Invader Zim, oh great, now I have to rant about this show, since so many people are so bias against it for seemingly no reason. Invader Zim was 1: The only show Jhonen Vasquez ever made, 2: Placed in only the worst timeslot ever for a show of it's likes, 3: Was the only show Jhonen Vasquez ever did / will do in the name of children, 4: The only way it will re-air to the end is if 1: Jhonen is allowed to have Zim melt the faces off of his classmates, 2: Jhonen is allowed to kill off Iggins, Dib, and possibly a few other charachters, 3: It get's a new timeslot. So unless Bill ever runs over the right space zombie, there is little or no chance Zim will ever re-air with the same quality.
Otherwise, The Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, South Park, all the old cartoons from the 40's and 50's when people were cool and censorship was almost nonexistant.

I absolutely loved Gargoyles until the Goliath Chronicles. It some how fell apart for me. Filmore, Recess, Animaniacs, and Teen Titans are pretty good as well, but I don't watch them that much anymore.

My favorite American cartoons would have to be Samurai Jack Batman (the Fox 25 version) X-Men Evolutions Sonic the Hedgehog ( call it either Sonic SatAm or Sonic Freedom Fighters which ever clears up the picture) Darkwing Duck Hey Arnold Super Mario Bros./ Captain N (video game adaption cartoons) Mighty Max The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest My other favorite is a secret...

Stupid jokes, not witty, screaming out random animals, objects or food thus ruining comedy, bullshit things shaped like retarded looking animals, saying that nonliving objects are great or some bullshit things like "holy" or "of DOOM" (which is the SHITTIEST "joke" I've ever heard, rendering the word doom into a big pile of f**king bullcrap), generic plot, stupid and generic characters, having the single most annoying character ever (GIR), supposed gross out comedy, and brainwashing people. (All Jhonen needs to do is to sell a LOT of Invader Zim crap and we'll have ourselves another "Nightmare Before Christmas" fad)

O--o Would Nickelodeon ever allow that? That would be interesting...

I remember Freakzoid, it constantly had me in stitches whenever I saw it. But Freakazoid has nothing on Animaniacs, funniest children's cartoon ever. Hysteria was doG awful.
Anyone remember Spot, a Disney Channel cartoon short? Loved it as a kid. Also liked Madeline, but I don't know if it's American. Probably French.
Hey, how 'bout David the Nome? A show whiched aired on Nickelodeon and PBS years (10 years +) ago?

Freakazoid is Steven Spielburg's greatest creation, greater than ET.

Oh YES, Animaniacs was a classic. What's happened to cartoons, anyway? They used to be so cool... They're pretty crappy now-a-days.
What's happened to cartoons, anyway? They used to be so cool... They're pretty crappy now-a-days.
I think one reason is because all the cartoons (a lot of American ones at least) are trying too hard to imitate their Japanese counterparts. But anyway... Favorite American cartoons NOW: Teen Titans Xiaolin Showdown The Simpsons Family Guy American Dad Favorite American Cartoons THEN: Animaniacs Too many to count or remember

While I admit that American cartoons are too wrapped up in being faux animes, but that's not was wrong with them.
Most of them have bad writing. So not only are they badly designed but they also have crappy jokes. Potty humor and bad design is great in Ren & Stimpy. But it doesn't work at all for the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. This proves that writing matters.
Samurai Jack was cool, but then CN killed it! There's also Men in Black the series.

I've NEVER liked gross out humor, even in the ever so popular Ren & Stimpy. I could never understand the appeal... I've never liked Rocko's Mondern Life either. I DID enjoy Invader Zim. I can't really tell you why ^^; .
Grim and Mandy was interesting in its preview episode. But then, when the series arrived and it became yet another gross out kids show, it just went downhill. To be fair, I'm kind of picky about toon desings.
Anyhoo, my current favorite US cartoon on television is Avatar: The Last Airbender. A wonderful, WONDERFUL show with incredible writing. I really recommend it for all of you. It really takes the best of elements Eastern and Western art and story telling. A gorgeous show that's dramatic and interesting, but still doesn't loose its wonderful sense of humor.
*siiiiiigh* I think it's one of my current favorite show in general right now ^___^ .

Yea, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy was cool at first, but it kind of got stupid after a while. I'm not really into crude humor myself, I find it gross. In fact, Invader Zim is probably the only children's show I actually like anymore... Because I will forever love it. <3 Other than that, children shows just don't appeal to me anymore... They've gotten really terrible.
