The Law of Women 2Females must always wear revealing miniskirts or any sort of school uniform that has skirts. When male character accidently sees underwears that are damn obvious to see with such skimpy clothings, females must slap the crap out of them, blush, and get mad. One in the series at least has an abnormal hair color. As stated before, no females can be portrayed as ugly at all, they must all be the epitome of beauty/cuteness with huge eyes or small ones at rare occasions. Law of ExplanationAnimes must give detailed explanations on what is happening as if the viewers were retarded and could not figure it out for themselves. Foreshadowing has no meaning as it is explained in full detail later on with some stupid monologue. There are no mysteries except for the ones that even they can't solve. Every single 'can-be-answered' question must be explained. Viewers are not allowed to guess themselves unless it is not shown in the anime. Law of SpotlightMain characters have some sort of unknown abnormal power that can change the world. They must save the world for no reason that it benefits them in a mysterious land. Law of Love Number somethingBoy and Girl must kiss in volume 1 or the last one. Their feelings for each other are so cliched that readers have trouble swallowing them except for those who eat them everyday. Romance must be quick and swift with no 'real' evidence as to why there was love in the first place besides friendshippy things that for some reason, lead to outbursts of snogging and doing inexplicit things. Law of 'Ugly' PeopleUgly people must always be portrayed fat, powerful, and look realistic compared to the anime looks of the main characters and must have small eyes and bulging bodies. Yea... That's all I can think of.

The Law of 4Kids Entertainment[/u]
If 4kids licences it, will butchered to a mere shell of it's original glory in an attempt to pass it of as an American-made kids cartoon. Regardless of actual age appropriateness, criticisim, or actual popularity of the end product.

A wide range of characters including Alphonse the suit of armor, Pinokkiomon the gun nut, Son Goku (all ages) and every shonen hero all sound like adult Japanese women.
The hero of a shonen title is one or more of the following: dumber than mud, obnoxious, lazy, whiny, etc. To quote from manga parody Cromartie High School: "If it comes between common sense and friendship, I choose friendship." Friendship is proven by getting your butt kicked. (Shaman King, YGO, Zatch Bell, etc.)
As long as your computer can pass for a human girl in your eyes, she's girlfriend material. (ChoBits)
If the anime's based on Alex Dumas' work, there has to be weird backgrounds (Count of Monte Cristo) or plots (D'Artagnan goes to Paris to find an elephant)
Young teenagers are perfectly suited to run large companies and encounter no opposition from stockholders. Corporate intrigue is resolved through the show's battle technique of force. If YGO is any indication, Shaman King would have eventually had Manta having a shaman battle to keep Oyamada corp if it had continued. Also, the military's best bet is always some teenage kid.
All the boys end up fawning, angsting or fighting over the Japanese kid visiting their fantasy world. (Fushigi Yugi, Kyo Kara Maoh)
He may come off as a tough, scary guy, but underneath... He's trying to reach his goal b/c of a girl he knew as a kid (Zoro), He killed all those people while waiting to meet his best friend (Amidaru), He's duelling to save his little brother (Kaiba), He knits animal plushies, etc.
Blonde is a common hair color in the Middle East (Gundam Wing, this food commercial sheik character from Japanese tv, YGO)
Girls will always manage to find themselves somewhere in the sidelines by the semi-finals.

Where has anyone said this is new? I didn't mention it was something new. I got this idea because I remembered seeing it somewhere else. I just believed it would be more fun for everyone to type out the laws themselves instead of copying and pasting...if I did that, this thread would have died after five replies. >_>

A second part to Tonfa's last post:
Law of 4Kids Dubbing
Regardless of nationality, someone will suddenly become British/Australian. No one has a good foreign accent. No other country exists. The anime only takes place in America, though it is never directly stated.
Laws for Anime Guys
Typicially, one of the guy friends of the hero will be a skirt chaser or a pervert or just happen to have an obsession for hot/cute girls (Miroku, Sanji, Ryu, Havoc, etc.)
Laws for Protagonist's Team/Circle of Friends
Everyone is the same age. If not, then they only differ by plus or minus one year. In certain cases, one or two teammates/friends will have an age that differs greatly (Robin and Chopper from One Piece, Faust from Mankin)
Law of Critical Injuries
No matter how bad your injuries are, there is about a 99% probability that you will survive, heal, and be back to regular or even greater strength, all within a matter of a few days (Zoro cutting his legs halfway off, Ussop getting smashed in the face with a bat that weighs more than him, Manta getting cut open, the numerous times that Faust was hit around in the first fight, not to mention performing a bone replacement surgery on his own leg on the spot with other bones from the cemetary poking out of his skin, etc.)

Law of Stillness The character can speak a whole paragraph and never move or blink, just open his mouth.
Law of Genericness There will always be some kind of white haired guy who'll have a huge amount of raging fanboys. *cough Kakashi cough*
Law of Poorness Characters are too poor to buy different clothing.
Law of Genericness pt. 2 Swords.

Haw haw, resurie got most of her's from Mahou Sensei Negima. X3 Indeed I did. :D The Law of IntellegenceA scientist, a teacher, an expert on computer hacking, or perhaps weaponry. Whatever it may be, the intellegent person of a group will always be a cute girl, a young boy, or just someone who looks like they should still be in school.

