First-- If 4kids messes this episode up, I WILL cry. Read on to find out why ^_~ .
For the record, my favorite episode is episodes 15 and 16 (yes, I consider them one episode.) If you've seen episodes 15,16 and 49 of the original than you can probably figure out why I like these three so much ^o^ .
Slight SPOILER ***Episode 49 actually deals a bit with the events of 15 and 16 ^_~ . That is, the episode where Faust is introduced and tortures Manta. ***
Now, first, Lovely's obligatory ramble and weekly complaining !:
I still haven't seen the dub of episode 48 yet ^^;. As such, I haven't had a chance to re-watch episode 49 yet. So, I can't really put out any edit predicitions yet. Sorry! I've had to work a lot this week. Seriously!
Actually, I'm a little worried about the episode 48 comparison too. I think BOTH versions have some pop culture music references that I just don't quite "get". *sigh*
Putting that aside...
Original Episode thoughts!
I really will cry if the dub messes this episode up T_T ...
***
I love the way this episode deals with past events a bit. Most shounen anime don't really go through the trouble.
Anyhoo, yeah, this episode shows off how BOTH Faust and Manta have changed and matured.
Manta in particular has really matured a lot during the course of the series (if not the most.) I really love to see "commical" characters have a sincere cry everyonce and a while. I loved the scene where Manta starts crying and QUIETLY leaves the room where everybody is sleeping so that he doesn't bother them (though Yoh notices and does say a little something.) It's just those little moments of self-sacrifycing kindness that I love most about Manta.
.... I just KNOW the dub is going to mess this up and add a lot of unnecesary dialoug ;_; .
Faust shines pretty well in this episode too. This episode really shows that he's technically kind of a quiet guy *laughs*. But Faust is actually kind and very observant and that's what makes him great!
This episode is just FULL of subtle quiet moments. *siiiiiigh* I love it.***
Well, to those who've seen the original episode recently feel free to predict the edits. Just make sure you spoiler mark it until the episode actually airs ^_~ . (Saturday-ish.)
