The Law Of Magical Girl Beginnings: All magical girl anime series must begin in the exact same way. The series will start off with the main heroine running late to school, usually accompained by a lengthy monologue, introducing herself and explaining her current lifestyle to the audience. When the main heroine gets to school, she will either barely make it on time or if she's late she'll be punished in a comical way by her teacher. It will then be followed by a sequence of events showing us the daily life of the heroine, usually involving her hanging out with her friends while swooning over her potential love interest. These sequences of events is usually accompained by foreshadowing that will help set up the magical events to come. The main heroine is then usually greeted by a magical creature who will become her personal guardian. This magical creature will then give the main heroine a magical item that will activate her magical powers and she will then have to go off to fight the monster of the day (Sailor Moon, CCS, TMM, Pretty Cure, and to a lesser extent, Pretear).

The Law of Friend-vs-Superior
Whenever a character has to choose between supporting a superior (i.e. someone whom he's sworn to serve, someone who's controlling them, etc.) or a friend (self-explanitory), the character will *nearly* always support the friend involved, or at least make a good effort to thwart the superior.
This comes up a lot in anime, and is featured in, at the very least, the following - Shaman King (ooh, lots of people), Fullmetal Alchemist, Yu-Gi-Oh (not GX as far as I've seen though...), Digimon... and probably a lot of other ones that I've never even seen.

Law of Hair Colors Part II
Somebody's always got to have blue hair and its usually a bishoujo. (Examples: Motoko, Mawata, Bulma, Ryoko, etc.)
Law of Impassive Waifs
Impassive anime waifs are fanboy magnets for some reason, especially Rei Ayanami.
Laws Of Stereotypical Male Ukes
I. Stereotypical ukes must always have a lighter hair color than their semes.
II. Stereotypical ukes must be extremely skinny and have adorable "Bambi Eyes."
III. Stereotypical ukes must blush, weep, stammer, giggle, and get frightened very easily.
IV. If none of the above laws apply to said uke, he must be what is known as the "Uke in Denial." The Uke in Denial is fairly masculine but he usually snaps, "I ain't yer bitch, dammit!" (to his seme.)

The Law Of Instant Yaoification-Whenever two bishounens are shown in official artwork in a close position that suggests something homoerotic is occuring between the two characters, those characters must automatically become gay in yaoi fangirls' fanfics, despite whatever their official sexuality is in the canon series (Gundam Wing, Gundam SEED).

Hi, long time no see. Here's some more rules that I've found out while wandering on the road we call life.
Law of Endings:
If you were as a real, angry, and/or tough hardass in the beginning of the show, the chances are very high that you will lose that anger and find new meaning in life when the series ends.
Ex. Yusuke from Yu Yu Hakusho, Yamato from Digimon Adventure 01, Domon from G Gundam, and various others.
Law of Battle Clothing:
I can't remember if this was already posted or not... It is a law that a male character in a fighting anime must lose his shirt within battle. Whether it is burnt off, torn up by continuous pummelling, ripped off by the one wearing it, etc it must go. However, the pants are to remain on the wearer's body... even if they were hit with the same bomb or blowtorch as the shirt.
Exception to this rule: Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho *crap why can't he lose the shirt at least once*, Female fighting characters
More will come later... see you guys around!

Law of Occupations
There is almost always a swordsman, either as a protagonist, friend of the protagonist, or the antagonist.

The Law Of Instant Yaoification-Whenever two male characters interact in any way, those characters must automatically become gay in yaoi fangirls' fanfics, despite whatever their official sexuality is in the canon series (every anime series with two or more male characters in it). fixed that for ya.

The spooky thing about that is that I recently caught myself doing that to Blue Bayou and Sweet Juliet from Tokyo Mew Mew A La Mode. ^^'
Law of Shoujo-ai Semes (Are dominate partners called semes in shoujo-ai? Oh, well.)
Half of the time a shoujo-ai seme will be an ice queen.
The "I need Everyone's Power" Law
The hero's friends will lend their power to him/her at one point in all action/adventure animes so he/she can defeat the enemy with one last mighty attack.

Law of Bishonen Every bishonen must have at least a crazy ranting fangirl who insists that he is the hottest man on Earth. If he does not have one, he may subsistute that he has over 100 fangirls worldwide (yes, kindergardeners DO count).
Law of Bishojo
Every bishojo must know who Rikku from FFX2 is and then bow down to her. Every bishojo must have some reason of being a bishojo and a GOOD one at that.
Law of being and Otaku You must like anime or manga.

The Law Of AMVs- Whenever an anime becomes insanely popular, there will automatically be a thousand cliched "Bring Me To Life" AMVs (any insanely popular shounen anime)

The Law of Yurusai na
Whenever an anime character's close friend or potential love interest is killed by an enemy the character must always cradle the dying person in his/her arms and scream, "I will NEVER forgive you for this!!" to the enemy.

Law of Creepy Stalker Girls
You MUST either be SUPER popular or ugly and unknown! Then you must go after someone important to your bishie and then throw garbage at her or gang up on her with your friends! Of course, the guy you like will come and save her!
Law of Funny Manga
Every funny manga should have ONE perverted person!

The Law of Possession
Someone in the series almost always gets possessed by someone else, no matter what said series is about. (This can even go as far as items being possessed and attacking people.)
The Law of the Chibiness
In almost every series, there is at least one character who is short, but in denial of being short. *cough*EdwardElric*cough*
*frying pann'd once again*

Wow Takato, I thought I was the only one who was sick of all the "Bring Me to Life" videos and songfics!
The "Miyazaki Is A Hippie" Law (smacked)
There will always be a symbol of nature in a Miyazaki film.
The Laws Of Magical Girls' Boyfriends
I. A magical girl's love interest will usually be an orphan and/or have a mysterious past he can't remember. (Examples: Masaya, Kaito, etc.)
II. The magical girl's friends/teammates will never get sick of hearing the heroine gush over how much she loves her guy even though they should.
The Vanishing Gal Pal Law
In nintey-nine percent of magical girl series, the heroine has at least one friend who remains completely unaware of her secret identity and vanishes into the woodwork after the first five episodes. Sometimes the vanishing gal pal is a victim of a monster attack. (Examples: Naru, Moe/Miwa, Sakurako/Kaoruko, Yayoi, etc.)
The Bashing Law
Fifty percent of the time an anime character will be bashed by the majority of his/her show's fandom because he/she's romantically involved with a more popular character and thus prevents a certain pairing from ever happening. (Example: Paris for getting in the way of Goten/Bra or Mikaru for getting in the way of Ruchia/Kaito)
The Stepford Bishonen Law
Many shojo series will have a character is sickeningly Gary Stu-ish and yet he'll never be bashed because he has too many fangirls. (Examples: Sasame, Akasaka Keiichiro, etc.)
