Finally! The new season's started! @_@ I have a reason to post again!
Alright, my opinions.
Honestly, this has become one of my favorite dub episodes by far. It's truly the most accurate in comparison to previous episodes. Sure, they changed a couple lines here and there, but not enough to completely ruin it. There was NO reference to Yoh's unknown obsession to cheeseburgers, or being a rock star whatsoever!
The only change I would really pick at, is the name of Patch Village. But it's something I can easily get used to.
And now, for my usual random tidbits of voice actors and such!
Sharona = Megan Hollingshead. Her voice is unmistakable. It fits. And she did a wonderful job as this character.
Lily = Lisa Ortiz. Another unmistakable voice. I haven't heard Lily's voice in Japanese, but I have to say, Lisa's voice fits Lily. A little stuffy, but alright nonetheless. I prefer Lisa's Tao Jun voice to Lily, though.
Milly and Elly = I've discussed these voices before, so please refer to one of the older threads.
Sally = God, I can't think of her name. She plays one of the cops that hangs out with Rouge on Sonic X. Personally not too fond of the voice, but it does fit the character. "Destruction makes me happy. >D"
Lyserg = Yes, I heard Lyserg's voice in the preview. xD At any rate, Lyserg's actress sounds like Amy Birnbaum. For those who don't know, she's dub Anzu on Yu-Gi-Oh, and Luffy on One Piece, to name a couple. I'm a fan of her boy voices, honestly, although I'm not really sure it fits Lys. Maybe it'll just take a little time to get used to it.
Well, I'm out for now! See ya!#nosmileys

*sigh of relief* I was thinking I missed some horrible reference the dub made in an episode I missed.

Was the discussion about the "b" button and scrolling down to read the rest of the rules in the original? It came off really well especially with Horo Horo and Rio's follow up comments...

"Was the discussion about the "b" button and scrolling down to read the rest of the rules in the original?" Yep, it was in the original. ^_^ The follow-up comments weren't the same, but Silva did indeed mention the B button. Silva: You can scroll the screen by pressing the B button. Everyone: B button? ...Ahh!! You're right!! HoroHoro: Did you know that it had a structure in this device? Ren: I don't know that much about machines. Ryu: They should've given us the manual! Credit goes to www.geocities.com/princess_garnet117 for the sub script. ^_^

After some thought, I have to admit, this episode turns out to be MY favorite dub episode too. The moment when I said to myself "gee, I really want to see that again" was when I realised. Normally, that is definetly not something I'll say.
I think the reason this episode came off well, despite a few line changes here and there, was that whoever wrote this episode UNDERSTOOD the characters. The dialoug felt natural and didn't contradict each characters personality. Also, for the most part, the humor was more of the lighthearted type as opposed to mean spirited . The comparison this time might be a bit hard to write this time I think. "well, this wasn't actually a joke in the original but..." (I plan to write out the next comparison on Thursday in case anyone is curious ^_~.)

Whaaaat? JT Ross voices Marik on Yu-Gi-Oh, and does not voice anybody on Shaman King as far as I know. HoroHoro is voiced by Michael Sinterniklaas, and Noa Kaiba is voiced by Andrew Rannels, who also voices Tao Ren on Shaman King. Where are you getting your information from? o__O;;

first off.. HAHAHA TO THOSE WHO BELIEVED ME about the british teacher.
2nd off:
i still dont get why so many think 4kid is trying hide "other countries"..
i NEVER saw the original before the dub and noticed it had to take place in japan. another thing is rio refered to "the trip across the globe" for dobi village.
anyway... yea i made the british teacher up.
maybe its just me but len's "family" is rich.. it appears they own a corp. len is therefore... a rich kid.
stereotypial rich snobby "private schooled properly spoken english" boy...
or again... is it just me?
AM I MAKING Sence?
if not.. im sorry, i have test to study... and a taken test to worry about.. brain = scrambled.

I think that 4Kids "hides" nationalities because they believe that delving too much into Japanese culture would confuse other children.

Where are you getting your information from? o__O;; I got it from IMDB, since ANN didn't have any voice listed for Noah (I still say Lyserg sounds exactly like him, especially after listening to the preview a few more times). I thought the Marik = Noah = Horohoro didn't sound quite right, but as I hadn't found any counter info (why ANN doesn't have the info I don't know).

Can you not hear it correctly? ; Lyserg is voiced by a female. He does not sound like Noa, nor does he sound like HoroHoro. They are voiced by guys. Link me to the site you're looking at. There's something really, really wrong here...

I said that I got it from IMDB, and that yes, I thought it sounded funny. **listens to preview for the fourth time** Nope, still sounds like Lyserg = Noah. **turns volume up to full blast and lsitens for a fifth time** Still sounds like Noah to me...

And I told you to give me the LINK, so I could take a look at it. I'm not gonna find the page you're talking about unless you point me directly to the source.
I still can't understand how you think Lyserg and Noa sound alike. Lyserg is voiced by a girl. There is NO male voice actor I know of that can duplicate a voice like that unless they were 12.
And believe me, you're not the only one with the preview on tape.
