I've heard that a new .hack game is going to be released in Japan. I didn't find out that much information about it... but I know that it's called .hack//G.U.

I've heard that it's going to be online.
The .hack games kindof sucked, I think..but they were cool if you liked the series or had fifteen hours to kill.

We have a general .hack thread in the anime forum. But that thread goes ALL over the place, from the anime to the games to manga to the novels ^^;. So yeah, we have a good amount of huge .hack fans here at SKU ^^. However, I think it's a good idea to have a thread focusing on the upcoming new games. So I'll leave this open. Uh, don't really feel like repeating a bunch of stuff right now... .hack//FRAGMENT is supposed to be coming and it will be an online and offline game. I'm assuming it's going to be a sort of "fan" game and not really have anything to do with the main story line. It's supposed to include characters from the anime, manga, and past games. So that should be fun. It's already been confirmed that BOTH Kite and Shugo will be in it . .hack//GU is scheduled to come out in 3 games (yes, spliting it up again v_v.) The main character is a player killer. So uh, looks like we're gonna be playing an ass this time around *laughs*. There's video and more info at rpgGamer. Personally, I love the series, but I really wish that everytime someone reviewed something of the series they would use TWO reviewers. One new to the series. One an expert of everything in the series. Why? The series works a LOT better if you are into all its medias. It really gets an "epic" feel and you can discover more about the various mysteries (like a mystery series.) However, if you just go into one section of it's media's like JUST the games or JUST the anime or JUST the books. Well, it just doesn't work as well.

Ack! Sorry... I didn't know that there was an overall .hack thread already open (I thought it only covered the anime). They had a couple pictures of the main character and a person who I assume is the main enemy character on an official .hack website. But the problem was that it didn't mention anything about their personalities.

Actually, technically the new main character is not a PK, but a PKK (Player Killer Killer). He only PKs PK characters.
However, I am more than slightly disturbed at the fact that the trailer equates each of the new characters with one of the phases...

Actually, There's a new trailer (and screens and things) and new information out at RPgamer, which they aquired at the Tokyo Game show. Though I doubt Haseo will stay "evil" throughout the whole series, or heck, throughout the first game *laughs*. Of course, this isn't to say that Rpgamer hasn't made a mistake before. I'm just quoting ^^ .

I'll check it out, thanks Lovely!
And as for the previous post about the online .hack game... there is one coming out but that wasn't what the thread was originally about.

Yeah, most of the levels will be hard as crap... especially the first one that Ryoko calls you to and the very last one of the game. But overall the story's great and the ending completely surprised me at first.
Safe .hack-ing!!!

Ay, thank you. It sounds good. Oh, yeah I forgot to say this to you... beware of the bracelet! I won't tell you everything about the game (since that just takes the enjoyment from it), but I can reassure you, one of these levels are going to have so many data bugs that you'll be pushed to the edge in a heartbeat! When that level comes, don't data drain unless you absolutely have to! Take care!

Squeak. I'm stuck on Cubia in the second game; my characters don't like me and I don't have many healing items and the Repth thingy laughs at my pain~...

Squeak. I'm stuck on Cubia in the second game; my characters don't like me and I don't have many healing items and the Repth thingy laughs at my pain~... Stuck on Cubia huh? Well what I suggest is that you first give everyone stronger armor. Not only will this toughen your guys up, but it will also score you some brownie points with them. With Cubia, I find that it is easier to focus on two key parts of him: the Cubia core and the Repth thing. I suggest you hammer at the core until the Repth thing arrives, then kill the Repth thing so it can't keep healing the damage you made to the core. After that pesky Repth thing is dead, attack the core again. Don't mind the other things, since injuring the core enough will make them disappear anyway. Choosing any character can work, but I suggest carrying a lot of Mage's Souls, Antidotes, Restoratives, and Healing Potions (or if you can, something stronger), even if you do have a WaveMaster in your team. You will take damage and this makes it where you can use your precious skill points in an all-out offensive. Hope this helps!
