Episode 61 (insert witty title here)

I hope this is a good time to start this. Last week I was going to start the Episode 60 one and then I had to work Saturday... Thank you Useless for starting that thread.

So discuss the episode for I know nothing!

You're welcome, Saturn. Anyways, my thoughts/knowledge of this episode:

**
-Original title was "Eternal Farewell"

-Newest nuisance for the Mankin gang: getting past those damn birds at the pillars

-Yoh and Hao have a swordfight that is very reminiscent of "Star Wars"

-Hao apparently tells Yoh he does not need him anymore, ever since he gained power from eating Shamash

-The infamous soul-eating scene occurs before the show ends

-Apparently, Hao eats Yoh because he does not like that he is weak

-Slip in her strong character: Anna lets out a ear-piercing scream, "YYYYYYYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", after realizing Yoh's soul is gone

all i remeber when i saw this episode in may is anna's scream and the scream in the oringal episode was a lot more scary and powerful then the one in the dub but not to bad for what they could've done.Just have her say Yoh all happy clappyish to make everyone feel happy

Well... since we've already mentioned the scream that was in the spoiler tags anyways :

I have no doubt that the english va COULD pull it off, but I doubt the directors will let her . "Kids show" and all. (that, and they probably wouldn't want her to kill her voice.)

I haven't seen the original of this episode in like a year ^^;.

BUT! I remember the subs I was watching almost ruined that cool scream moment at the end because of the silly fan-sub subtitling effect . WHY must fansubers use fancy subs like that? Are they showing off their equipment? It RUINS moments >_< !

It was alright, i guess....definate dialogue changes here and there, I think...

....Yoh got eaten. o.o; Something about that...seemed...different...maybe i need to watch the original again but...just...something was not right about that scene...they either made it slower or SOMETHING..;;

...Anna's scream sucked, IMO. I think she couldve done better.

i dont know what anna VA naturally sounds like but i think her scream stayed nicely in character i know whenever i scream it getrs all high pitched and its usauly like short EEK

those would be VERY cool light sabers

i have a AMV that had sceens in it that were from this episode so i got some closer! i wonder what will happen next from the preivew it looks like a good fighting episode...

i wonder what yoh's soul tastes like...oranges...for some reason i think cotten candy or maybe "hmmm tastes like chicken"

grrr... had to do roof repairs half way through the episode.

From what I could tell there was very visual little edits.

- Cut a few seconds from each Jun speech
- completely removed Ryu yellow button (before they just edited it)
- Completely changed script.

Major script changes:
- Hao was suppose to powerful enough to take the Great Spirit with merging with Yoh. Hao thought Yoh was too weak, and he didn't want to see his face anymore.
- Ren and gang, wanted to find and help Yoh (not the Great Spirit), and it wasn't their power that let them in, it was their belief.
- Hao orginally counted the number of times he could have killed Yoh in the battle.
- In the orginal, Yoh asked Hao some questions, not just wanting to start fighting (remember, Yoh is "all let's be friends").
- Hao in the orginal was teasing Yoh about his "It will all work out" line.

I am sure there is more, but I missed the end of the episode.

Clearly, she can't. That was the only part of the dub that I watched, and I was quite disappointed.

and the scream hmmmm i can just see 4kids after hearing the oringal waving there arms and being all'Oh no dramatic scream must tone it down to make it more shouty waily ,so the viewer will be less shocked by the scary scene we surpisingly didn'tcut.

One of the main reasons I watched today's episode was to see the soul-eating and screaming scenes.I was a little disapointed by how weak the dub scream was.

No Silent Weapon was played, of course. ;-; That was saddening. I love that song and it fit well...4kids music sucks.. .__.; Nyu..
