Epi 35: HIT HIM! HIT HIM! and vampires ^_~

I almost forgot to both watch the original episode 35 and make this thread this week *laughs*.

Alright, this episode is DARK. Dark but fun, AND still manages to be a bit humerous here and there (in mankin style, humerous at somewhat inapropriate moments)

Well, first some non-spoilery things about this episode.
This episode marks the begining of the second opening and closing songs! Woo~ ! I am a HUGE fan of the opening "Northern Lights". So when I watched this episode today I replayed the opening about three times ^^;. I also LOVE the new ending, It so cool and stylish ^_^ . Also, I have a secret, I actually don't like the first closing song to Shaman King, hence the reason I don't have an mp3 of it on the site. I can't be bothered to go through the trouble .
This brings up another point. I will soon be adding mp3's (space willing) for the second opening and closing songs to the site. Now, on the one hand, I like to put "t.v size" versions of the opening songs on the site because it's sort of a "sneak preview" of what to expect when you see the uncut show itself. HOWEVER, both "Northern Lights" and ESPECIALLY Omakage sound really amazing in their full versions. Hmmm.. well, we'll see. But I digress.

Oh yeah, the opening animation that goes with Northern Lights is pretty interesting. PART of it consists of a few things that are from the first opening (Anna hugging herself ^^;...) . PART of it consists of variations of things from the first opening. And part of it involves interesting visuals accompanied by some interesting "camera" work. I simply LOVE the part where the "camera" jerkily pans over the X-laws. This opening also had quite a few spoilers/Foreshadowing. It happens SO quick that they are a bit hard to catch. Also, they don't make sense until things are revealed in the series and you find yourself going "OH!!!" as you watch the opening slowly make sense . Good direction with this opening ^_^. Right... I'm rambling again...

*** AKA- Why I named this thread "HIT HIM! HIT HIM!" Well, it's cause of Lyserg, he deserved to get hit this episode . And when watching this episode, you will know the EXACT moment he deserves it. All in due time I guess XD . (You know, it sounds like I don't like him, but I really DO love the kid ^^; !)
This episode is actually pretty violent. No blood, but a lot of people getting impaled ._. . This episode also has a lot of scenes that take place in a church. So expect all of that to be glossed over, but still be obvious (No amount of editing can stop this place from looking church like ^_^;.)
Another interesting point in this episode is watching Lyserg being slowly seduced by the X-laws. It's interesting! I admit to getting teary eyed though. I can't help it. These episodes had an impact on me the first time around. heh.****

your right Lovely, I doubt that whatever they do to the church, it'll still look like a church XD. Plus, in the episode after this one, the movie screen has a priest holding up a cross really close to the screen...if 4kids edits this...apparently, vampires are beatable with magical fancy sticks *coughs*
Your also right about Lyserg----wait...seduce him..? That sorta came out wrong...o_0...but he does deserve to get hit in this episode...Im sure Horo Horo will *really* want to hit him *cough*
Erm...Lovely..I dont remember too well...but if I recall...did the movie theater sign say "A Movie Theater" ? ...I swear it said that...or maybe I was just tired...Mankin is on late where I live...it's just funny....*A* movie theater...XD

About the song, do the full versions take up more space? Because I think the full versions would be better. They are better than the T.V Versions. Especially the instrumental parts in the song (the guitar in Northern Lights, and the--well i dont know what it was in Omokage, it was just cool) *-* Megumi-san makes these songs sound even cooler. ><

I can't imagine any song that's more addicting than YuuGiOu Duel Monster's fifth(?) opening theme Warriors, though.I guess I'll have to download it to see.....

.....wow, I'm really looking foreward to seeing how 4kids handles these episodes.It'll be a bit of foreshadowing to me on what they'll do to a certain scene in YGO Duel Monsters(the one where Varron's church is being burned down).....*thinks about the close-up cross for a moment*Hm......any one remember, besides me, the cross that Faust slapped Manta onto way back when?Remember what 4kids did to it?Yeah.....that's gonna be my guess for all things crossy.

Hey the thread is finally here, lol. Northern lights truly is addictive! It's like you hear it once, and it's just playing in your head over and over again all day. Anyway, about the upcoming ep.....

I love Lyserg, really I do, but, GRRR!! He starts to get all "angely" in this ep. But then again, he kinda has to to lead up to what happens in ep. 36. But still. I can't wait to see how 4kids handles this. I agree with the church thing. In ALL the shaman king eps, they try to take out anything religious, or "non American" It'll be interesting to say the least.

Now, I'm sure all of you know by now about my dislike (chaos: she really means hatred) of marco, but thinking back, I don't think I disliked (chaos: disliked = hated) him back 2 episodes ago when we first met him (chaos: yes she did). I think it was around here (chaos: more specifically, these two episodes) that I really started to dislike (chaos: hate) him.

Of course, this (chaos: really next episode) also marks the spot where Horo Horo became my favorite character again (chaos: She's lying. She still had Morphine as number one). Well, until episode 60, I think (chaos: she can never remember episode numbers). But this episode (chaos: and the next) really creeped me out (chaos: she's telling the truth). I'm really interested in what 4crap leaves in, since there's so much mythology in this episode that's not gonna make sense when removed (chaos: very true).

Oh, and resurie, I agree with Lovely's wording of the spoiler stuff (chaos: she's too lazy to type the color codes and say what she's really talking about). Of course, I've also read quite a few websites that have an... 'interesting' take on what happened between the two of them (chaos: those webmasters/webmistresses have sick minds).

Episode 35 was the first episode where the name "Lilly5" came up. Background info=***It's a name that Yoh gives the group without permission ^o^ . And it sticks XD . *** Whether the dub keeps this in or not remains to be seen. I hope they keep it because really, "Lilly5" is really easy to say! (Not to say I don't like the name "Sharona and the Ly's".)

wow. they actually didnt edit out marco holding the gun to sharona and her Li's. im almost positive however that they DID cut the scene a bit so you only saw the top half of the gun.

and yes, i was very surprised yoh hit the wall instead to lysergs face...

Wanna bet? They did do a nice job of hinting at Vlad Tepes fondness for impalaing people. And they actually did keep Marco pointing a gun at the Lily five. Well part of the gun. The rest was cut off by the bottom of the screen and I would not be surprised to learn that they cropped the frame.
Some other thaoughts on the episode...
The X-laws may not have their creepy theme music, but the tone of voice they speak in creeps me out.
Nice to see that Lyserg is the type of freind who's so willing to try everything to save you.
Did Ren have Three cloves of garlic?
Even the Lily 5 are creeped out by the X-laws.

I have to agree with that. Watching the episode today, they just sound WAY too happy to be doing what they are doing. A very creepy happy if you ask me...and way too calm and soothing.

This is sorta off-topic, but while I'm waiting for SK, I was watching the WB...and...has anyone else noticed they had a TV-PG rating floating on the top of the screen for a while? At first I thought it was there for Yu-gi-oh...but its there even during commercials (plus i noticed the TV-Y7 rating behind it in yu-gi-oh...) It was probably just a problem....but still....^^;;; Oh, and also, anyone else notice the animation in Yu-gi-oh seems...well...sloppy? o_0...it just looks weird....

Really, what's so bad about the word 'kill'? Little kids use it all the time.I've seen them talking about Pokemon saying things like "Then my pikachu kills your vulpix"and what-not.
