"It should be River and Runa!" or "It should be Liver and Luna!" *laughs* Liver....that out to be a nice name for a character eh? XD I agree with Lovely, besides, the Japanese pronounce the "l" more than the "r", if you ask me. If you listen closely in Jap. songs, it sounds like the singer pronounces "l". But if you look at the lyrics, it's spelled with an "r". Example: In the SK song "Kirameku Kakera". When Megumi-san sings, it sounds like "KiLAmeku KakeLA". Same with Oversoul--> "Yomigaere" (the opening lyric) is pronouned "YomigaeLE". anyhoo~ Let's leave the "l" "r" conversation, shall we? Back on the dub~..... *Silence*........ ........what? I have nothing else to say, you guys discuss...o_0

Yeah, "l"s and "r"s are interchangable in Japanese. End of story.
Anyway, I...missed...this ep. Gah...

okay... so the liver thing is a good point...
but thusfar, what would have been so bad with
Len and Malik? or Ren and Marik? why did they have to change BOTH names?
and is it just me, or did jun get WAY friendlier? she reminds me of a green-haired chinese tea. thats scaring me now. jun is so much better than that friendship-spewing **censored comment**! she has utterly lost her edge... i am ashamed. now i have to wait for that whole 'destroying the dynasty' 3-ep thingy to come out on DVD to remember why...

That doll thing does look kind of like Kororo after you mentioned it, Ashil.
And did anyone notice when Faust does sit ups, his stomach doesn't have that blue thing on it.

And did anyone notice when Faust does sit ups, his stomach doesn't have that blue thing on it. Yea I notice that too.For some reason I thought they edited it,but that wouldn't make sense.Anyway there's a blooper right there. ;D
Oh by the way resurie, that was me that thought that Jun's VA changed.I thought it did.It sounded like it to me.Oy, I'm nutty today.XP

Which reminds me, the French YGO manga used "Marik" too... - It appears "Marik" is actually an alternate rendering of his name.

Jun let go of her hatred and all the crap that her father/uncle taught her. She let go of it all, unlike Ren, which is kinda why Ren is still sometimes mean, although we all love him for that anyway. That's why Jun is nice now, she has no reason to be mean, and she turned nice along time ago. Besides she's thankful to Yoh for saving her and Ren, and since Anna has alot to do with Yoh (being his finace and all) she's definetly gonna be nice.
Anywhoo, like the majority of you have been saying, Japanese L's and R's are interchangeable. There isn't actually even such a thing as a Japanese L, only R's. With their accent most R's sound like L's though, so I guess just however it sounds better in the name is how they put it in the dub. Len/Lenny is an actual name so that's probably why they used L. In Malik, they changed it to Marik, but honestly malik sounds kinda weird, if your thinking of it in the english sense, it seems like he likes to lick things. XD Sorry that's just my own weird comment, ignore it, lol.
By the way, lovely, it certainly looks like your gonna have fun doing comparisons for this ep. There really is alot that was changed I've noticed, but mostly just in the Anna scenes, which I still can't figure out for the love of life why the have to screw with Anna so much! Anna is the awsomest character. She portrays strength and the ability to kick peoples butts anytime, anywere, but also has a slight (very slight) softer side. She's just awsome, and 4kids.....has killed her. *grabs machine gun instead of rifle to go shoot 4kids*

xD Ha ha, the joke they gave to Chocolove during Lilirara's laugh scene was actually great.
Joco: Because we had our own singing flower to guide us! LILI LA LAAAA~!

Slightly off-topic, but on the 'l/r' thing...
Technically 'Malik' is the correct spelling... 'Malik' is the Aramaic word for 'king,' and I believe that that is the reference.

Which reminds me, the French YGO manga used "Marik" too... - It appears "Marik" is actually an alternate rendering of his name. Bah, I know it aint Mankin, but I feel like answering. From what I know of YGO, "Malik" is the normal one, while "Marik" is the evil..um...spirit dude. It's apparently the same with Bakura. "Ryou" is the good one, and "Bakura" is the other evil..spirit dude. But I'm not that much of a YGO fan..so~ my info may be incorrect. Either I haven't been paying attention to this episode every time I've seen it, or I'm just dense....But I didn't see how any of the Seminoa looked like Kororo....o_0 Ah, yea, XD I noticed the flaw in Faust. The funny thing was that I noticed it when watching the dub....Since I haven't seen this episode in a while, I don't remember the visuals that well...but I doubt the dub edited it.

In the YGO Dub, they refer to the 'evil' ones as Yami (dark) and the 'good' ones as... crap, I can't remember...
Anyway, this is one of the 3 episodes that I haven't seen in Japanese, so I can't tell much about what was changed... but I did notice a few things that were definitely wrong... I'll watch my tape and figure out what they were ((I was watching later episodes today, so I can't trust my memory right now)).

i tried looking for the pic but the site didn't have it.
if you have the episode, go to the end where the spirits are going to heaven and you see a closeup of the wooden dolls. one of the wooden dolls looked like a minution(sp?)

This ep was okay, I think 4Kids probably watered it down. Patch Hao looks more like an older Hao than Silva. And damn those warriors were not attractive.
Concerning the "L" and "R" thing, here's something I noticed in the 1st uncut DVD. In a scene, I think it's in the 3rd ep, Manta's in school and the teacher's apparently teaching english. In the dub she says: "Taro likes the bus very much. The beautiful river runs..."
In the Japanese version she says, in english, "Taro likes bus very much. The beautiful liver luns..."
That's how I heard it pronounced, I may be wrong.

Okay. I have no problem with the l and r thing. I just ignore it.
Not much to talk about this episode. I did think the part when the gang starts to leave that the dialog was changed. I just can't picture Yoh being that afraid. But he did try to run away too.................anyway
Faust's voice = HATE!! Moving on. ;D
Pailong did sound a bit different. It was still Dan Green though. He just sounded a lot more like Yami from the Yugioh dub.
As predicted Lirilara was changed to Lililala. No suprise here.
I thought it was funny when Tamera yelled "What? What? What?" Anyone who has read the SKU RPG Series should know that I started a gag with what's with s91. It's not exactly the same thing but I thought it was funny anyway.
I liked the part when Jocko was making a bad joke and Horo hits him.
Jocko: You guys should try spending all day coming up with a joke. Len: Sorry my schedules full.
I did notice that Jocko knowing of Lirilara and ANna's deal wiht Faust were finally recognized an epsiode later!!!
Did I mention how much I hate Fausts voice? I'm starting to realize how Lovely feels about Mikihasa's voice. I hate Fausts new VA just that much!!
resurie: I don't remember you telling me about Hao reincarnating as Silva. I thought he was an Asakura every lifetime. Or is Silva an Asakura? That would kinda make him a little too biased to judge his Shaman battles wouldn't it?
Jam Master YO? *vomits
Kanna is the name I was trying to remember. I didn't see a cigarette in her mouth or did she not have one in that scene? Her spirit is in her smoke right? How will 4kids handle that I wonder? I liked Kanna's voice by the way. It's not valley girlish, so I'm fine.
EDIT: Oh yeah..... I HATE YOUR VOICE FAUST!!!
