Hey, MetaKnight here... I've finally defeated the horrendous Lord and Master of All Things Evil Marco *poked with a stick* er... Azure Flame God! However, I can't seem to find the Terminal Disk, the anime for this game... is there some kind of a special trick to access it?

Unfortunately, MetaKnight, Terminal Disk is an extra disc that comes with the game if, and only if, you pre-order the game, or buy the special edition of the game, or whatever. Something along those lines. >_>; Someone might be selling it elsewhere on teh intarwebs, but not that I know of. You might be able to get it with G.U. Volume II, however, when that comes out.
Seeing as I have no clue as to the way the information on the disc is told, it might not be an anime. Then again, it might. All I know is that it provides a summary of the first four .hack games and the events in between .hack and .hack G.U. . Which, according to Lovely's LJ, is very depressing for anyone who played the first four games.

No, it sucks. We just have 4 pages of us singing the praises of the game because we enjoy typing. And typing negative things causes fairies to die, so we only type happy things. A similar situation to the tale I'm assuming you've heard, Xemnas. The story where dolphins die if you use punctuation or write out *gasp* more that one sentence. ANYWAYS- MetaKnight- The terminal disk isn't really an anime. The "OAV" for GU is actually those Salvador Aihara reports which are on the game disk itself. What the Terminal disk IS is a bunch of informative .hack video's that become unlocked the more you play the GU game. The terminal disk was included in the "special edition" set of the GU game. (The other extra item in the set being the adorable Haseo figure.) The "special edition" of the game was a limited offer sort of thing, so I don't believe any of them are for sale anymore. The information on the Terminal disks are indeed canon and is told, in character, by a worker of CC Corp. The first four video's basically summerize the first 4 .hack games (.hack//GAME.) With a little extra commentary here and there. It's... not really anime. Just, CG, video of the last games, and a lot of desktop stuff that's narriated. It's nothing too fancy, but it actually works out pretty well. After finishing the first GU game, some more video's unlock which actually reference the first games and even the manga (As SoM mentioned, I actually found it a little depressing.) Anyways, the disks go into the "GU Project" a bit more in depth. It's great stuff . Now, APPARENTLY, unlocking ALL the video's using your computer is really easy, so some folk have put all the video's up on YouTube (from what I've heard.) The problem is that the video's are INTENTIONALLY unlocked out of order, so watching the video's on YouTube would probably give away massive spoilers for volumes 2 and 3 of GU.

They intentionally unlocked them out of order?! That's cruel and unusual! Well since I don't want to spoil things for myself (again), I guess I won't watch it ... thanks anyway, Lovely-san. Anyways, I think that part 2 is coming out in May of this year, so keep a look out for it.

Ha, ha, well, over on the official GU blog they posted the first two Terminal Disk video's. So feel free to go ahead and watch those. They are basically made to watch before the game anyways . Anyways, yeah, part two is coming out in the beginning of May. WEEE~! I can't wait!
