Nah, it's not. Though I will admit (And I forgot to mention before) that it actually was funny. XD Had me laughing. Oh, I wanted to mention this and I forgot! Goldva's announcement! ^_^ Hilarity. And it actually was like that in the original. XD Though the last scene, the people just fell over, they weren't all "Teams of 3?!!?!11/ WTFOMG!!!111  !!" 0_o...Umm...yeah...I really don't get how forming teams of 3 would be so...surprising and hard.... Ah well...that's just me...T_T Another thing made me laugh in the dub. XD Since Goldva is a woman (in the anime at least), it made me laugh when dub Anna mentioned "Ok, you heard the man, you need to form teams of 3." XD |

XD But in the manga, Lip and Rap call Goldva "Great Father" so I supposed he/she was a male. I'll just call him/her him/her!! |

I actually mentioned this a few threads back I believe. It confused me because in the manga, Lip and Rap call Goldva grandpa. >< But in spanish, he/she has a woman's voice. But that was after he/she at first had a man's voice. ><?! And Lovely told me Goldva had a woman's voice in Japanese.... So now resurie is confused...Ah well...we'll just say Goldva's a gender-fun character like Opacho. XD (despite we know Opacho is a girl now... .__.) |

The rewind at the beginning caught me...
If I remember right, they have the chiefs say their lines...and the one goes, "...through the black dust..." and then when they rewind to him he says, "I SAID the black dust!"

O.k, I just got back from watching the dub of this episode. GREAT stuff! But... you know... Has anybody ever noticed that whenever the dub makes an episode god awful the NEXT episode they show is ussually great? Kind of makes you wonder at the politics/business behinds the scenes huh? Moving on... WOW. This episode was great! I was really surprised, and for the most part it was surprisingly accurate. If they had just added the original music for the final scenes I would of been 98% pleased  . As it stands... about 92% pleased on my part ^_~ . First point, at some parts... the new music wasn't all that bad for once. I remember the begining music being kind of nice. I think the reason for this is because the track there was a longer peice instead of the choppiness 4kids ussually uses. The original music is best of course, but there was a piece or two in the dub that were fine. Someone mentioned that Amidamaru didn't mention Jun when he was listing off people who couldn't go through the water cave. Well, oriiginally, Amidamaru only said "Anna and the others" . So there ya go. (This isn't really an edit so I won't be mentioning it in the comparison, I just wanted to point it out.) The subtitling would of been great if that stupid 4kids logo wasn't in the way  . They.... rewrote the PATCH sign on the resteraunt 0_o . Here is the original. If anybody would like to donate a screenshot of the new sign that would be helpful. So uh... yeah... the leaving of the name "Patch" on there is VERY intentional. But... I wonder... why did they decide to go with the name "Patch" now? Well... I guess they are just sort of giving a shout out to us the orignal fans ^^;. The "test" was originally a "blessing". Techincially I think only Yoh and his group went that way ^^;. Res-- Hao originally called the place where the great spirit is "The devine land of the stars", so "Star Sanctuary" is fine. I guess it was called something different by Hao in the spanish version? The loudspeaker talk by Goldva was basically the same. Except, in the orignal you can hear Goldva hit the assistant who threw away her notes ^^; . The change where people are freaking out because of the three teams thing kind of makes more sense in the dub..... Originally, they were just freaking out because of the way Goldva was giving out the rules... Yes, the pebble thing was added but... It was SO funny and SO Ryu XD . I noticed that humor works better when its actually in character. Yeah... it DOES sound like Kororo says "Magikarp" at the end 0_o . It doesn't even sound like her regular english VA. I wonder what happened there... Finally, the kids didn't talk in the end. That's basically the whole comparison. Weeeee~ It's gonna be easy to write this week ^__^ . EDIT: AAAAAAGH! I forgot! There actually WAS one fairly big change. That is the time thing. In the dub, in order to add a bigger sense of tentsion I guess, they added that they only had ONE day to get to the village. In the original they didn't mention this. So you sort of assume that they made it there with a good amount of time to spare. |

NEXT EPISODE IS REN-CENTRIC YAY!!!!!!!!!
Anyhow...the subtitles during the underwater scene were cool, but I couldn't figure out who was saying what so...>.<

This episode was very refreshing. "I've got a pebble in my shoe..." XD!! "I...uh...threwthemaway..." XD XD! (Ooh now I wanna see the original; I wanna hear Goldva slap him XD...) Lol to the several times Faust and Yoh were snuggling XD (And them plus Ryu just made my day). I would have been frightened if it was me. Kororo to me sounded like she went "BLUAK--" I though she was gagging or something... [Edit!] (Hey, I got more to say!) "What did you say about a swan?" Lol, too bad the 4Kids logo was in te way of part of it...Ya know, they should really set that up better. "Somebody took the tunnel away..." XD That is SO something I'd say...even though I'm not blond...sometimes I think I should be, though... Ren seemed really quick and happy about chosing his teammates. Kinda taken by surprise by that one... Btw, Peyote, I like your sig! It made me laugh! A lot! [Another Edit!] Why is Ryu dead? |

They did have some real good lines in this episode. The Rio one about the pebble, and Rens one about how he'd fight and Horo Horo and Chocolove could just amuse him.

Ok, I have to say that I disliked this episode... *is lost in a crowd of people who like it  * Alright, now while the rewind WAS funny... (and please correct me if I'm wrong) Manta... Manta wasn't even there when they gave the instructions.. and even if he was (I don't think they had met up yet...) he would not have seen this... illusion. So it annoyed me that he is the one to mention that they are maybe going the wrong way. Ok, the peble in the shoe is a good joke... but I started liking Ryu when he really started following Yoh... so when I read and see that in the original he talks (thinks) about following Yoh... well I think I would have prefered that. I am not a fan of underwater talking. They tend to do this sometimes in animes... but have u ever tried to talk underwater? you can't hear a thing... just a bit of sound. But it wasn't like a conversation or anything like that soo... it's not too bad.  Yoh hugging Faust... S-C-A-R-Y  FRIENDS X 1000 = The dream. I din't like it... not the great spirits voice.. or the obvious... fact that they arn't really hurt... but it's a dream/illusion/whatever. Maybe the original was better with this... (good music probably helps with the mood). I found the Goldva not-having-his/her-notes slyghtly corny, probably would have been better if he/she would have hit the guy responsible for throwing out the notes. ok Hugs at the end are cute;D So, the teams have finally been formed! Oh yeah, I also noticed that amidamaru din't mention Jun, thought that was kinda mean  . And finally... the weird Kuroro sound ... What was that!? It was completely ridiculous... ~That's about it... hehe loved the hug pics ;D Thank you for those  (Oh and I also want to know why was Ryu dead?  ) |
