SJ made me happy for it tells me when Shojo Beat is coming out. And now I know Hikaru no Go anime really is coming out. Yaaay. (<- Oh, the enthusiasm)

I really never noticed that they changed "kill" to "destroy". Guess I was not paying attention. I'll look through some issues later.

Why have they been editing anyway? Yes, they have young readers, but it's their responsibility if they see something they don't want to or shouldn't be looking at. 4Kids has taken over SJ staff's brains. Nuuuu.

Yes, I do believe that was Hao as well. I think he looks cool, and I love how he's sitting next to a random outlet. I have to find a picture of that and do a fan-edit of it somehow...
The situation is simply becoming rather aquard with some of the dialoge, the names... they use the word 'die' on Arthur and Reading Rainbow on PBS, as I've mentioned in some other posts, so, why can't they in a T-rated manga...?
One Piece. Yohoho, arr, blow me down off the port bow. I frankly don't notice it as much in the manga as in the anime. It's just so... glaring to hear such things spoken outloud. And the voice actors just don't sound right saying it. Some people can talk like that and actually sound natural. Some people just sound silly. No offence to the voice actors. *does a little cheer to...uh... cheer up the voice actors, and to asure them that I ment no harm*
The whole 'destroyed' thing has become a not-so- inside joke with my friends and me too.

Flipped through Shonen Jump this morning. I crossed out the word "destroyed" and replaced it with "killed". That solves one thing. ::goes off to draw a gun in za SJ::

This month, Tetsuo Kaga's cigarette scenes in HnG were edited in Gum scenes, but the One Piece translation is so good!

Sj was just delivered today, and they are going for broke to redeem themselves. "die, die, kill, kill, death!" Seriously! In two pages of One Piece (the first thing I read) they said kill/die etc. a whopping SEVEN TIMES. They explain the Manji (that thing that can look like a Swastika) rather than edit it out.
Oh, and Ren's horse has a terrific butt crack.
More on this as I read more, I guess. I've only had the Shonen Jump for about fifteen minutes. I just had to report. Go Shonen Jump! Doomo arigato gozaimasu!(and also there is Faust VIII ^^)

I still have to read mine all the way through(I thought it was late because I had to renew my subscription, but I guess not), but all the manga seem to be getting to a good part. One Piece is out of its early lull, Naruto's just about at the "tournement" part of the Chuunin exams, SK's contuniung the Faust fight, and...uh, I don't remember where the other ones were at. Oh well.
It bugs me that OP's merman are being called "fishmen", though.

Shonen Jump edits manga? And all this time I thought it was the original. I must know what I'm missing! I only read the English manga because where I bought my Shaman King DVDs they have the English manga only, not the Japanese. I always thought that they only had the English version because since the import DVDs were all original, I thought that the English manga was, too! Can someone e-mail me what I've missed please?! Someday, I am going to Japan and getting the original manga, in Japanese. I don't care if it takes me years to translate them, I SHALL HAVE UNTAMPERED-WITH FAUST VIII!!!
Oh, and I saw the firecracker, atleast that's what I thought it was. It was in the YuYu Hashuko, though. And that series still seems... suspiciously edited. They are still skirting the words 'die, kill', etc. but then, that just may be the author's style.(?)
Well, at least the manga that we've been commenting about is getting better. @_@
(how does that work? If we are influencing their editing-or lack there of- wouldn't they just go all out with all of it? Kid's will be traumatized by the word death in YuYu but won't read on to see it in One Piece? Not to mention Sanji...)
