IDIOT QUESTION:
What exactly is being censored or reedited? From I see, Crocodile's hook is still there, and aside from removed blood and the puffy sleeves, I can't see the issue...

In the original, Luffy was impaled by Crocodile's hook *** after he starts shaking him and telling to stop the sandstorm he created which is heading towards Yuba. This impalement scene also plays an important part because it allowed Luffy to discover that Crocodiles weakness was water.*** It should also be noted that Luffy is NOT upside-down in the original. 4Kids just completely redrew Luffy (very poorly at that.) What I didn't notice before, which makes the redraw even more stupid, is that they gave Luffy SLEEVES. XD

XD And what proves that the editors are just lazy, is that those SLEEVES are originally the base of Crocodile's hook. It's like they did'nt even really bother to REDRAW, just literal "cut n' pasting." |

It's too different to be a complete cut and paste If they had cut and pasted the arms and legs they would have looked better.

While Loguetown became Roguetown.
Also Wado Ichimonji is the same in the manga.

I think they must not understand the "logue" part... I don't either. I checked "logue" in the dictionary. All I saw was an entry about a word suffix (e.g. "travelogue"). I guess they assumed it was Engrish. Heck, I thought it was Engrish. |

I think they must not understand the "logue" part... I think I can see where you're getting at with this, but that was only a theory at Arlong Park. A very good one though. I guess someone will just have to ask Oda himself... |

According to an OP entry in Wikipedia: The Rogue Town arc is the sixth and final story arc in the East Blue Saga of the anime and manga, One Piece. The Straw-Hats stop at the island of Rogue Town, the birth and death place of Gol D. Roger to get supplies before heading to The Grand Line. In the Japanese version, the town is called Logue Town, based off the words prologue and epilogue, because the town is also called "the town of the beginning and the end". Meh, I'm slacking off, so might as well do something "productive". |
