A Matter of oppinion

I'm on and off on dub names, but honestly, I don't really care. Name changes from "Furutkasdiou3oiweruius" to "Bob" are annoying, but if it's an L-to-R thing (Zolo), or keeping it close enough (Rio), I don't mind. I also liked Zeke, I can kind of understand that one. Imagine the voice overs running around yelling "HOW! HOW! HOW!"

L and R. Please, stop complaining. Someone mentioned Malik being changed to Marik, and then Varon being changed to Valon. Big deal. They could have called them Mark or Van. Which would you prefer? Besides the fact that Marik and Valon are perfectly good translations anyway. The same applies for Zolo in the 4Kids One Piece dub. Now, Viz's manga on the other hand... they'd been calling him Zoro from the start... so it doesn't slide.

I'm fully aware of the "L" and "R" thing, as I have mentioned and told people of this many a time, but the qualm I do have with it, is 4Kids' inconsistency with it. They can't stick with dubbing a name with "L" or "R".

For instance, "Varon/Baron/Valon/Balon" was dubbed as "Valon", for enough, but then they have "Malik/Marik" as "Marik". "Zoro" is now "Zolo", fair enough, but "Ren" was the ACTUAL name, stated evidently from Hiroyuki Takei, himself, and was changed to "Len".

The thing is they will SWAP whatever way everyone calls them with, to the other, so an "R" name is then changed to "L", and vice versa...

Thankyou Kawaii. Now that is what i was trying to say. They always swap the name everyone calls them by to the opposite name. But i'll shut up now, I have more important changes to complain about.

I've noticed that 4kids always names the characters the opposite of what they're most commonly called. but I did read something on one anti-4kids site about the Len/Ren thing being cultural or something like that... if I ever remember the URL again, I'll post it.

The X-Laws have already appeared, with their guns left unedited. Only Meene's gun was edited. And it was edited into...another gun...

The only gun that was really edited was Chuck's (Mari's spirit), which was turned into a rattle. ><
