Cool, my own made-up "-chama" suffix has engraved itself into others' dialect! ^_^
But, I concur; Lovely-chama, you shouldn't cry. Some of my favourite episodes of anime were destroyed by 4Kids, it happens to all of us. "Jounouchi Shisu" of "Yuugiou" was completely wrecked for me, since I'd seen the original.
((Slight OOC-ness here: Wheee! 300th post!))

Well, I just haven't been liking these episodes lately. even HoroHoro's ep. was given a yawn from me. This one does too. I mean, I'm all for giving Faust some more depth, but man they totally "destroyed" this eppie.
I didn't realize that the table oversouls guy that RP Lovely fought was for real. I thought you made that up Lovely!! XD
How come every episode these 3 on 3 fights become 1 on 3 fights. Just because Faust has a plan doesn't mean his team has to stay sidelined. Are all these episodes going to be like this. Is the next one a Choco episode?
Is he going to fight a team by himself too?

-sigh-
4kids.
Ah, oh well. Manta's really cute in this episode so... yeah. The insane guys crack me up but remind me strangely of me and my friends... -cough- And at the part where 'Morty' and Faust are walking along listening to the radio was I the only one who heard Texas? "And now let's give a shout-out to Mary from texas!" Gasp! 4kids actually said a place that little kids might recognize! Quick! Get the camera!
...ahem. Yeah, I'm weird.

O.k, first the pro's of this episode of the dub. The voice acting. It was top notch. Even Morty sounded cute in the begining and his absolute last line at the end of the episode was cute as well. I even liked Meloce's (the kid's) voice. I think I just like scratchy kid voices *laughs nervously*. Now... on to why Lovely is sad. The cons: Most of the scripts for the original episode run about 5-7 pages. This episode is unique in that the original script only went up to 4. That's right, this episode had a LOT of intentionally silent moments. 1st point of why Lovely is sad. Manta NEVER complained about what Faust had done to him in the past. He had a nightmare about it, but even then he DID NOT say what was specifically bothering him. It just showed a lot of Manta's personality that he didn't want to complain about Faust. Why not? Manta in his heart understood that Faust had changed, he just couldn't help being a bit traumatised about it. THAT is why Manta is upset. In other words.... MANTA NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT DISTRUSTING FAUST!! 2- The "surprise" of the episode. The surprise of the episode is that the Mother, who seems to be sick, is really NOT. It was the kid who had a disease. So why was the mom fainting and the like? She really WAS using up too much Furyoku in trying to win battles. The family was fighting in the Shaman Fight so that they could become "Shaman King" and from their be able to heal the kid. The kid cries at the end due to Faust figuring all this out (the kid also felt a bit guilty about his parents trying so hard for his sake I think.) 3-- The whole "Manta's mom" addition. Even Manta's dream was infected with this v_v . I suppose it added some dramatic impact but... she's alive~! The dub takes advantage of the fact that Manta's parents never show up in the series *sulk*. Oh, and this is another episode that sort of takes for granted that you read the manga. Manta probably likes the "happy family" so much because his own family is NOTHING like that. Well, that's my take on it anyways. Oh yeah, it should also be added that the parents DID hurt themselves a bit with their "last resort" attack. Yoh even comments that it's a good thing Faust is a doctor so that he can help them. *sigh* Well... at least my episode is out of the way now. I didn't realize that the table oversouls guy that RP Lovely fought was for real. I thought you made that up Lovely!! XD Yep yep, I took that directly from the series *smiles*. How come every episode these 3 on 3 fights become 1 on 3 fights. Just because Faust has a plan doesn't mean his team has to stay sidelined. Are all these episodes going to be like this. Is the next one a Choco episode? Heh. Yeah well... The next episode is the last of these kind of episodes for... well, pretty much the whole series. However, the next episode is kind of different as it's sort of a combination Ren and Choco episode. The next episode is also really cool because it sets something up that the anime had been ignoring up until now. In other words, a VERY intentional manga reference... but... we're straying off topic here...

Ren + Choco episode... hmm... I don't seem to remember this one... Actually id go as far as saying its a Ren-HoroHoro-Choco episode. Theres a lot of insight into Ren, some into HoroHoro and Choco gets a little bit of air time in an episode that in theory should be all about him

Hm, that wasn't *so* bad. Manta sure was harsh, though.
Mm, I love Faust's voice... It's so soft and creepy ^^
Funny--
Ren: You kept me up all night! Me: Ooh ooh ooh, is that so?? XD

The next episode is ** about all that "Darkness in your heart" crap. >>; And that girl named Nyorai, and that she sings that...song thing, and everyone goes all "whoo drugged" on her....Yeah....

NIELRIAN! *Glomps you*
Anyways, yeah, next episode is Ren-Horo-Choco.
But mostly Ren. w00t!
Yeah, the manga reference.
PLEASE DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU ARE DOING SO OF YOUR OWN FREE WILL WITH SOUND MIND, AND YOU REALIZE THAT THIS WILL SPOIL POSSIBLY BOTH THE MANGA AND THE ANIME FOR YOU.
SPOILER QUESTION THAT I ACTUALLY WANT SOMEONE TO SPOIL FOR ME, THANKS: In the manga,Ren kills Chrom (and looks rather hot, might I add), and the story progresses. Later is it not Nichrome, his brother who comes back to avenge Chrom's death and plots to kill Ren? While in the anime, he says that Nyorai has illuminated the darkness in his heart and no longer hates Ren. What was the reason for this MAJOR diversion from the story. Probably hadn't been written, right?

We really shouldn't be talking about episode 50 so much in the episode 49 thread....
But, I'm nice soo...
SPOILER FOR 50!!! **** Nichrome still VERY much hates Ren after the incidents in episode 50. It's just that in episode 50 Nichrome isn't quite himself (for good reason.) I don't know if the dub decided to change this though 0_o ....****
