Slightly off topic: I heard the guy who did Haru Glory's voice for Rave Master is doing Gaara's voice. I forget his name though. Topic? Its somewhere out there.  *shot* |

The guy who I heard was doing Gaara's voice is Liam O'Brien. He did Maniwa from Paranoia Agent and Asaba from His and Her (hope he's of the same caliber [quality] in Naruto).
Either one's fine with me.

Wow..... Well, in the manga I could have sworn his arms were cut off in the manga.... I'll have to re-read it I guess.... Same thing with me. I haven't seen much of the anime, so I thought that they added arms in the dub. |

is it just me or does yuri pronounce all the names (ie, sakua and naruto) properly?
last saturday's ep i taped and im watching it now. i gotta say, this is my fave so far! nothing beats girly boys like haku!
Haku: "By the way....im a boy"
Naruto: "He's a boy!? He's perttier than Sakura!"
zabuza x haku!
sasuke x naruto! *shot*

It's not just you. Yuri Lowenthal speaks, and understands fluent Japanese, as well as a multitude of other languages. It would make sense that he's pronouncing the names correctly.

I did'nt know that about Lowenthal  . But to me, it seems that all the names are pronounced correctly. (Its just the Western accent which might make some some words sound odd.) Ah, another wonderful episode tonight, too bad theres we still have to bear the ick aftertaste that is a lingering Dub Piece... |

tonfa: well yeah, but he puts the L sound into nartuo's name. I'm pretty sure that just has to do with the Japanese pronounciation of "R" and "L" sounds. In Japanese syllabary, the syllables "ra", "ri", "ru", "re" and "ro" are all pronounced with the tip of the tounge touching the roof of the mouth, as opposed to the sound being made in the back of the throat. This is why Ls and Rs tend to get switched around when romanizing the spoken language. |

but, i think that's the way it's supposed to be pronounced.
i think at times kakashi pronouces sakura right too.
