So Wannabeeliza has been teaching me how to draw. Soooooooo, I have gone crazy trying to draw a few characters. But, I need some feedback (or constructive criticism rather) from the experienced artists on the board. (Or just those who have been drawing longer than a couple of weeks.) So far I've drawn three characters, but I was only able to scan one of them. So, you get to see one drawing (so sorry). This is my imitation of Yoh Asakura, but something is...wrong with it. I don't know what it is, and that's where you guys come in. I tried to resize it and um, it's still big so sorry. Okay here it is: Yoh Asakura?Um, so tell me the truth...

I am not an artist or a good drawer myself, so take what I say with a grain of salt, or a pound if necessary. Yoh looks okay, except that the hair hanging on his right side (left side of the picture) seems to be too thick. If you are trying to the exact design, try making that dred, or whatever that type of hair it is called, thinner. Again, I am not an artist, so you should probably hear other people's feedback before using mine.

Actually, I see exactly what you're saying. I thought his hair was just too big overall, but I couldn't really figure out how to fix it without starting over. I'll try it thinner on the next round. Thanks, Useless, that helped a lot.
But, that doesn't mean I don't want any more opinions...

It's actually pretty good, the only thing that bothers me is that his chin/cheek could cut a piece of wood right in half.

Ah, so I should have rounded it off a bit more... I see what you mean. Thanks, Mr. Lobster.

I think you did a pretty good job drawing Yoh, Renna J. Don't forget to keep drawing!

Thanks, MetaKnight. And don't worry. I have to keep practicing or I'll never get it right...

The hair is too big, but I love how you did the face (I can't draw faces at an angle) It's awesome. ^^

Thank you, Bluehairedhorofreak. Yes, the overall consensus (including my opinion) has been that the hair is too big. I'll try to thin it out on my next attempt. I also drew Ren Tao, but for some reason he looks like a girl...
And I find it very interesting that you say you can't draw characters at an angle. I can't seem to draw them facing forward...

Hey, Renna J, when can we expect your next drawing?

When I get off of my lazy butt and scan it...
Oh, it's the Ren Tao one. I do need to post it because I need to figure out what I did wrong to make him look like a girl. (Because he does)

It could be the eyes, sometimes if you make the eyes to big and soft-looking, guys turn out looking like girls.

Seriously. Anatomy confuses me so I cut them off, and they both look...wierd: Ren Tao, sort of...Faust, I guess...Um, yeah.

The Tao Ren one dosen't seem bad at all, Although I will suggest that you darken in your lines when you're finished, just so they're easier to see.
