parody. I hate parodies. Anyway, can anyone tell me what is was like in the original version? Was it as bad? Or, does it have some redeeming qualities? Sure some of the CGI Creatures are extremely cool, and they use words like "death" and "kill" more often than Yu-Gi-Oh. But the over-the-top parodies really kill it.

I too have not yet seen Duel Masters, but if it's like the Yugioh anime and is just designed to sell cards, then I'll be sure to avoid it.
I actually liked Yugioh for a while, but it just got so repetetive, that I am not really interested in it anymore.

I read it was VERY dark. That it would never see the light of day on american shores.

i know its a little late to reply in this thread, but i just had to....the show airs where i live too...and the episode i saw today was just so...man..some of the dub lines are so stupid making them funny: (i dont know all their names ) kid with glasses: its a hologram, very Princess Lea. -------(and this one just made me crack up XD and i swear to you this was one of the lines) Kentaro: the key you had just lets you in, this one is an all access pass, it allows you to go anywhere in the temple. Shobu: what is this? P. Diddy's place? XD

The YGO manga uses the Japanese character names and the English card names. Also, it is rated T for Teen and therefore has a minimal-if-any censorship level.

I think HoroHoro-san was refering to the first series of Yu-Gi-Oh!, not the manga.
Anyway, I have an old KoroKoro Comics book with Duel Masters in it, and it's COMPLETELY based off of Magic: the Gathering. The logo has a Magic card in it (with "Magic" very clear), the image of the tankoubon says "Magic: The Gathering" on the side, the main character's card holster has an "M" on it (lots of stuff does, btw), the cards look exactly like magic cards (and the deck boxes have Magic: The Gathering on them), and there's even pages in the book showing off new cards.
