Well, it seems I am in the same boat as you were in. Mine is worse however. Mine is at like -20! I can't think of anything bad I did. The only thing is the problem wth my old sig, witch I got rid of. Shoot, I even changed the avatar I had, it still keeps comin. Every day I see likeat least another -2 on mine. If I did anything to offend anyone, I apologies. I never ment to offend people.

I never see you doing offensive stuff. o_0 But then again,I'm not really active so I'll shut up.(Gave you an Exalt.) And that reminds me of Haoasakura,everytime I came here he had -2 to -4 Karma gone. One time I exalted him and 1 hour later he has 4 smites.

lets say, ONE stupid post pisses 5 people off.
Let's say that stupid post was like.... your second post on the board.
Let's say this post was bumping up an icredibly old topic.
Let's say this stupid post was a one sentence reply consisting of "Lol, that is so cool. I love cheese."


There you go. A newbie with a karma rating of -5 , if they're LUCKY.

Basically, it's just a matter of thinking before your post.
If a low karma rating is what it takes to make a person realise this, then the karma system has done its job.

Hmmm.....Lovely-sama is right you know...but i really can't see how a cute newbie can have karma -20 that fast!! I mean i understand -5 for some stupid post...but -20?! Tha's kind of cruel! I never smited anyone (yet) and i hope i neve will!!!!! Yeey....exalt for everyone!!!sorry

I am so glad someone decided to bring up this topic. I had no idea what karma was. I did some searches in the forum and found a brief explanation so I was satisfied for the moment. I don't know about everyone else, but I am honest. I mean, I say what's on my mind. When I post, however, I try to express that thought in a way that offends the least amount of people. When you think about it, the goal is to express your thoughts not to anger the members, right? I guess the only thing I don't really like about the system is that the members don't tell you when they give you a karma point (or take one away). I looked at my profile today and noticed my number is different, but I have no idea where the points came from or what I said to make a difference. (if I said anything) It's nice to know that you're not making a complete fool of yourself. (which I often wonder when I post a message) Rambling, I'll stop now.

Actually, I think the anonymous thing is good. It lets someone speak thier opinions without fear of having someone get pissed and just keep on 'getting back at them' for no real reason.

Well, yes. I'm not gonna go around saying "HEY, DID YOU SMITE ME? JERK" to everyone though, because they would smite me more, and if I was wrong more people would smite me so I guess this is a mystery that will go unsolved.

Honestly if someone smites me one part of me would want to know who and why so I would not make the mistake again. The rest of me would not want to know at all. I'm more curious about the people who exalt. I've been guilty of not telling people when I exalt them, but then again some people may not feel the same way I do about it. Alright, *sigh* I guess I don't have to know...

Hmm...guilty of that too Renna....but sometimes it doesn't seem fair at all...you know...exalting everyone but you get simted...or stuff like that...and there is something odd...whenever i get exalted(for example i have karma 8)...the next day i see that i have less karma then the preious day..(like karma 7) and it happens almost every time i get exalted..it sucks and i don't even know who hates me because i never intended to offend anyone here....i respect all of you here....anyways....*sigh*

I agree. It would be nice to know who is smiting us, so that we know what mistakes not to make again.
I mean, we can't learn from our mistakes if we don't even know we've made a mistake.

But i can see where Gus is coming from also. I guess there really isn't a compromise or "middle ground".
Still...it'd be nice to know what people think we've done wrong.

Yup...like it happened to me again....i had karma 9 but now i have only 7....i don't know where i went wrong but it would be nice to know so i would no repeat my mistake!

Maybe there's just some person who lowers karma for no apperent reason, knowing they can't possibly be caught? It would make sense, ya know?
