yes yes, wonderful, you know...you could've asked this perfectly in the episode 39 thread. o_0 Please don't bring old topics up like this...I won't lock this thread since it is an episode thread, but if Lovely wants to, it's up to her.

Er-I didn't even know there was an episode 39 topic. I just saw this on the most recently posted topic thingie in the bottom. Now I'm sad. Everyone calls me a necromancer.

*tries to imagine Hao as an "Ezekiel"*
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! *dies laughing*
Not to say that the name "Ezekiel" isn't cool...(If I have kids, I'll name him that!), but it doesn't go with Hao...
I mean, why couldn't they have called him "How" short for "Howard" or something? "Zeke" just conjures up images of a geeky junior high kid with swirly-eye glasses and a bow tie babbling about quarks and mesons in a high pitched voice. Totally not Hao.
EDIT: The last time I heard the name Zeke was the name of a...dog. XD

I agree, Hao is better than the name Zeke. But Zeke is okay for me at least, it jsut doesn't fit all those lines when people mentions his name...Zeke. It sounds like a horn to me o_0. Well, maybe 4Kids think that the kids who watches the dub version will make fun of the name Hao because it sounds so much like 'How" and they might get confused or something... i dunno, but i perfer Hao, it sounds more... i dunno, it just sounds better.

Zeke actually reminds me of a "cool" person. I guess it was some video game that JVC made that had "Zeke" and "Julie" as the main characters.

Ezeikel means "Strength of a God" in Hebrew. It's said "Yechezkel" which is said Yeah-chess-kel (ch like you are clearing your throat, a Scottish Ch and the last syllable rhymes with the word "tell") So I sorta like the name in theory, but in practice it just doesn't work for me. Zeke just doesn't seem scary enough. Though Hao doesn't seem to fit him either, if it's short for Howie or Howard. I am not afraid of someone named Howard.

Wow, thanks for the "Zeke" info foxglove! Heh, I wonder if the rewriters were aware of the deffinition of the name or not?
Anyhoo~
EDIT: Aaagh.. everything I wrote here I actually said in the second page of this thread. Sorry! Ignore me~ .
Uh.. I just wanted to point out that Hao's name isn't actually intended to be "scary." Remember, it's simply a pun based of of Yoh's name.

Just finished reading the comparison and 5{ idth. You're right...the original songs are alot better...I don't think the original voices match that style though...the voices are too clean and soft for hard rock. You know, the last time I heard the name Zeke used in a show was the truck driver on the Darkwing Duck episode with the Vampire Potatoes...thought I'd share that completely goofy reference. ^_^ Zeke is also used in Sponge Bob Square Pance. It is the name of Plankton's hillbilly cousens.
