The title of this episode was originally "American Onsen." (American Hot Springs.)
I really can't see this episode doing well in the dub. A LOT of the humor in the begining relies on America's stereotypes of Japan and asia in general ^^; . Which was amusing ironic to ME because a few of these episodes have a good deal of stereotypes about the U.S *laughs*. I always suspected that this irony was intentional.
The joke concerning Ren's love of three is really obvious. I say it CAN'T be cut, but what I mean is, it probably won't be cut because it's
1- a visual thing
2- really quick
3- nothing objectional about it. It's a subtle gag that you'll only notice if you know about Ren's love of three.
It's pretty obvious so I won't say what it is specifcily. You guys can just look for it yourselves ^_~ .
SPOILERS Highlight to read.
***A lot of the stuff in this "Japanese" simulating town is actually VERY OBVIOUSLY chinese. Like one lady who is wearing a Chinese dress ^o^ .
Another joke that will probably be cut out of the dub is that Ryu's crush on Lyserg is really apparent in this episode ^^; (Sparkles around Lyserg, Ryu blushing like crazy...).
A cool remix version of the X-laws theme played in this epi (I don't have an mp3 of it, sorry.)
Oh, there's a scene with "Anna" and Yoh that will probably be reworded in the dub. It's cute and funny though ^o^ . I fear the dub might make the dialoug harsher though :/
Something that will MOST DEFINETLY be modified is that there is a scene where Hao has a good deal of blood on his face. This scene stands out because this show in general doesn't ussually show blood.
Actually... not a lot of the plot is forwarded much in this episode. It's just amusing and fun ^_^ .

sigh....the wonderful American Onsen....Lovely, I finally remembered what 3 joke your talking about, and your right, it can't be cut. XD This episode always makes me laugh... ** ah yes! >< the blood on Hao's face! this is the reason i was twitching so much in the last episode thread...i for one think that he looks cool...but well...you know me...i also mentioned i have a positive feeling theyre gonna cut it >< rats...
*cackles* the ryu/lyserg scene in the hot springs...man...i seriously wanna see how theyll handle that....
the "anna"/yoh scene! i love that scene..."im too afraid to do those things!" XD
you know...in the scene where lyserg sees "marco" maybe i was seeing things...but it kinda looks like hes sliding or something...
oh and finally...Zenki and Gouki!! ><! ill take those guys over the SoF any day! their eyes are so....freaky...*begins to laugh to herself like an idiot*** meh, my 'spoiler text' was sorta pointless...but yea im pointless....>_O *hopes she doesnt get shot by Lovely* |

I am really interested to know how they handle the scene with Hao and the blood all over him. I bet they edit out the scene entirely, as I don't think it would make too much of a difference. I'm also anxious to see what kind of jokes the substitue for all the "Making fun of Americans" jokes. This should be very intersting to say the least.******

4 kids acuallt kept it!  i was suprised myself to see that. i said "whao...4kids kinda lacked on the editing" 1. ryu oogleing a chinese girl (thou i guess if pokemon can do it so can sk) but just the way it showed her legs and such i guess. 2. tilda had some clevage *gasp* and i saw ren's 3 obsession ^__^ and there was one part i saw that i KNEW must have had to have been re-worded. it was a sceen between ryu amnd lyserg. i LOVED the yoh and "anna" part. probaly one of the best parts in this ep. and lets see what else...anyways can't wait to read the comparison cuz im sure there'll be a lengthy one. |

Well it seems that the weakest minded of Yoh's group is Lyserg. Heck even Ryu caought on pretty fast. And My respect for Kororo went way up this episode. Even if Horo Horo does use her to cheat at ping pong. The sequence with Tao Ren went how I expected. The best line in the episode for me was
Yoh"I finnally got to boss Anna around. To bad it'll never happen in real life."
And my response to Lysergs wanting the group to join the X-laws, He must not have heard their ominuos theme music. And I find it somewhat disturbing that his dream involved Marco beconing him.

lol.Lyserg dreams of Marco.
I didn't know until this episode that they were using the original voice for Kororo......I heard her say "yatta" at one part......it was so cute!

XD yes! thats why I was freaking out! they kept the blood on his face! and the lick! *jumps up and down* for those who havent caught on, the bloody hao scene is my most favorite hao scene! ><! yea..im weird... ahem..ok the episode...ill admit it...it was..good....first off..Zenki and Gouki! ><! like i mentioned before...ide take those guys over the SoF any day..*-*..well...originally they dont talk, and Anna doesnt say that little spell... I found this awkward...they called them 'shikigami' yet they re-named mikihisas shikigami... ...ok... the 'theme park' made me laugh. I actually enjoyed the fact the dub mentioned it was Japanese XD I could feel a smile on my face everytime they said 'Japanese'. The sign...'Jethro san's' made me laugh too XD also, when the lady said 'konnichiwa' >< if i heard correctly, the lily 5 were saying 'Tilda' ...her name is the same...but instead of the 'T' its a 'J', so originally, her name was Jilda...ok...and these lines here...made me cringe and laugh at the same time: elly: was it because her name ends in DA? (duh) *** sally: now i know why her name ends in DA. the baths scene were re-written...ryu never suggested 'to go their separate ways' and i cant say much else because my sister, a non-anime evil hypocrit, was talking through the scene..T_T (and yes i know, my sister is not important to this thread..meh..) also, the part where ryu looks at lyserg and theres a bubbly shoujo atmosphere around lyserg...was cut..T_T and maybe i was hallucinating...but i think the lyserg/ryu scene was chopped up a bit... ...but i probably was just hallucinating....also, lyserg wasnt asking ryu for 'advice' XD *wink wink* i would just like to comment that i like horo's hair down better ;D no! >< the anna/yoh scene! ok ill admit it was somewhat accurate...but it was just so much funnier in the original...yoh never told her to 'go away', he told her "im too afraid to do those things" and he did tell the others thankyou at the end but didnt tell them why, he just said "its a secret" also, ill admit it, i liked 'Tilda' and Kanae's voices, especially Kanae's, in my opinion it suited her...  man, this episode was actually good, despite some dialouge changes...i actually enjoyed the dub! XD ill admit it, im happy with how 4kids is handling season 2 ;D and in my opinion, the music isnt sounding so cartoony anymore...sometimes i dont even notice its there.. ... one more thing, Lovely, this episode was the beginning was season 2 right? i mean, when Northern Lights and Omokage begin to play instead of Oversoul and Trust You right? or is it next episode? i dont quite remember... |

I was in shock for quite some time, when they didn't edit out Hao's little blood scene. They edited out the little part in the spa were Ryu looks over at Lyserg and he is "sparkling" lol
By the way, lovely, how do you make the text completely invisible unless you highlight it? I kinda screwed up on my previous post, sorry about that.

Um... WOW, I'm interested to see this tomorrow. I really CAN NOT believe that they kept the Hao blood scene in 0_o . It's almost like they WANT parents to yell at them 0_o . 4kids... what are they up to?
Well, to answer Resurie's question. The new opening and ending actually started with episode 35 (next episode.) Probably won't be a new opening for the dub though (sorry kids ^_~ ! ).

I'm sure that that really wasn't blood, but ketchup. You see Zeke was going to eat a cheeseburger, and was putting the ketchup on when Anna beat the Shikagami and surprised him, so he squirted Ketchup on his face.
