Epi 45: finally... Finally! FINALLY! FINALLY ^_^ !

The title of this thread comes from Manta's "next episode" previews. I love those things so much, they are so funny ^^. *cough* Aaaaanywaaaays....

For those wondering... the "Funbari Onsen" comment isn't made in this episode, it's the next I think.

This episode DOES have a really clever and incredibly funny sequence to it though. Will probably be changed for the dub though...

PATCH VILLAGE!!! WOOOO~ They finally make it ^_^ !

The begining of this episode has another "Manta talking moment" that basically says... "We're moving on! again! REALLY this time!"

Manta once again breaks the fourth wall by pointing out a flashback. The flashback even "Rewinds" like a tape ^^; . In other thoughts, the boys are cute when bickering.

The underwater sequence is hillarious! The goofy music is a wonderful touch.
The poor boys almost drowning ^^; . I wonder how the dub will handle this scene? Considering it's all technically subtitled. Hmm... Well, my favorite part of this sequence is when Yoh and Faust are sort of holding each other and Faust says something to the effect of "I'm coming to join you Eliza!" .

"The Great Spirt(s)" make their first official apperance in this episode. It was great to see originally because the spirits are shown in the opening sequence/song of every episode. It's just cool to see them in the actual story itself.

When Yoh is having his "nightmare", and he's all alone it's... kind of hard to watch. To see Yoh freaking out is kind of sad . (Yoh doesn't like being alone. So for him, it's a true nightmare.)

PATCH VILLAGE! Of course the dub calls it "Dobi" village. The problem is that the word "Patch" is written almost EVERYWHERE in the village, even on Kalim's apron ^^;. Soooo, expect the digital ink to flow ;_; ...

The scene where Hao, the X-laws, and Yoh's group meet each other is wonderfully tense .

Snuggles! Yoh, Ryu, and Faust. Poor Yoh... but it's cute ^^ !

And finally, an instrumental version of Yoh's insert song plays at a very important point of the episode. It won't be in the dub .

*Ya, i didn't really get the point of the dream sequence, other than to emphasize the importance of Yoh's friends...which i guess does get really important at the last episode...

The dream sequence was kind of an annoying break in the story, cuz suddenly...OMG!! Yoh wakes up in Patch Village!! Ya, it makes Patch Village kinda a weird place - detached from the rest of the world, and it detracts from the realistic factors of Shaman King (yes, Shaman King is realistic ). In the same way, I didn't like how the characters left Patch Village, but that's for the last episode, isn't it? ^-^

I wonder how they're gonna do the "voices" of the Great Spirits, the creepy noise that comes from them...or whether it'll be there at all...*

I find myself thinking that the opening will be changed. Why? Because it's a scene that gives us insite into the overall picture, and they like cutting those.

Umm... the subtitling... they're gonna have to do A LOT of editing to get around that... cuts or digital paint. I suspect we'll be able to understand the dialogue.

The *blue cave joke* will probably be made more obvious.

and that's as far as I could get in the episode... my connection is failing me, and I think WMP is affecting it.

Concerning the subtitling in the episode. I'm fairly certain that the subs for that scene are on a seperate layer/cell. So I'm pretty sure that 4kids aquired the "clean" version of said scene. But who know ^^; .

Finally! I was wondering how long it was going to take to get to Patch Villiage.I was also wondering,where the heck are the Lilly 5?
I haven't seen them for awhile.I miss them.

EDIT:Just saw the preview for it.*shudders*
I didn't like the Great Sprirts voices that much.Also I do feel sad for Yoh when he's trying to get to the villiage.

Actually, and I am saying this from only hearing the dub preview, it seems the 4kids dub AND the original chose similar voices and voice effect for the spirits.
Yeah, it's supposed to be kind of creepy ^^; .

It seemed like a good epy in all, I loved it when Yoh said there would have to fight eatch other later on and the others were all "he's right" but Ryu was "There's a rock in my shoe"

Someone at 4kids screwed up because they left Patch Cafe in. Someone is going to get a scolding for that. And suprisingly they didn't edit out Yoh using chopsticks and make into a fork or something.

I think they left the "Patch Cafe" in, simply because it could be the name of a resturant. Like... "Champs" or something. So, it probably wasnt a mistake.

I like Ryu's line too, "I have a rock in my shoe..."
Totally destroyed the rather serious mood that the show was in, and it made me burst out laughing.

I know but it just seems odd for them to leave any signs untouched. I must say the Ryu was perhaps the best line in the show. And when Ryu and Faust were getting awfully close to Yoh was also quite hilarious.

If you looked closely, you could also see Patch written on Kalim's apron, but I guess that could go with what Nielrian said. I wonder what they're going to do with PatchDnald (yes, the D and N are right next to each other).

Okay,first off,SNUGGLE TIME!!!XD
I LOVED it when Ryu-sama and Faust was were hugging Yoh.It was so cute! I want Ryu-sama to huggle me...

The underwater scene was really funny too and so were the subtitles were great too.Poor Faust didn't get his line.But it was funny when they came out and Yoh and holding on to Faust and crying.One of the best part!

I thought it was a great eppy.Had me laughing the whole time, so yeah.I'm still sad about the Faust line being cut.

Finally, an episode I've seen the original for. And it's kind of a favorite of mine.

Ah, the dream scenes weren't as cool as they were before. Especially when they showed everyone's dreams. But, then again, they took out the background music that made it pretty cool.

I don't know if anyone else noticed this but, when they showed the ghosts all standing around again near the end....I swear I heard Kororo/Kory make this weird, oddball noise that sounded a little like 'magikarp'.
