I've passed the Cathedral Ship and the Encephalon.

The song of Nephilim has begun. I don't think that's too much of a spoiler to those who haven't played the game, since they should have no idea what it is.
I'm actually having trouble with the evacuation part. I only have 2 people left. They are so difficult to get to, but I'm sure I'll figure it out.
I didn't find the scenes on the cathedral ship creepy to the point of being afraid. I was just shocked at what they left in the game. With all the cutscenes it's like watching a REALLY great anime!

O.k... technically this thread started off talking about the upcoming Xenosaga anime, but.. since there isn't much info out about that yet, this thread quickly became just about the video game *laughs* ^^; .
I hope that you don't mind that I moved it here Dessa. Eh well, continue talking about the world of Xeno!

I have seen the scene of disturbingness that you told me about before. Albedo is seriously ^#%& up.
I can't wait to play more.
I also must say that unless you already knew that they edited the scene it doesn't make that much sense.
Replacing MOMO's use of the word 'body' with 'mind' would have covered the ugliness just fine.

Anyway, I just got back up to the Encephalon (about to go in). This time it should go a lot better, since my characters are a much higher level... **thinks** but I'd better play the Driller Game a bit first... gotta complete Mission 4 so I can get that nice item that gives me Tech Points +25%

Actually, I really did start a new game last night, not because of that though ^^; . Nah, I started it again because this thread got me in the mood. However, Man, I forgot how boring the first part of the game is. All that technobable @_@ .... Also, now that I can look back at the game with erm.. "unclouded eyes" (remember, I'm a big fan ^^;.) I can see some flaws with the video's. A lot of them in the begining were pretty unnecessary. We don't really need a video of a mechanical monster that has no importance to the plot ^o^ . Still, I know that after I hit a certain point it will be great, so I'll stick it though. I'm gonna need a new memory card soon though.... |

What?? There's an item that can do that? WOOO! Guess who's playing Xenosaga again XD ??!!! Yup. "Swimsuit" Body armor equipable on chaos, Shion, Jr., and MOMO. In battle, they wear their swimsuits from the beach scene. You get one from beating Great Joe (100%), one from beating Driller Game Mission 4, and one from a chest in Kukai Foundation (not the first time you're there). Very nice piece of equipment... Oh, you too? I had to delete some old KH and Suiko 3 files when it wouldn't let me save a new file to save the beach scene... |

Is there an item that let's you re-watch old scenes?
I really thought there was gonna be. I want to see some of those old scenes again. They help you put the story together since there are so many cutscenes.
Song of Nephilim=Frustration. I had to get to bed at 10 last night and didn't until 10:45 thanks to the fact that save points are so far and infrequent. Took me an hour to search through the place and I didn't solve the second tower yet. Took me another half hour to get back to the save point at the second tower's enterance. How infuriating. Now I have to start the second tower over again basically.
EDIT: I found out I finished the second tower and I didn't notice the elevator that would take me to the top so I could avoid the inside. I defeated Albedo and died against the purple guy when he only had 300hp left. I hadn't saved it so now all the time I put in is gone!!!! AAAAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!! I'll try again tonight maybe!

Nope, no way to re-watch scenes.
Which is why I have my PS2 hooked up through my VCR. I can record scenes onto VHS (which I'll do the next time through).
However, when you reserve Episode 2, you'll eventually (probably when the game comes out) get a DVD with scenes from the first game. Also, GameFAQs has a game script you can read once you're done with the game.

I have been scorned by this game last night. I was trying to collect cards for the Xenocard game when I came across a Promo Pack that was sold because the game told me I already had three Zohar cards. Upon research I learned that the first pack of Zohar cards were supposed to be Lv.10 KOS-MOS cards. Now I have no way of getting that card and I wanted it so bad for my deck!!!!  I was only missing the Proto Dora and swimsuit cards too. Now my collection will never be complete!!! WHY XENOSAGA WHY!!!!!! >_< |

So, I've been replaying this game recently and I've FINALLY passed the "boring" part. Man, the beging of this game is dull  . So annoying 'cause I love the rest of it. In fact, my Thanksgiving Holiday consisted of playing Xenosaga and watching Firefly dvds (Firefly is a GREAT show by the way. It's a cross between sci fi and western . Wonderfullness ^__^ ...) Anyhoo, currently, I'm at the part where you first start controlling Ziggy ^^. fun fun. Oh, and I have a comment to make about EVERYONE in this game except for Allen. They are all idiots. ------------ Chaos: *Really, REALLY , stupid explanation about why he has a certain power* Shion and everyone else: Well, gee, that makes no logical sense. But what the heck, we believe ^___^ !!! Allen: The hell 0_o ? ?? ? ------------- Something like that  . I didn't realise the wisdom of poor put upon Allen until my second play through *laughs*. |

I usually use my paraphrased chaos quote as my siggy, but I decided on my Suikoden quote instead for here...

Oh! Mike was playing Baten Kaitos (also made by Monolith), and there was a boss named 'gnosis'. Yeah, real subtle, Monolith...
Hey Lovely, did you notice how the scene where you first meet River on Firefly is just like the scene where they find Melphina on Outlaw Star? Firefly is the greatest American 'space western' ever created.

Even before I saw Firefly a pic of that scene was floating around a lot of anime message boards followed by the message "What a RIPP OFF !!!!1111" . I would say that scene is more of an homage though ^_^ . That, and the rest of the story isn't really like Outlaw Star ^_^ . (I love River and Simon by the way ^^.) *cough* back on topic. TO ANYONE WHO HAS PLAYED THE ENGLISH VERSION OF XENOSAGA. The voice of Albedo is Crispin Freeman, he's the guy who I keep raving about because I thought he would of made a PERFECT voice for Faust in Shaman King. Now you know why ^_^ . (I like Mr Freeman's loony voices ^_~ .) |

Very loony. Albedo is SCARY! And thank you Lovely. I was not the only one who agrees with Allen when Shion says, "I guess when you think about it logically it makes sense! "  !!! What makes sense? chaos just totally blew you off Shion. He didn't explain diddly about his powers!!! Oh and if he can destroy gnosis by touching them then why doesn't he do that all the time. That would sure save me a lot of trouble. And I still can't get over the loss of my Lv.10 KOS-MOS card. Nice gif of chaos Dessa. chaos: Says you!! |

To be honest, the first time I played I didn't realise the stupidity of Chaos' logic because I was too busy saying this--- "OH MY GOD! THAT KID IS SO FRIKIN' CUTE!!!!" Maybe that's why Shion agreed with him as well XD . Last time I played Xenosaga I remember REeeeeeeaaaaaallly sucking and being confused about the card game. But this time, when I run into it again, I will learn how to play it properly!!! Maybe . |
