Yeah... I could see how they could get around the scene of having Lyserg's parents in the fire... and still make it obvious that they were dead... but for Sasuke... the scene is littered with dead bodies... and blood... I just dont see how they could edit that out. And without his disturbing past... it makes him who he is, gives him a reason for every thing he does. The reason he is so messed up is because of witnessing that at such a young age, and the concequences of that are complicated to understand if you dont know all the details.

SAS-KAY has a scarier ring. Ever hear Gaara's little threatening rants at Sasuke, during his transformation eppies? His "Uchiha Sasu-KE!" Just imagine his "[Insert name that'll be used insteada Uchiha, possibly "Yuchiha"] Suhsuki!" in a voice that would sound like Noa's, if Naruto wasn't already given that voice.
But, yeah, if they got as far as the current eppies on the anime, how would they handle Sasuke's inferiority complex? Or how Sasuke wanted to get Mangekyou Sharingan and the requirements were to (SPOILER ALERT!) kill his best friend (i.e. you-know-who).

They would have to practically re-write half of the episodes. Like in the 6th episode or so when Naruto stabs his hand, how are you gonna make it look like he is hurt, if there is no blood coming out of his hand?? and the whole dead parents thing. And also, Gaara is a VERY brutal character, if you were to edit out all the blood that he spills in the series, Gaara wouldn't be Gaara anymore.

Ya know, I caught the last bit of One Piece yesterday where Luffy's hat gets ruined and he has his flashback yada yada...the entire thing felt like Dragon Ball to me...not like Naruto. And I think Vasuki hit it...it doesn't feel real. In Naruto they make you sympathetic to just about every character that dies or is in a life or death situation, and they make it feel real somehow...I never got that same tension from watching Dragon Ball or One Piece...I didn't feel it in Shaman King until they gave Lee Pailong's backstory...I never felt bad that Amidamaru or his weaponsmith friend got killed or how they got killed...I felt really bad when I found out how Lee Pai Long went down. It's what Vasuki said about realism...so if 4Kids edits out all the blood in Haku's and Zabuza's deaths, it's still going to be plenty tragic since these characters have been fleshed out...I stick by what I said about it being Adult Swim material only after editing... LC O.k, I know this is a REALLY old topic, but I just had to reply to this. You see, I just came back from watching the 24th episode of One Piece (uncut) and... HOLY MOTHER COW! (also because of this episode... I'm a bit hyper ^^; .) Anyhoo, One Piece becomes SO INTENSE. YES, it starts off incredibly goofy, but man... I can not believe they are showing this (One Piece) on a kids network 0_0 . No wonder fans were upset when the news came out. I don't watch the dub of OP, but I can imagine that a LOT of the drama and tension is gone without the violence. Watching these episodes, I'm even MORE sure that if they could, 4kids would be all over liscencing and "adapting" Naruto. I mean... WOW. (still in shock) (In case anyone is wondering, episode 24 takes place in the Sanji intro arc. The episode specificly deals with Zoro and a fight with someone with special eyes ^_~ .) |

After reading over 130 chapters of Naruto, I realize that there is no chance in hell 4Kids will dub Naruto. It's just too damn viloent, it would be like 4Kids trying to dub Akira, just no chance in hell.

But they're already doing that with One Piece, and it's violent later as well.
We might be safe from FUNi and 4Kids cause both of them just licensed really expensive anime. (FMA and well... One Piece)
The only good thing that might come out from Naruto being dubbed by 4Kids is... TOYS. :3 And translated video games. (Though they'll end up having dub names >_<)

FUNi can be a pretty good licensor... the worst dubs that they did are DBZ and GT.

4kids probably wont end up with it cauz....like what everyone already said...its just too gory......but the thing that really makes me thinkin is the first 2 episodes and the jiraya intro...........Naruto turns into a naked girl.......a lot................if 4kids had gotten it they would make Naruto's transformation hmmm maybe to a monkey..........and then Come Come Paradise cover would be changed to the picture of that Super Monkeyball Monkey <laffs>

They did dub One Piece after all. 4kids may now just get the license for Naruto just to spite those who think it can't be done.

if anyone gets Naruto, I hope it's ADV. with the exception of the last few Sailor Moon R ep.s, they do everything right. if 4kids gets it, they'll make Haku a girl. (so will Pioneer.) they'll also mispronounce any names they don't change.  Why would Geneon make Haku a girl? |

like most ppl have said 4kids will probably not get it. They'd have to combine 2 eps every week, because they'd have to cut out so much violence. Chances are that we don't have to worry about who is going to dub Naruto for quite some time. The anime still has a long way to go before it ends, and so I doubt it will be getting sold any time soon, and even if it does, then well, I don't know. XD

Hmm...I can finally post in this thread. X3 I haven't seen the anime, but I have read the manga. (Not VIZ's mind you...T_T) and I don't see how 4kids would get their hands on something like that... I hear the anime is toned down from the manga, but it still follows the same storyline (as in disturbing things being mentioned...like things about Gaara....that guy is so cool...  ). I think it would work as a direct release, but not something on a saturday morning block... |

If the anime is toned down, then not very much. (I don't read the manga though) I mean, they still show gaara when he rips people apart with his sand, and it shows the blood flying everywere, so like I said, they couldn't have toned it down THAT much. (I think gaara is awsome too!!!)
