It's not official. I don't think 4Kids would be stupid enough to cut out most of the final season of a show and leave it at that. Millenium World will more than likely air, but of course, with many edits.

... Have you ever thought, that maybe they will cut it out, because, I dunno, they thought it wasn't exciting enough to please their target audience? Besides, in One Piece, the Laboon arc was cut from the dub, and that was a very important arc, and 4kids cut it without mercy. Also, they mentioned that the "Grand Championship" arc was the "final season" of YGO, which we all know that the memory arc is, so cutting it down to the end would make sense.
Also, saying it's "not official" is quite arrogant of you, I mean, you don't work for 4kids, do you? So you can't decide whether or not 4kids is going to condense, or cut an arc.

How can you call me arrogant for saying it's not official? Has 4Kids come out with a statement that actually says "We're cutting the Ancient Memory arc of Yu-Gi-Oh"? Unless they have, then it's unofficial. That's not arrogant, that's a fact. And aside from that, there was supposed to be this huge mystery throughout the whole series of who the pharaoh really was and stuff. If you think that 4Kids is honestly going to cut out the entire climax of the series, I think you're wrong. Condense it? Maybe. But since they've advertised characters from the series, they more than likely will keep it.

Actually Throes is right... 4Kids didn't come out and announce that they had cut the entire first season of Yu-Gi-Oh. So we've gotta keep an eye out. Besides this is 4Kids we're talking about here, they do things that wouldn't even make sense to an idiot.

Besides this is 4Kids we're talking about here, they do things that wouldn't even make sense to an idiot. Actually, to quote Tonfa from the "GX dub names" thread: Thats what I thought at first, but technically, 4kids DID NOT cut that arc out, Although it is usually a big misconseption by alot of people. The original Yu-Gi-Oh anime, all 27 episodes were really an entirely different series which followed the first volumes of Kazuki Takahashi's manga more closely (which were not based around the card game). It was produced by a different company altogether (Toei, I beleive) and had a different set of voice actors. (FUN FACT: Megumi Ogata (Kenshin) was the voice of Yugi in this series) The Yu-Gi-Oh anime that were all familiar with is known as "Yu-Gi-Oh!: Duel Monsters" in Japan, which was picked up by TV Tokyo I think (correct me if I'm wrong), which of course goes through the Duelist Kingdom all the way through the Egypt arcs. The manga however is still collectively recognized as just "Yu-Gi-Oh." The original series was alot darker and violent. And theres a snowballs chance in hell that we'll ever see those episodes... And all I can think of now concerning Toei's "Yu-Gi-Oh." It was a different company that made the first season of Yu-Gi-Oh that you are talking about, MetaKnight. The style in the first anime was very different as well, so fans actually cannot blame 4Kids for not showing Yu-Gi-Oh and showing Yu-Gi-Oh DM because they would need another license. Besides, 4Kids seems to want to focus on the card games and other action more than backstories and other information that YGO fans would like.

Oh!!!! I didn't know about that one! Thank you very much for telling me that.
Back-stories are important though... leaving out the base of the story can leave people confused (eh-hem Ronin Warriors).

I don't think that they're going to leave out the Pharaoh's Memory, guys. Look at some of these posts from Janime forums:
Although this isn't necessarily 100% certain, i think they are going to dub Pharaohs Memory. Afterall, KC Grand Prix is only about 14 episodes long. However if you add it to Pharaoh's Memory and the Ceremonial Battle you get a whole season. (as the quotes above have said. )
However, this doesn't mean that they won't completely butcher it of course. >.< There are so many mentions of death and dying in Pharaoh's Memory, that i hate to think what they'll do with it. I wouldn't be surprised if they change every sentence with "death" or "dead" in it, to "sent to the Shadow Realm" XD

Didn't we talk about this earlier? Putting the two together? So lazy. Need to work on that. *bricked* Anyway, that's good news. We just have to wait and see. Yeah, the Shadow Realm's going to be full of people. *exaggerated sigh*

According to a few sources, the latest issue of Shonen Jump magazine confirmed that 4Kids is indeed showing the ancient memories arc. It only makes sense to make Yu-Gi-Oh DM go out with a bang.

I never said the news was official, but that it was on their forum. Since when is the 4Kids forum a reliable site anyway? "OMG! Someone at the 4Kids forum said they were going to do this! We MUST believe them!" So, we're going to believe the same people who think that they're Mew Mews that went on a date with the Winx club girls? Speculating this is kind of pointless until 4Kids comes out with an official announcement. All you can do is wait and hope that they don't screw it up. If they don't dub it, they'll screw it up, but if they do dub it they still screw it up. Either way we're screwed so as I said before, it's pointless to speculate on something that isn't even official, especially for something that's going to be screwed regardless of what happens. Besides, what does it matter how screwy the dub is? If it sucks, watch the Japanese version or read the manga for goddess' sake.

"With regards to the manga, why are they (Viz) skewing with the order of the series? Whoever thought up the grand idea that skipping over 10 volumes worth of the story to get the end was on something. (Or, actually what exactly is it that Viz did? I remember reading something about skipping the Duelist Kingdom arc and going straight into either Battle City and Battle Ship or the Memory World arc.)" In SJ they skipped the DK and BC parts to get to Millennium World. They did this because everyone saw the anime parts and the popularity of YGO may be waning. This is a good move as it allows other series to be in the magazine. Okay, that makes more sense. I read it on a summary a while ago on ANN and found it a strange thing to do since you're right, Yugi does appear in the first episode. It is possible it's a mistake to make some fans jittery. But who knows, 4Kids as we've seen have no limits with their taking "artistic liberties". Not only that, but it's "Grandpa Muto" spelled backwards. How original. *chuckles* And they go "KABOOM"! I mean--"POP" in a massive and menacing--I mean--pink, cute, wubbly, cloud that should take them to that place. And now, after having typed that, I have spent 10mins visualizing the scene like that in an actual episode. XD Needless to say, I am scarred.

Since when is the 4Kids forum a reliable site anyway? I never said that 4kids' forum was a reliable source. I do think I said that it would make sense if they condensed it, considering, from what I hear, it isn't the most exciting of arcs. 4kids likes to cut arcs they deem "too boring, and slow". Basically, they've force-fed the kiddies the mentality that Yu-Gi-Oh DM is all about card playing. 4kids doesn't care about memory arcs, no card playing, they'll probably just splice the two. But with that statement I will stop this pointless bickering, because it seems to be getting nowhere. Wether or not 4kids decides to cut or condense the memory arc is up to them.