Law of the elderly character
If the hero meets an old person who somehow seems to know all about the hero's power and teaches the hero about that power... then more than likely that person is going to have a big role in the story.
"Why in the heck did you underestimate that guy" law
In a story, the hero will come across someone who's either a super klutz, a super idiot, super wierd or supremely odd looking. The hero, or his circle of friends, will then have to challenge this person... only to have their heads handed to them by this strange person on a sliver plate. Victory for the hero in this case isn't mandatory.
e.g. Kakashi of Naruto, Rock Lee of Naruto, the guy who beat Yuki on Hikaru No Go, Jin of Yu Yu Hakusho, Double of MegaMan X, etc
Never trust the kawai guy or the bishonen/bishoujo law
Whenever the hero is put into a situation where he or she must fight against more than one enemy at a time, he or she must always beware of the better looking one of the group. Chances are very good that the person either a powerful subordinate of the bad guy, is evil and psychotic as no tomorrow or the bad guy in a disguise.
e.g. Soujiro of Ruruoni Kenshin, Haku of Naruto, Rando (monk form) of Yu Yu Hakusho, Ryou Bakura of Yu-Gi-Oh, Vegeta (I made the mistake of thinking that he was the weaker one between him and Nappa... boy was I in for a surprise) of Dragon Ball Z, Zarbon of Dragon Ball Z, Jadeite and Nephlite of Sailor Moon, Hiten of InuYasha, etc.
Law of the Immortal Bad Guys
In some kiddie anime, the reoccuring bad guys must live. I don't care if you stab them in the heart, blow them up, smash them with heavy machinery, throw them in a meat grinder, set them on fire or whatever; these bad guys will recover and return to be a nuisance in the next episode.
e.g. Team Rocket of Pokemon, Count Collection (Prince Eccentro) of Mon Colle Knights, Petrafina of Flint the Time Detective

The Law Of Clamp Heroines
All young heroines who are the main characters of Clamp series must always be sweet, kind, naive, everyone must love them, and they can never be depressed about their mother who either died or left them when they were young.

Adding to Gus' No Happy ending Law....
Law of NoHappy Ending Law Part 2[/u]
The person or people that die must be one of the following:
-An important character's parents or close family members
-A villian's parents or close family members, which is the reason that they are evil.
-Good Guy and or Bad guy's boyfriend/girlfriend.
-Good Guy and or Bad Guy's best friend, (usually in a brave act of self-sacrifice)
-The person who just switched sides.
-An important political figure.
-The good guy's much respected master/sensei/mentor.
-Some unimportant characters, or a village full of them, who cares?
-An important character or the important character's boyfriend/girlfriend, which leads us to....
Law of Death is Never Permanent[/u]
If they are an important character or villian, if they die they will come back to life. It doesn't matter if they were impaled (a popular choice), burned to a crisp, crushed to death by something heavy, were caught up in an explosion, fell of of something high, drowned, betrayed and killed by a friend, passed away from explosive diarrhea, were decapitated and then cut up into tiny pieces to have the tiny pieces dissolved in acid and have the acid flushed down the toilet or die of old age.
The Villian will be revived in a spectaular ritual conducted by their underlings. Their underlings usually needing to collect a buch of objects or one really important object. When the Villian is revived (s)he will always be at least three times more powerful.
The good guy will go to the afterlife for a short period of time during which the major diety of that series will tell them that "It is not your time to go yet. You are the major hero, the world needs you." After this the good guy will decend from heaven (or, on occasion, Hell) in a brilliant, usually seizure inducing show of lights. They will thank their friends and proceed to kick the bad guy's ass six ways from Sunday.
The good guy's boyfriend/girlfriend will be revived in any number of odd ways just for the purpose of getting in the way of the new love interest of the main character and complicating the relationships. Or they may have never even been dead, the good guy just believed them so.
The Law of Impalement
Someone WILL get impaled.
Law of Outfits
The anime girls will always be scantily clad. It could be -20F in the middle of the Antarctic and they will still be wearing that tight bodysuit with short skirt/shorts and a shirt that shows lots of cleavage.

Regardless of actual age appropriateness, criticisim, or actual popularity of the end product.[/quote] You forgot the TMNT CorrolaryShows that 4Kids make themselves are, puzzlingly, far better than their dubs and even contain stuff they usually edit. Law of Unequal DeathMain characters can survive things that kill minor characters, even if the minor character is just as strong (for example, Inuyasha's survived being impaled at least twice while both Kagura and Abi, my two favorite characters btw, were killed that way) Law of EngrishEveryone speaks Engrish. Even characters who are supposedly fluent in English and/or American... Law of Deceptive AgeEveryone looks and sounds older than they really are. Law of Deceptive GenderIf it looks like a girl and sounds like a girl, half the time it's a guy

Mimiru and I just came up with these yesterday...
Law of the Digimon Leaders (more like tradition)
Whether the leader is official or not, the main kid of the Digimon series must wear goggles... no matter how out of place it looks.
e.g. Just watch Digimon, you'll see what I mean.
Law of the Dysfunctional Family
There must be a bad guy who, in some way, is related to either the hero(ine) or someone in the hero(ine)'s circle of friends.
e.g. Itachi of Naruto, Master Moo (human form) of Monster Rancher, Koichi (temporary) of Digimon Frontier, Knives Millions of Trigun, Sesshomaru of InuYasha, Black Lady (evil Chibi Usa) of Sailor Moon, etc.

Law of Food, part 2[/u]
Regardless of much or how often the main character eats, he/she will NEVER gain any weight or body fat.
If the character does show signs of obeseity, it is only temporary and the character will return to their original body shape in the next scene.
If the character is obese to begin with, this law is disregarded.
