Epi 38: The Seminoa

I liked backstory. Still if you know about the hot springs gag at all then it's obvious in that one scene. Oh and I have to agree with Lovely. Sad that Faust is still not Crispin Freeman.

Anyways, about the Faust thing, he never tells Manta to join him, he simply tells Anna he's done exercising...followed by Anna giving him more exercise..^^;;

About the 'certain character' looking femenish...** That's the reason why I'm not fond of "Patch Hao" @_@...plus, he just looks funky. ><

Believe it or not, sometimes the dub actually adds good things. I thought it was pretty cool.

As for him looking feminish: Hao looks good no matter where, when, how, or what he's doing. And I'm not even a huge fan of him Silva and Yoh are cute too, but they just can't match up to Hao.

Ahh...finally saw the episode...and after seeing it after quite a while..Patch Hao is cute...from an angle...o_0. He looked funky face front.

Well~ It seems the opening scene wasn't moved, but the conversation was changed. If you ask me, 4kids is bent on making Anna a 100% b*tch. >_O

Apparently, Anna no longer wants Faust as a docter for the Onsen. She simply wants to "have full control over him" or something like that...

Basically, they cut out her whole thing about using Faust for her business. Now, it makes no sense in the dub. --> Anna's dialouge doesn't exactly go with a building in the backround with Faust, erm....moving his fingers in that manner....

They also changed the dialouge of Anna thinking that Hollywood would regonize her and make her a star..(or something...I haven't seen this ep. in a while...) Leading Manta to go "Oh yea! sure!" (or something...^^).

Lovely, it seems that what the last episode explained (the thing about Anna bringing Eliza to Faust, blah blah blah) was explained in THIS episode. Why? Ask 4kids...@_@

Originally, Anna wasn't so mean to Tamao...T_T And Jun's voice is the same VA. (directed to whoever mentioned her voice sounded different, forgot who...^^;;; ) From what her voice sounded like...o_0. Pailong's voice was the one that sounded funny to me...

Wow, all this already..from one scene! XD That outta make Lovely nervous...XD

Chocolove's joke in the dub...well, all I heard was him going "Li Li La La~~!"

Lirilara's voice....mmm. Well, sometimes it was fine, then other times she sounded too 'preachy' in my opinion...Oh, and all the cross-like symbols on her and her clothing were kept intact.

The "go back home" joke was re-written. They changed it to the gang wondering if they SHOULD go back, (all three) then changed Yoh's dialouge to follow and ask them where they were going...o_0.

If you ask me...Lirilara didn't seem too concerned with Yoh and the others in the dub....In the original, whenever Yoh and the other asked to see the vision again, she would ask herself why they would go through it again (the pain). Yet in the dub, she wouldn't, I didn't hear her that well though...so I could be wrong..o_0

4kids' new word for KILL--> PERISH! (oooo!)

The description of what Yoh and the others saw in the vision was changed...Joko and Len mentioning something about 'stars'. o_0

She also didn't tell the Seminoa to attack (I think....) Oh, and it seems the name 'Seminoa' wasn't mentioned, they were simply called the 5 warriors.

Actually, I'm not upset with this, because in the manga, (not sure if this would be a spoiler...Lovely can change it if it is...) Yoh, Ren, Horo, Choco, and Lyserg (yes, not Ryu) are apparently the '5 warriors' destined to defeat Hao.

The dub makes Lirilara come off as if she WANTS the Seminoa to fight Yoh and the others...o_0 Also, the Seminoa's advice to the gang was changed somewhat.

The instructions the Seminoa gave the gang was *almost* intact. Apparantly, 'black sand' is now 'black dust'. o_0 (Great, now SAND is offensive in 4kids' eyes) But I guess that's not much of a big deal. XD

In the last scene, Lirilara asks the gang WHY they want to become Shaman King.

Horo-> Field of plants
Ryu-> Best Place (i think...)
Chocolove-> to be the best comedian ever.

This is what made her laugh. Come on, who wouldn't at those goals? XD

The dub changes it to Lirilara asking them "What if you don't find Dobi Village?" Leading them to comment that they'll find it because they have clues. o_0 Oh, I forgot what Len said in the dub, sorry. XD

As mentioned before, 'Locta Fe' was changed to 'Jam Master Yo'.

I would just like to comment how I HATED how the music went in this episode....it sounded too techno and like..."Yo! wassup!". Plus, it didn't seem to match any of the scenes....I don't know. Maybe it's just me...T_T

Next Episode!! Can't...wait..!! >_O!! Hanagumi!! And~ the Hao/Anna scene! *-*! *twitches like crazy wondering what 4kids will do to it* Hmm...maybe make Anna even MORE b*tchy?

I just about wanted to KILL Anna in this episode! She is NEVER mean to Tamao! In the original she was very nice, to Tamao, and in the dub she was all, "hurry it up, loser!" I couldn't STAND that! Overall the episode wasn't bad, although I didn't like how they left out "I will not forget your pain....I will not forget your anger.....ect." part. I don't know why the left that out, and they changed the deal that Anna and Faust made....again, only this time it was more like the original. It was really sad how they left out Anna's hot spring thing, the visionary didn't even work. 0.0 Okay, well now I've got my ranting and ravings done, lol. I thought Lila had a pretty good VA, I got no problems with her, but they did make Yoh figure out that the person from the visions was Hao, sooner then he did in the original.

Next Episode!! Can't...wait..!! >_O!! Hanagumi!! And~ the Hao/Anna scene! *-*! *twitches like crazy wondering what 4kids will do to it* Hmm...maybe make Anna even MORE b*tchy?

I know, I can't WAIT!!! That's one of the best episodes of all time!! The dub is really making me hate Anna, although I guess that's generally what they do to all girls in dubs. They did it to Tea/Anzu from Yu-gi-oh, and now their doing it to Anna. *goes and gets rifle to shoot 4kids*

4Crap is lucky I like the word perish. It's much better than destroyed. I also like demolished. That has a nice ring to it.

And of course They realize how important the joke is, They are leaving it out on purpose.

To those of you complaining about being "consistant" with the romanization of "r"s and "l"s:

THAT MAKES NO SENSE!!!

Are you saying that if a Japanese show has characters named "River" and "Luna" that the two names MUST be consistant??

"It should be River and Runa!"
or
"It should be Liver and Luna!"

SEE where "consistancy" can be a problem?

Sorry, it's just one of my pet peeves when people complain about "r"s and "l"s when translating names. Especially when one makes nonsensical arguments.

All other arguments about the dub make sense by the way. It saddens me about how Anna is being portrayed in this version, especially considering how her original self is one of my favorite female characters .

(sidenote: I work tomorrow during the airing of the episode in my area. But no worries, I'm taping it. The thing is, whenever I tape it... it always takes me a while to actually get to watching it ^^; .)
