Hmm, people had covered the main people already, better think of an original post......
Actually, I kind of think Chocolove would make a good Shaman King. I mean, he does have a understanding of the pain in the world, considering his dark little past. Plus, like Chocolove said before, he does not want to see people die anymore (at least during his first fight in the tournament), and his dream of spreading the winds of laughter sounds nice, as we can always could use a laugh to heal, regardless of the situation, and another plus is that this plan does not call for any extremist actions like mass murders.
Of course, the only flaw in this plan is if the winds of laughter just makes you put aside the pain for a while instead of learning to deal with it.....

Pshaw, they wouldnt just GO FIND the Shaman King, they'd have a batman-type big light thing in the sky! Hilarious. Classic Gus. I still rank Hao as my first choice (and if I weren't human I wouldn't alter his views) but I'm leaning toward Ryu and Ren as my second and third choices, respectively. (I guess if Hao dies and needs a successor) Drave and RyuLover67 are right: The Happy Place is ideal, and it would be nice to change the "evil" people of the world without having to kill them. Although I admire Yoh's calm nature and loyalty, his laziness bothers me. I'm sure he could be serious when the situation would call for it, but I would rather he sit on the side and assist. (This post doesn't make any sense to me. I should get some rest. Brain is fried. Hope you get my point. If I try to rewrite it, my head will start to hurt. *bricked*) |

for some reason im starting to think of Manta as Shaman King but that doesnt quite work does it?
Gus if they use the batmans spotlight kinda thing what symbol are they going to project....a gaint SK? or if yoh is shaman king a little cut out a spirit ball amidamaru? XD that'd be SOOOO COOL!

Hmm... I think Ryu's Happy Place idea is nice. And Yoh would suck as Shaman King. Come on, he entered the tournament because he wanted to be lazy! But I have a bad feeling if Horo became Shaman King...

I think that Yoh's inner circle is all full of people with abilities and dreams that will help humanity. So I lean more towards there being a "shaman court" surrounding Yoh (and staffing the inn). Certainly the anime finale leaned in that direction, with a bunch of shamans being able to access the King of Spirits.

I'd have to say I'd support either Chocolove or Yoh the most.
Even if the winds of laughter only make the pain go away for a while (rather than removing it entirely), wanting to be able to stop fighting with humor is a noble goal. (Did I mention Chocolove's line after defeating Peyote and BoZ, "I did it, old man. I won without anyone getting hurt," made me cry?)
As to Yoh's goal of a world where no-one would be lonely... I know what it's like to be an outsider, to be the one kid who never gets noticed except to be picked on because she's weird, to be completely friendless. That kind of pain is horrible. A world without it would be a wonderful place.

Ahem, with that moment of immaturity over, now for a bit of strange thoughts that just popped in:
I really cannot see Ryu as a shaman king. I mean, aside from the fact that some of his main concerns are Yoh and Anna, hot or cute girls, and maybe if someone altered his pompadour hair, he really has no goal. Even if someone uses the "Best Place" as the reason for him, it does not work, as even Ryu does not know what the "Best Place" is at times, but just something he will know when it comes. Besides, he already stated that he is not interested in being shaman king, but that he wants to help Yoh be it, so that maybe the "Best Place" will appear.
I am surprised none of the Faust fans have come to lobby on his behalf, but I will still stick my thought in. Similar to the Ryu thought, Faust probably would not be a good shaman king, because he has no dream. Well, maybe if you count what he implied in the Yoh/Faust fight about trying to defeat death in the world, but that was more of a mask for the real reason to resurrect Eliza.
And Ren? I cannot really see him as shaman king, either. I mean, his original purpose was to restore the family name, but other than punishing those that are evil or cannot see the stars and understand them, not sure what he can do, other than be muscle.
Hmm, I have been picking on people, better be an advocate to another Mankin character.....how about Mikihisa? If he was shaman king, it probably would be promoted to camp out every weekend and have barbeques by a lake wearing only your underwear. If you can climb mountains, that makes it easier to live under his rule....
*at this point, gets kicked and stomped by Ryu, Faust, Ren, and Miki fangirls for putting down their favorite characters.....*
By the way, Innle, you rose a good point with Yoh. I forget about that part of his life. So sad, his childhood. And do not feel bad, either. For lack of more dignified words other than the sappy kind, you will always have friends or people who respect you somewhere, like here...

You have a good point with Yoh and Chocolove. Making sure that no one is lonely and defeating the world's pain with laughter... pretty good.
Chocolove: They love me!!! They really love me!!!
MetaKnight: Don't get too carried away, Hao still has the most supporters.
Other Mankin characters: *shooting death stares at Hao*
Anyway, I noticed that a couple of people have mentioned Manta being Shaman King, but never gave any reasons for it. I guess if he was Shaman King, he'd probably make all of the slackers get off their butts and work hard.
